In my Mail today- & On News stands!

I had to go to a store and see if the Volume 6 Magazine was on the News stands as Promised.  YEP, There they are at one of our local Grocery stores.  I came home from Quilting at Lynn's and on my front step was this pkg and a square box! I knew what was in the box and the package is from finishing the Mystery Quilt by E-mail.  It was two Batik Fat Quarters.  I will have to re-gift them since I DON'T use BATIKS! I have a few friends that do like them so that is easy.

WHOO HOO!  My 2nd Mug from the 100 Blocks Testing!
I'm so glad I got one.

This is tonight's Block Lotto. I hurried to get it made and now it doesn't look right.  I think some un-sewing is in order.  It's called "Monkey Wrench". Haste makes big Mistakes...

This is the Basket I'm taking back to guild tonight. I think it might make some extra $$$ for the Guild Education Fund.  SEE, I put a copy of the 100 Blocks Magazine in there.

A BAD day made better...

I woke up on Monday morning and got a call that my Dentist appointment I thought was on Thursday was today, Tuesday.  DH's old clunker car went to the car repair part of the "Thread and Bolts" shop.  As I'm getting ready to go to the Dentist today, the phone rings and I find out I need to get a part.  Lynn told me where to go and how much.  The phone rings again, a bill collector for a bill I thought I'd just paid!  Anyway I made sure I had the Debit card for the Dentist and to pick up meds to keep the DH breathing, found my checkbook to pay the over due bill, and went outside---as I shut the door I realized I'd forgotten the car keys. UGGGG!!!  I was hoping to be early and get the long delayed crowns finally put on.  I called DH to ask him to come help me get back into the house so I could get the keys and go to my appointment and run all the errands.  I waited outside and  he was there before too long and let me in.  I hurried to call and make sure there was still time to be taken care of at the Dentist.  Of course they said hurry on over and they would fit me in.  These Crowns have been waiting to be finished since before the Tonsilectomy.  Thankfully they didn't have to inject and numb me at all and it was a quick appointment.  I made it longer because I took the magazine with the McCall's 2011 Quilt Design Star Winner and Finalists pictures in it. (MY copy of the McCall's Magazine still isn't here.)  So I was ready when they asked how that contest had ended and did I win...???  I am happy they asked and had to show the assistant the Dentist and the Receptionist.  They were kind and said they wished I had won.  Me too!  Oh well.
I went on and made my stops- had to order the part for the car, pay the bill and pick up the meds. DH calls and says the Ink cartridge I need to replace a bad one, is ready to be picked up.  It is on the other side of town again so I came home to get the old cartridge and will go and pick it up later, maybe tomorrow,
I'm tired. I want to go and yell at the Post office and ask where they put my magazine... :(

I think I have mentioned before that I'm  a "tester" for the 100 Quiltmaker Blocks Volume 5, coming out SOON. I am still waiting to show my blog followers the 12 Blocks I tested for Volume 5. I'll be sure and post about the QM BLOG HOP when that happens. The new Blocks for Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Volume 6 are starting to come to my Dropbox and I'm having fun choosing the fabrics again to make the blocks. While reading through e-mail I have one from the Editor of Quiltmaker, Carolyn Beam asking us to let her know when we receive our fabrics that I  got to choose to use in a quilt made from one or more blocks for Volume 6. I hear a rustle at the door and there is a box with the fabrics I chose. YEA!  I can't show you the fabrics yet either, but they are pretty.  It sure made my bad day ---a little Better.

Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Vol 1-3

I received my copy of the 100 Blocks magazine in the mail this week.  Now I have all three of them.  That means 300 blocks to inspire and dream of another quilt to make. I really am impressed by the appliqued ones and think a floral applique quilt might be my next NEW project.  Not that I need one.  I like the way the magazine is divided into sections of Pieced, Mixed Technique, Applique and Foundation Piecing.  A bonus is the patterns are all full-sized and included in the magazine centerfold.  Thanks to Quiltmaker and the Quilty Pleasures Blog for the Blog Hop and chance to win. I had fun and got to meet more Designers online. I consider the magazines a real INSPIRATION. Some days it's nice to just sit and dream.
Today I finally listened to my CD's I bought of Donny and Marie singing.  I ordered their new CD from QVC and got the "Live in VEGAS" one along with it.  Thanks Donny and Marie for making beautiful music to hear as I play in my Quilt Zone...it's almost like being there.
