Road Trip with Army SON

I arrived Home from an unexpected Vacation Wednesday evening. I'm catching up on my Blogging and Blog Hopping.  Did you Miss me???

Last Saturday Jeff and I left to go to the Blessing of Rebekah in Alpine, Wyoming.  He had to get his U-Haul in Tri- Cities so it was a late start.  With a few stops we got there just before midnight.  I had trouble sewing the snaps on the back of her Blessing dress so there was an extra stop to buy new needles.
Here she is... Her Highness, Princess, Ballerina Rebekah Jean Crowther  as her brothers call her.  Grandma Teresa bought her the tiara and wand.

Before we left Brant's I had to stitch the label on her quilt. We drove to Clinton and spent the night at Ellen's. The Truck had some LIGHTS flashing coming into Utah so Jeff had to get it all checked out at AAMCO. Thankfully it wasn't an expensive FIX-- 2 Zipties and he was ok to continue his drive back to Missouri.   I enjoyed going out to dinner with her Mom, sister and Aunt Jane.  We went to a couple quilt shops and I didn't even buy a thing! I took this picture in the SE & Stitch. It's the Saturday Block of the Month that is coming up there.

I forgot to take a picture of her and I while there, but I took a picture of her RED EYE! It was fun to show her how to get a New Belt and Bobbins and find out that it is a Model 66 from 1920's.  I was glad to see that she has this treasure from Scott's Grandmother.

Tuesday Morning it was on to my cousins in Riverton.  This is where we parted ways.  I stayed with my cousin and Jeff drove on to visit his baby sister in Colorado.  Bye, Bye for a while!

My 30's "Star and Crown" Quilt is on the way home, YEA!  I had to send it to be quilted by Natalia Bonner in Utah.  While in Utah she posted pictures of the quilting on her Blog HERE.  I was so excited to see it quilted. I have a quilt to enter in the Walla Walla Valley September Quilt show now. I finished putting the rest of the quilt together way back in 2011. Those posts are HERE and  HERE where  it was first shown on the Blog.  2009 -2103  is way too long to wait for the finishing. Pat Speth is the Pattern designer.   Her version is shown on her website HERE.  Her method of making Nickel quilts with 5" charm squares are FUN.  Check them out. "5 Inch is a Cinch"
I'll post more about my visit when I get a copy of the picture with my cousin.

2012 Blogger's Quilt Festival

Amy's Creative Side

Amy over at Amy's Creative Side is hosting the Blogger's Quilt Festival during Quilt market again this Spring. The Button is above and on my sidebar... I've participated for many years and have been trying to make the choice of which quilt to showcase.  There are changes for this year that we get to nominate each other for winning in several categories.  To view those categories click HERE.  Plus there are Random Drawings for goodies from the companies that donate prizes to the Festival.  There are over 300 Blogs linked up as I find myself typing late on the first evening of the Festival.
Linky time goes May 18th until May 21st.
You can nominate someone ( ME!!! Hint, Hint)  May  22nd-25th.
Voting is May 26th-30th.
Winners announced on June 1st.
Sooooooo...
 which quilt am I showing????
One of my 2011 McCall's Quilt Design Star Challenge Quilts of course...

Here are the 10 fat quarters that were sent for us to use in our design.
Make that 8 of the 10, I chose not to use the Black FQ.
Pictured with my fabric choice for sashing and borders.
I was inspired by a Tile floor in the bathroom of a Quilt shop I visited during a road trip with my Sister.
I used my EQ6 to draw the original design and make the pattern.
I'm currently working on re-making this quilt using the GO-Baby by Accuquilt that
I received as my final sponsor gift.  It will be "GO- FRIENDLY"
Especially since my Daughter-by love; Tina has claimed it.
I told her when she has a baby girl, we'll see.
I love using the English Paper-piecing method for hand applique. The center appliques looked like Asterisks to me so I called the quilt Be-Ribboned Asterisk. I sent it to be quilted by Natalia Bonner at Piece n Quilt. I requested she use the swirls in the Off white background fabric of the pinwheels somehow and feathers on the scalloped border.  I love the swirls, feathers, pebbles and all the detail she did for me. I showed this quilt in Pocatello, Idaho last week-end and shortened the name to-
"Be-Ribboned".

Thanks for stopping by my Blog to see my entry in the 2012 Bloggers Quilt Festival.
