FriYay was Great!

It was a busy day at the Tri-City Quilters Show.
I took hundreds of pictures.
440+ Quilts in the Big hall.
I only had 2 Quilts and my Guild Challenge to show.
Elizabeth's Looney Tunes Quilt made it's Debut.
It got a few nice comments from Guild friends.

Katie's finished Gingham quilt in Pinks
I wish I  could have steamed it.

This is my 'Take a Page' Guild Challenge
There were 40 entries this year.
All of them were A-m-a-z-i-n-g!
It's cute but not a winner.

I missed posting on Wednesday.
Day 25 Day Job
My Day Job on the 25th was Binding.
It is my favorite part. I bind Quilts for Charity or for $$$. It's getting down to the wire getting Quilts ready for the Tri-City Quilters Show.
Also being a Domestic Goddess is my main Job.

Day 26 Binding Technique
First, you need to square up those corners on the Quilt. I use a Big Square ruler to do that. I prefer a 2.25" binding. It fits snug against the edge. I hand stitch my bindings while watching Hallmark movies. I love a striped binding. Today, I only saw one stripe and one check. I try to match the binding to the last border. I have done a few with a gentle curve. I did a flange on our Guild Raffle Quilt last year. How will I bind the next Quilt? Looking for a stripe...

Day 27 IGQuiltfest Current WIP
My Ocean Waves Quilt is the project going with me to the Quilt Show. I'll be stitching into the night and between my Volunteer Time. I have more blocks to sew and Webbing of the center to do. Putting the Purple pinwheels in the corners. I need 3 more.

Day 28 IGQuiltfest Texture
I brought my Siggies Quilt with me, so it is on my Quilting post for today. I even had a square signed by our Featured Quilter this Weekend. Had to find it in the Quilt. I love the Loopy, swirly and Feathery patterns that can frost the Quilt. At the Quilt Show, I can find all kinds of Texture. A winning Quilt in the Show has real sand glued on it. That's real Texture. Pics later, next week.

Then I'll drive home.

Monday - IGQuiltfest

I am slow moving this morning.
I had a midmorning Chiro appointment.
He said I did all the right things.
Not as bad as last week.
After the adjustment, it is good to walk.
I went to the Park with a couple of Quilts.
Day 24 IGQuiltfest
Quilts in the Wild
What better place than Wildwood Park!

I grabbed a Quilt off my rack.

Then I drove to Pioneer Park.
I wanted to see the Peacocks

Our Aviary is well- known for the birds!

The White Peahen was shy today.

I love the Springtime sprouting coming out.
I saw the Dogwood tree starting to show blossoms.

Another notable spot is the Big Branch on this tree.
It is a favorite place for Photos.
It was replaced by a Bronze Branch
a few years ago.

It is close to the Gazebo.

The Beauty shot of Katie's Quilt.
It is finished and duly Photographed now.

I will have it hanging at this next weekend
Tri-City Quilters Show.
I hope to get Katie there for a picture.
If not, I will deliver it on my way home.

One more to Quilt and 2 to Bind.

I didn't post for the prompt for Day 23
"New Skill"
I'm old, and new skills aren't being learned
that can be pictured.

Day 22 IGQuiltfest Most Loved Quilt
I can't choose just one. It's like choosing your favorite child, lol. I love all my Quilts! It was hard to give them away last Thanksgiving,. But I know they are keeping my family warm.
I can make more. I still have the Memories of making them. Their story goes on. I'm so glad they aren't just stacked in my grandma house...
I can't show all the happy faces from that Quiltaway gifting.

Keep on stitching!! I am trying to use up my stash. Usually, the most Loved Quilt is the last one Finished.

Day 21 IGQuiltfest Other Hobbies

I Love to bake yummy food. I like to Decorate cakes and make homemade Candy. I used to Scrabook, but Quilting has taken over. I still am Blogging and share my love of taking pictures and writing 3 x a Week over on my blog. I love collecting Nativities. Is that a hobby?
I used to Knit and Crochet.

