Wow-Wednesday

I missed posting this morning.
I was excited to get downtown to Swap our
Red,  White and Blue charms.

160 charms
There were 16 people in the swap

These are some ideas eddie found.

I might do a Pat Speth method and make stars.

I got Elle and she chose the pattern for her Quilt she made at Grandma Quilt Camp.
I enlarged it a bit.
I love the Tula Pink backing she chose.

Last Monday of July 2026

I wonder how many times I have put Borders on a quilt and had them turn out just right?
Thanks to my Quilt Buddy, Lynn teaching me to measure first and use pins!
This is my Go cutter flimsy from a layer cake
Christmas Chandelier Quilt #3
"Christmas in Quilt town USA"
I used up almost all of the pieces in
 the pieced borders
I'm Not sure where the Purple snowflake fabrics came from, but I have used 3 different shades all
in this quilt flimsy.

Saturday was our Christmas in July at
Powered by Fabric.
We had a gift exchange of items from our sewing room. Fun to play with 20 of us.

I fixed sweet Potatoes for the potluck.

On Sunday I wore my Pioneer Dress.
I know I'm the only one who wears it every year.
I am the reminder of those beloved and dear Pioneers that arrived in Salt Lake City in 1847

This picture from 2012 with Tula Pink came up
in my memories  today.
I've collected her fabrics a long time.
Wish I could find that big tote with the older
Tula Pink fabrics in it.

Happy Monday!

FriYay, NOT!

Yesterday didn't turn out exactly as I hoped.
We went to the Temple as usual.
Got an early Release.
My sister, Roma and her husband gave Paul a ride home from the Temple.
That meant I had time to Deliver some books to White Bluffs Quilt Museum.
When I got there eddie was teaching a Pineapple Quilt class.
I wanted to see the RWB exhibit, too.
I only took one picture of this Antique Quilt.
It's a Martha Washington or Dolly Madison Star.
All hand pieced and quilted.
Maker unknown 😞
From the museums archives.
The Quilt Museum was doing a Bed Turning at the Richland Library at 6:30 pm.
I had hoped to go, I had time to kill.
I had time to Browse the fabrics...
I was looking for Sage Greens.
This is what I found on the right.
On the left is fabrics I got at Quiltmania.
Not a match, opps.

It's time to make another
Double Wedding Ring Quilt.
Not in the Purples like I wanted.
Jeff and Cheyanne need a Quilt.
Especially after they saw Dan and Janessa's.
They got Quilts in the Big Quiltgiving in 2024.
But not a Wedding Quilt in 2021 when we went back to Mossouri soon after our Mission.
Cheyenne said, "Now, I have my very own Quilt!"
I see some of her favorite greens in there.

Well, long story short.
My car died in the Gage/Steptoe intersection.
Flashing lights on my dashboard aren't good!
Had to call a Tow truck.
Some nice people pushed me across the road into a driveway at the Yakima Federal bank.

I called my hubby to tell him, then Son Joe, he didn't answer.  Called the insurance to get a Tow.
It was after normal Business hours
Next i called D D #2., Then D D #1
Andy was on his way home from Umatills so he came and rescued me from the Rush hour traffic.
He took me to their house in Richland.
Dan and Janessa came from Walla Walla and
 drove me home.
They stopped at Winco so I could get groceries.

It's Pioneer Day in Utah and I'm not there.
Gotta deal with the car.

Here's my Wednesday Finish.
Woven Diamonds.
Started in November 2024.

Wow-Wednesday

Got the label made.
And Stitched down.

They loved their quilt.
2 months today.
I knew they weren't freezing.
Love stitching the RWB this year.
It fits just right!

We were in our spot for the Sweets vs Pippins game. $2 Tuesday
Been a fan since 2010
Even when the score isn't in our favor. Good hits and double plays, stolen bases and wild catches.

We have a winner
Karen Michaels is our Member Featured Quilter.
She is the one who publishes the Newsletter.
I help her in the sorting room.
She gave a great intro.
I voted for her the past 4 years.
Good to have her finally win.

I have a Day at home.
It's been hot so spending time in my Quilt Zone is just the ticket.

FriYay Flimsies!

I sewed two flimsies together at Wednesdays
 Open Sew day
My Fresh Cut  from the Guild Workshop.
Needs a border.
Gigisthimble.com has a new color blocked version posted today.

I scrapped the dark purple setting triangles.
Found some more Purple with snowflakes
 in my Stash, yea!
I'll cut the corners and use up the rest for a border.
I like this better.

I also cut bindings for two quilts.
Sewed a backing for another TBQ.
It's been a busy week with 3 days in a row downtown!

It's a 2 Day MGQS event with Kimberbell.
Virtually.
Can I get on the Zoom?
We are trying!!
This is me at Camp Lame-O

 Have a good weekend.

