It's Wednesday and yes I'm working on my Farmer's Wife... These Blocks are so fun to stitch up and use with the Bow Tie Leader/ Ender project. If my hand didn't hurt - I'd have more cut out. I'm trying to catch up to LYNN. She is working on cutting out blocks for Month 7 already.

26 Blocks completed + 3 extras. It's only the 7th of March and our Farmer's Wife Group doesn't meet until the 21st. I have 6 more cut out and 10 more to choose the fabrics for March and April. 14 days to work on them in case April gets BUSY. It is so fun to put them up on the wall and just admire them. This is my Temporary Wall that is the easiest to take photos on, at least when there aren't too many blocks. While I'm at it I am noticing which blocks are similar with the blocks I need for my 30's Sylvia's Bridal Sampler and making them too. Last night I made two Windblown Square blocks. I can swap them if the colors are too close in the other quilt. Similar blocks are in the Civil War and Civil War Diary Quilts books. How many quilts do I really want to make with 6.5" Blocks? That is the Question... I have found 22-25 Blocks so far that are the same block formation, but called by a different name in the SBS. Very Interesting to me.
Here are a few of them---
Blocks in Farmers Wife and SBS
Broken Dishes
Windblown Square
Weathervane
Churn Dash
Contrary Wife
Cut Glass Dish
Friendship Star
Snail's Trail
Economy
Wedding Ring
The ones called a different name but 'look' the same.

Northern Lights (FW) / Sickle (SBS)
Big Dipper (FW) / Yankee Puzzle (SBS)
Checkerboard (FW) / Grandmother's Pride (SBS) [color placement]
Evening Star (FW) / Sawtooth Star (SBS)
Friendship Block (FW) / Friendship Quilt (SBS)
Homeward Bound (FW) / Puss in the Corner (SBS)

The Bowtie and Spool blocks 'look' the same in both quilts but are constructed differently.
Take a look and you can see the differences too.