FriYay- 2 bindings ready

I am screaming, hurting.
Been to the chiropractor twice this week.
I ice my back and try to walk the stairs and
stand up straight.
Yesterday,  I did get Katie's Quilt Quilted.
I took a lot of breaks.
 The butterflies are so pretty!
The backing is the same as the border and binding.
I cut the bindings and did Quilt yoga on the floor
 to trim the Quilts.
Just one more to do before next Thursday.
Check in time starts at 7:30am
I can do this!!

Had to go for a walk around the house.
Spring is coming to Walla Walla.
Tulip colors

Cute tiny blooms in lavender

Crocuses

The neighbors' Daffodils.

Hubby is watching his house and getting his mail.
He's gone on a trip.
No Spring Break for us.
Grandma Camp could be one day, maybe.
With a break between days.

My ex-Sister in law passed away.
I hope we can attend her service.
It's on April's 1st.

Wow-Wednesday-

I have only a few more days to get 2 Quilts quilted and then 3 to bind.
My back is screaming and keeping me
awake at night. No joy!
I made an earlier appointment with my Chiro.
Gotta get feeling like Quilting.
I did this in the middle of the night and had to use
The ripper way too much!
Figuring it out.
I'm going to make these for the corners.
I cut more Blue hats to make the rest.

IGQuiltfest is still on my Feeds.
Day 19 Favorite Tools

How many fit on my Lori Holt Design board? I use it for taking set- up blocks to the sewing machine. . I am old enough to remember when Quilting tools weren't so efficient. I can't count the ways Rotary cutters have changed how I quilt. All these tools are on my MSQC Cutting Mat.
The new Olga and Greta from MSQC have become my favorites, they roll so easy when I'm cutting through many layers. I still love my Splash cutters. The 2.5 x 6.5 ruler is great for sub-cutting strips into smaller squares. I had to include the Gypsy Cutter and purple 120" measuring tape.
So many tools in my Toolbox! These are just a few favorites!

Tomorrow is a Quilt all day in my Quilt Zone.
That's the plan.
Last week before the Columbia River Temple is open again after cleaning.

What are you working on?

IGQuiltfest 2025

We are halfway finished with IGQuiltfest 2025.
Day 15 Best Tip Ever
Learn to 'web' your seams, check for a turned block before stitching that last seam. Then use this method to 'web' a Quilt.
2nd bonus tip- Always stitch with friends if you get the chance.
#happyNationalQuiltingday

Day 16  Favorite Quilting Book
This book was recommended to me by my Quilt Buddy to make a Quilt for our Grandson's Wedding. I made it in Blues. Used my Jackie Robinson "Roses" fabrics. I want to make it again.
It's safe in the tote with the fabrics

Day 17 Quilt of Significance
Day 17 IGQuiltfest 2025 Quilts of Significance
I collected the Siggies starting in 2008.
I collected Siggies from Quiltmakers, authors, fabric designers, friends and Quilt Guild members.
I started making the 4-patches at the 2015 Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days.
I asked the Fair goers to put fabrics into a 4 patch for me, then I sewed them.
I love the Arkansas Crossroads layout.
Mine is a Treasure to me. And the X marks the spot so I call it Buried Treasure.
On the pieced back is the Sign I made but never quilted for the Fair
Finished in 2018. 10 years of collecting.
Tonight it is on my bed at a childhood friend's home.

Day 18 Favorite Color
This one should come as no surprise!
PURPLE  is my favorite, all the shades and hues!
I used a lot of my favorites to make the
Quiltmaker Jubilee Quilt.
I love Purple so much, I will change Red in any Quilt to use up my Purple stash.
Even my Ocean Waves is telling me to add some.
I took these pictures with hsts just laid
on the blocks.
Hubby likes no Purple on this one.
I think the center will be All Blues for him.
I can put the Purple in the outside blocks.
No un-stitching that way.

 I missed my Posting yesterday.
Had Quilt Guild in Tri-Cities, then drove to meet with classmates at Chico's in Moses Lake.
They started before I got there.
Took this photo with Millie
50 years in June since we Graduated from
 Moses Lake High School.
Go Crimson and Gold!
