Wow-Wednesday

Yesterday we got the final finishing Directions for
The RBD Block Challenge 2025
I cut out that center block and went to Scrap Day at Powered by Fabric.
This was the layout this morning.

Ta Da!!
The center block is surrounded by the
Pastel checkerboards.
They didn't give it a name but I call it
Sister's Choice.
I am glad I cut them it saved time once I got downtown.

We have a Quilt Guild Sew-in this weekend.
I left my Janome down there so I don't
have to drag it back upstairs on Saturday.
Note to self: don't leave the Pins at home.

Memorial Day 2025

I saw this flag at the Dollar Tree
It didn't fare too well in the wind.
And driving 70 MPH.

Putting flowers in the vase on my parents
Headstone.
Note to self: put the vase at the top, so you
 can read the names.

The bouquet of Flags/Iris, Roses and Peonies.
I always add the flag for my Dad who
 served in the CCC's

I love seeing all the flags waving!

My brother, Allan's grave.

We drove to see the first house we lived in
49 years ago this coming November.

Paul's parents house, under new owners.

Big Yellow Roses, Peonies, and Irises in a
plastic cup.

Paul's parents Headstone and Baby Joel's

Paul and neice, Brenda

Paul and Mary

Paul, Anne, Savanah, & Brenda by Shannon's grave.
We had a nice visit with Pete and Anne.
They fed us lunch.
We stopped by Paul's other Sister's home
to say hello too.
No picture. Opps.
It was a tiring ride, but we made it!

It's time!

The Last Block was posted on Tuesday.
RBD Block Challenge 2025
Next week we get the finish instructions.
Block 15
A Bright Spark
Pattern by Amy Smart

Block 16
 Town Square
Pattern by Tara Reed

I didn't have enough Riley Red,  so my Block has Tea Rose and Peony Confetti Cottons
I love it, even with the odd sizes of blocks to cut
 and trim for 10" blocks.
Cutting and trimming each unit makes
a better block!

Another timely thing happened.
Hubby tried to clean the glass on our Kitchen
and it got dropped and broke.
There were no replacement glass in the right size.
I ordered this from Amazon.
Our house builder neighbor and his handy man
came in to put it up for us.
No more bumping his head on the light.

The old one lasted over 20 years in our Kitchen.

Happy FriYay!

 Stitching happened today.
I watched the Star Spangled Beauty class
With Sandra, Kyle, and Fern at
My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe.
I learned a few tips.
I stitched these parts.
The first part went by too fast.
I think I can figure out the vase and flowers.

I can re-watch the Friday class from May 16th.
To make more blocks.
Next time there's a zoom is show n tell.
May 30th.
I don't have a camera on the downstairs computer.
Maybe I can use my Tablet.

I could have this done for July!
That's the Goal.

Wow-Wednesday

Well. I missed my Monday!
I had my Daughters of Utah Pioneers meeting.
And a couple trips to get hubby's blood drawn.
Tuesday was busy getting ready to go to
Walla Walla Quilt Guild.
I needed to make this month's block
It is a BIG block, 15"square.
I auditioned many fabrics.

This is the Fruit Basket Block
from Quilter's Casche
They  said to use pastels.
I took it literally.
I did not Win the stack of 19 blocks.
So I guess I can make a few more and use up those other fabrics that I cut.

I woke this morning and saw that 'Someone' forgot to turn off the light on my Artista.
Funny things happen when you get old.

I didn't get my RBD Block made.
Only one more to go after this one.
Then we get the final assembly instructions.

It's another sew Day at Powered by Fabric.
I'm still Hubby sitting, waiting for a call from
 OHSU in Portland.

FriYay, not!

I stitched a bit on Thursday afternoon.
Hubby was resting.
I went back to do January's Mystery Blocks.
The 2nd one is off- center.
Hope it works when it's trimmed.

All my Blocks so far.
Need to make Bees and Pinwheel Blocks.
Also 1 more of the snail and mushroom.

More Machine Embroidery stuff.
I ordered another kit to make my sister
a bigger purse.
I found a fabric like mine to use.
Directional, had to cut twice.

Ta Da

The swivel on one side of mine broke,
I fixed it!
Cut off one side and put the Strap
through the D Ring.
Right side!

Hubby needed a cover for this pillow.
It's baseball Season!
One Rip and Two seams on the long side.
Done ✔️
Yes, my Christmas cards are still up!
Appointment this afternoon.
No Shop Hop for me, again,  today!
Sorry, Shelly

Happy Mothers Day!
I sure miss Mine and Paul's
49 Years ago in November.

Wow-Wednesday Afternoon

It's RBD Block Challenge
Block 14

I switched the Coral for the Pebble in this one.

I like it!
Just 2 blocks/weeks left to go.

I have the outside giving me De Ja Vu!
4 years ago today we were pulling Tulips in Omaha.
The Sisters got up early to help us.

I got them Hurts Donuts, with gummy worms.

Last night it was YSA guys and President Humphrey's who came to help.
I only had Oreos to offer them.
Should have bought Spudnuts on the way home.

The Tulips need to dry and be re-planted in October
Lawn is mowed and edged!
Thank You so much for helping the old folks
in the Branch.

I potted more plants.
Diplodenia was at Home Depot.
They get their own pots.

Strawberries blooming

Japanese striped Iris

Construction at Howard and Chestnut.
We live in the town of Roundabouts...

Whatcha doing in your neck of the woods??

Monday - May for Me!

I had a nice Saturday and Sunday.
Joe and Kori came bearing early Mother's Day gifts.
This is real flowers in a wood box. I can plant them after Mother's Day outside.
Love the Lilly!

While mowing the side yard in the shade, I knocked off a big branch of my Rhododendron.
I put it in a vase.
It's  way too big for inside.

May for Me today is Eating Chicken enchiladas.
I made them For the Linger Longer.
Dropped a pan of them off at Janessa's on
 our way home.

Feliz' Cinco de Mayo!

Happy Fri-Yay

Dear Daughters are spending Sister time as she recovers from her surgery.
I made some soft food like Jello, Pudding and Mashed Potatoes for them.
The potato water went into the Cinnamon rolls
 and loaf of bread

A change at our local Grocery Store.

And the changing of the bed while
 hubby isn't resting.

I am wishing I was stitching but May for Me changed, plans that weren't on my
 Bingo card for May.