Wow-Wednesday

I had to do it!
It's Christmas on July time.
I put my Christmas fabrics in a couple of Totes.
Found one and took it downtown Monday.
Broke out my Accuquilt Go Cutter.
I had 2 Layer Cakes in there from Missouri Star
I got all these blocks made that day.
Chandelier Quilt #3.
It's like a Quilt in a day.
Had to put them on the wall.
This one is for us.
"Christmas in Quilt Town!"
I had purple snowflake fabric to use as background 💜  Perfect for my Purple loving heart.

Then eddie and the Committee started moving  blocks around... what if?
This could make it bigger.
Use another Background, make 12 more blocks.
I had a plan, thanks to eddie!

Tuesday's blacks added. Will there be enough for the setting triangles? Nope!
Maybe I could piece some fabric and make those 4 missing triangles.
I pinned the rows as I took if off the wall.
Then it was lunchtime.
I skipped eating to sew the rows on the diagonal.
Making this reminded me that I need to Quilt Michael and Elizabeth's Christmas Quilt.
I will get the backing made today.
Found a flannel piece long enough to piece it.

Went home early to get ready for Quilt Guild.
I'm in charge!
Got the chicken strips ordered last week
I left home early and had some extra time.
Went to see if DD#2 was home.
She is so good at helping me with flyers!
Isn't this great?

Yea, we are scheduling an At Home Retreat.
We can sew all day and go home to
 sleep in our own beds.
I need to plan the meals.
eddie says she'll head up the Sunday
sewing time for me.
I can stop by after to help
 with the cleanup.
No stitching on Sunday for me...

July is half over.
I am late to start the Fat Quarter Shop Sal.
Printed the first two clues.
Well see if I can catch-up.

Whew, now I'm tired!
It's a 3 day sewing week at Powered by Fabric.
I can do it!

What fun have you started this month?

Monday's here!

I did it!
The DWR is Quilted!

I used a swirly design called "Breath of the Gods".
It took less passes than I put on the screen.
I will trim it and get the binding and label on later.

So Beause I finished it, I got to go see our boys of Summer play Baseball.
It was a beautiful night.
Not too hot, breezes blowing the flag.

Sweet Lou after the 7th inning Stretch.

It's a "Go" Day at Powered by Fabric.
I bought a Go but have never used it.
The Go ladies at Powered by Fabric meet usually
Meet on a Thursday when I am at the Temple.
Hurray Today, I get to "go" play with them.

If I get there early I can use the big table to trim.
Have a great week blogging friends.
Thanks for the comments  😄

FriYay again

It's a FriYay!
I'm at home, wishing I was somewhere else.
Sister's Qutdoor Quilt Show is tomorrow.
I can't go!
But I can choose to make the most of my
time at home.
I need to Quilt downstairs.
My pile of flimsies isn't getting any smaller.

This is a good thing I have a couple days at home.
Check back Monday to see what I get done.

Wow-Wednesday

I went to stitch at Powered by Fabric two
days in a row.
I had a quest to finish the Flowers.
I cut out one single Fabric and 2 doubles.
No extra block for me.
A friend said she wanted to see them of the wall.
I got the last two flowers done.
The leaf part look like birds to me.
It got eddie's approval.
It looked balanced, she said.
It's stacked and ready to sew together.
Hurray!

I came home and iced my back.
Chiro Day.
I should have iced after, but went straight to sew.
Then I mowed the lawn in 90° weather.
I can do hard things!

Monday Stitching

 It's a July Monday.
Hot hot hot!
My machine was humming along,
Until the bobbin ran out...
I added 4 flowers more today.
Just 5 more to finish this project.
This isn't the final layout.
One more row,  more like this.

Here's us on the 250th Birthday of America!
A lot more gray hair.
But we're still moving and celebrating.
There was a Sweets Game to watch!
They won the series ar home.
Got there in the 2nd inning.
We almost napped too long.
Got our new hats!

FriYay-250 USA

Tonight we'll be celebrating with Fireworks after
The Sweets Game.
I put the flags out this morning.

We had a good trip to be with Christopher as he received his Endowment.
So happy that we share a Missionary
 with the Bosens.

Had to take a picture of us.

Star Valley Temple at sunrise Thursday morning.

We left Tuesday morning and got to Burley in time
to attend the Temple.
Tired but still moving!

Burley, Idaho Temple
Recently dedicated.

Monticello Temple
Open house will be in September.

Have to get a picture of the Afton Arch
Pretty clouds

The carpet in out Wednesday night hotel
looked like a Double Wedding Ring Quilt pattern.

Inspiration is Everywhere!

I did get to stop at 2 Quilt shops.
Idaho Falls and Baker City both still had
 their pattern cards.

Hurray for the USA!
I should be Quilting the DWR pictured above.
There are berries to pick and errands to run.
My back is screaming.
Chiro next week.

How are you celebrating?
