My sister said get some Vacuum Bags.

for the Nebraska Winter!

We are getting a Room cleared and still packing as I find needed things to take.

Thermals to wear under my clothes-check
Sweaters & A Pioneer Dress-check
I have a separate suitcase for our stay in the MTC (Mission Training Center) in Provo.
We have found some things that were lost.
And have gotten a few things
sorted in the garage...

A lot of Old Christmas.

I need to decide which Sewing Machine 

I'm taking on our Mission.

It will be hard to leave my Quilt Zone.

I will have one day a week to sew.

I cut out the Sewing Machine for

Quilt in A Day new Facebook BOM.

I will use gray for the green.

This is the Sample, Doll Quilt I was 

making on my Janome for 

Walla Walla Sew, Vac and Spas. 

It needs a border, and the quilting.

The pattern comes from the Farm Girl 2.

They have notified of the earlier departure.

Our Day to Report changed soon after recieving the email on Tuesday.

Long story, short. 

The Mission couple we are replacing 

leave the Mormon Trail Center at 

Historic Winter Quarters Jan 30. 

We need to be trained, so they called me Wednesday morning.

Paul has sent his letter of Resignation. 

We leave right after the New Year.

My Blogging will be less Quilty for awhile. 

I will post when I can. 

There is so much to do before we leave and you know 

Christmas is coming!

Last year, I had a Quilt, made for Jackie Robinson, in the Benartex Booth. 

My oldest son is working there. I thought seriously about going...

You know how 'Life' gets in the way??

I had to choose the better part again.

Last night was our Relief Society Meeting.

Since I'm on the committee,

that's where I was!

My friend Lucy took my Picture, but I will spare you, my Blogging Friends.

We were asked to dress up for fun. 

I wish I had lined us up for a picture.

I got the Funniest Costume with my Hula skirt and Coconuts, Sister Jenkins got Scariest with her IRS 'Tax Man' Costume.

Angie got Most Creative, I think,  

for dressing up 'French', beret and all!

We had Melanie who was dressed in her 'Gone With the Wind' dress, I saw a cowgirl and  many Witches in fun Hats and dresses, with Bows, flowy sleeves, even a nose ring. 

We really should have taken a Group shot.

I took just 2 pictures.

WOW Wednesday - Way Back Machine

When we opened our Mission Letters on the Laptop last night

I remarked that we had been there!

The year was PRE-BLOG by a year - 2007

In March 2020 we will report to the MTC and soon after we will be right back there!

On the countdown --- 131 days

I guess we'll be retaking this picture...

 The sound I made when I heard Paul read where we were going is the same sound 

I made when the Prophet announced Moses Lake was getting a Temple in April.  

We will serve for 18 months.

Our Family is already planning their Vacations.

I see on the Map that the Quilt Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska is in the Mission Boundaries.

I'll be wanting to making the drive there on one of our first Preparation days.

Monday Again- Design Wall unchanged

I have barely put in any stitches since returning from our Road trip.

Friday Blog Post was preempted by 

a Guild Bus trip to the 

Wasington State Quilters Show 

in Spokane.

My WASIQ Friends met me there.

Julie & Melissa are so fun.

They started the Washington State Internet Quilter's (WASIQ) online Guild 

with Kathy Sharman who passed away recently. 

I was good and didn't buy much.

We will be making our own versions of Persimmon Dreams pattern that we all got.

This quilt was 1 of the 3 made with the pattern, shown in Spokane.

I got the Hoffman Fabrics City scape panel and some Glide thread.

The book, sprayer, leather thimble, pony tail (bobbin) holders and candy were 

Prizes from the Bus.

I did see a few recognizable Quilts from Quiltville, Jill Finley, The Quilt Show BOM, Lori Holt & Chris, the Guilty Quilter.

I have printed all the patterns for the 40 year OLFA Anniversary Sew-Along.

This is the finished layout.

Friday was also the 12th Birthday

for our 3rd Son; Brant & Tina's oldest.

I love making the picture collages.

Wow-Wednesday I'm Back from Vacation...

I'm Back!

My body will need a few days to recover.

