Grandma Quilt Camp 2022

We had just 3 days to play in the fabrics.

The oldest Granddaughter has a real Job stitching at the Bridal Shop.
Middle Sister had Homework for her AP classes to do.

The 11 Year Old did pretty good with a few breaks to walk and visit with Grandpa.
Last year I gave her Pre-Cuts this year she used the Rotary Cutter More and
used my Go Baby that I won in the 2011 McCall's Design Star Contest.
She cut her Half Square Triangles with it.
Sometimes there is an OOPS Block.
She wondered why she had one triangle left over.

Her first Block. 4-patches and Half Square Triangles.
You can see there was some "Frogging" that happened to get everything where it belonged.
Fabrics chosen all from Grandma's Stash.
We played in EQ8 to find a block that used both Block parts.
After sewing the strips and cutting the 4 patches she was happy to use the Go Cutter.
Her Reveal will come later.

Sister made hundreds of tiny 3" Tri-Recs!
She calls them Triceratops.
Lots of fun fabrics in her quilt that we can't share yet...
She has learned how important it is to Press at each step.
The wings are an OLD fabric from my Stash,
Hope there is just enough for all the Tri-recs.
I give the girls a new type of Block or Block part every year.
I only have the small Tri Rec Die for the Go Baby.
She drew her own design for her Block.
Just wait until you see it.

I did take pictures of their Blocks and they are imported into the EQ8.
Sew Fun to play with my computer program and see what the Quilt will look like.
When the reveals come I can can share the EQ8 Picture and the actual Quilt.

I didn't make new Shirts this year, time was too precious.
We enjoyed a few DVD Movies while the Granddaughters were here.
Johnny Lingo is always a good one and there was a New Video
"The Legend of Johnny Lingo" between Conference Sessions
that I watched with just Elizabeth.
Pizza- all home made by the 3 of us.
Half Hawaiian and half Pepperoni and Olive.
I like to spoil them while I have them here.

We will miss the Oldest Granddaughter, who will be on her Mission later this year.
Next year, we hope their Cousin will be able to come again.

Design Wall Monday- Row By Row 2019

There was a late start on my
 Row by Row collecting.
Appointments and a visit at my house.
Walla Walla and College Place Blocks/Rows
I bought a few kits, one was for the 9th Row.
The 9th row uses a NEW die from
ACCUQUILT GO.
I got it, since it fits the Go Baby Cutter.

After Paul returned from his week at Girl's Camp,  I decided to take the opportunity to go get the Blocks/Rows in Tri-Cities  and Benton City.
I only got the Janean's Bernina Kit.
The count for  now is 7 Blocks/Rows.
What Row will be the 8 one?
I have a couple of family and friends that might pick up Row/Block patterns for me.
I like to have choices.
Meanwhile I have this week to sew the
7 Rows/Blocks that I have.
Hopefully this week will have more
Quilty activity than last week.

Happy Monday!

The Quilt Alliance- 2014 Contest Deadline

The Deadline is coming up.
You know the rule about how if it wasn't for the 'last minute', nothing would get done???
That is ME!!!
I already made a Quilt that could be eligible for this contest...that is if it was the correct size.
So... I entered it in the Mini Category over HERE

My Ocean Waves quilt is only 12" square and the guidelines for this contest is a 16" square quilt.
I need to choose a quilt from the Quilt Alliance Quilt Index HERE
to be 'inspired by'...There are a few Ocean waves quilts and Basket Quilts in there.
I love the Traditional and Vintage quilts that are there that have the stories to go with them.  Check it out.

I have some orphan blocks that I could add borders to and make something to be the right size.
Hmmmm, What to do, what to do???

The Quilt Alliance still has my entry from 2011 HERE.  I am amazed that I could find it after all these years.

For my MAY for ME this week I get to announce two Finishes!
The Celtic Christmas Solstice and QOV Quilts are Bound and Labeled.
Nabby's Dowry has been un-quilted and is ready to go back under Betsy's Needle.
Linking up with Marcia HERE.

And Good News came in my e-mail Tuesday---
They really do have Winners for Just Voting,
HERE is my Block- one week  left to VOTE!!!

Be-Ribboned -FIXED and a Roadtrip

I was looking at my BLOG Tuesday evening and saw a BIG OPPS!
One of the pinwheels in the center was turned wrong. I had to UN-Sew it and FIX it quick!  I changed the picture in the previous post so it is corrected.
This is how the Center is supposed to Look.
I had to look at both quilts side by side.
I am still writing the Pattern to submit to Accuquilt and possibly a Magazine. I chatted with Accuquilt online Tuesday instead of going out for my M & M Quilters day. I e-mailed pictures to them also.
I hope to finish the pattern writing soon and may be asking for TESTERS.
Leave me a comment if you would like to Volunteer.

Wednesday, my Friend; Marilee and I went to visit a dear Friend in Lewiston, Idaho.  It was so nice to visit her and go out to Taco Time for Lunch.  She even took us to her favorite Fabric Store where this picture was taken. Our Prayers are with her this week!
Note: the thread on my sweater?  I must be a quilter...

I'm still entering each day to WIN the GEORGE Longarm Quilting Machine at APQS .
The drawing will be sometime the week of July 1st.