Just wanted to share for the Blog friends.

We left for a Roadtrip last Friday.

Portland Temple was the 1st stop, 

Well, after Chick fil-A, lol.

We miss our short drive to our Temple.

It was nice to visit Portland.

It is Beautiful!

Tillamook is on the way to the BEACH!

Grilled cheese, cheese samples, Yum bus, dairy stall restroom.

Onward to The Beaches...

We had fun, the weather was good for us. 

A little chilly, but no rain.

Lots of places to drive off and 

walk on the Beach.

I labelled pictures as I took them.

The Seaside Carousel & Ice Cream

Then there was more driving up Hwy 101

to Astoria, Oregon. 

After Church in the Warrenton Ward 

We went to change, then we climbed the

Astoria Column!

164 Steps straight up!

My goodness, I did it!!

Just amazing was the view from the top.

We saw some small birchwood planes sent off to see where they would go.

Going down was easier.

Adventures with Grandpa Paul...

Every night a new Hotel, more colors to see as we drove. Fall has come to the PNW.

Pacific Ocean is just beyond those trees!

More driving up Hwy 101 to Forks.

Monday we got up way too early to ride the Ferry to Victoria BC.

We got Tickets to see the BC Royal Museum. 

The ticket lady said we wouldn't have time to see the Museum and the Gardens. 

So one more time I would miss seeing the Buchart Gardens.

I'll share more Later about the Museum.

Friday -Flimsy Finish

I got the final Border on my

"On the Go" Quilt

This will hopefully be a class at 

Walla  Walla Sew Vac and Spas.

I made a few more blocks for the

Vintage Block along.

The tiny 9-patches turned into the 

5" Farmer's Daughter Blocks.

September Star is 8 1/2"

Then I  tried a few of these

3" Sweet as Honey blocks.

I need 10 total for this project.

I now have 13 of the 34 Weeks 

almost finished.

It's a 3 day weekend so I will be back Tuesday with Design Wall Monday.

WOW-WEDNESDAY- Vintage Block Along

I have been cutting, stitching and trimming!

So many little pieces...

I couldn't get to sleep Monday night 

and just kept cutting.

This is My WOW this week.

The Vintage Block Along continues through  the end of the year.

The number of blocks is growing. 

I'm trying to get them all done,

10 weeks of 34 completed,

so I can start this. 

I did my 1st Farm Girl Vintage this way.

Every Friday we'll get 2 Blocks 

starting November 1st. 

Today is the Birthday of Daughter-by-love 

Christen! 

So glad she likes to hang out with me.

Facebook Memories showed that it's been 5 years since I  made this Quilt for them.

Time sure flies!

Design Wall Monday - Vintage Block Along

While enjoying General Conference 

at home in my jammies...

I cut and sewed a few Blocks for the 

Vintage Block Along with Bee in My Bonnet

I ran out of the letter 'S' to set up a picture of this 6 1/2" block, lol

These 5 1/2" blocks stitched up cute.

Lori has posted these blocks from her Grandma's Sewing Basket for 34 weeks. 

I have 4 weeks sewn, 2 more cut out.

I need more Bee Background fabrics.

 I just felt the need cut out a few more to Stitch.

All the General Conference Sessions I watched were great!

I spotted my favorite singer in the Tabernacle Choir, of course.

They were singing the Primary song

Now it's a Brand New Week to think on the Talks we heard and re-read the notes taken.

Wow-Wednesday- A Beautiful Finish!

This Quilt has been in the works for over 

7 Months!

Andrea saw a picture and started cutting Diamonds, one by one she stitched them.

She did an awesome job!

Here it is on 'Betsy'

We Quilted "Sweetheart Panto 2"

with Lavender Thread. 

I like to turn the Big Purple Scissors over

to cut the Quilt off the frame.

Now that Andrea has shared it on Facebook. 

So, I made sure I could share. 

She was a good learner, I  showed her how to Trim it up, make the binding and miter the corners on the binding. 

I love sharing all I have learned to make Quilting fun and efficient!

I told her she made this Quilt the Hard way. 

Strip Quilting is much easier.
