Design Wall Monday- November 2, 2015

Whoa, where did October GO???
My Goals for the month went awry for good reasons.
October Goals
1- Make Blocks for Guild and BOW. Made the BOM Block but didn't go to Guild
2- Finish the Vacation Time setting blocks- Flimsy- ???
3- Make some more Moth in the Window Blocks- Chose more shirts to incorporate.
4- Sew the #2 Grand Illusion Blocks into a Flimsy - ???
5-work on Christmas, (can't show that but I'm started on it.) YES,
I want to have some Christmas Gifts to deliver this coming week-end.

My Block Count was only 12 this month.
Mostly Farmer's Wife 1930's blocks.

The good news is "Betsy" is FIXED!
An in home service call was needed and after a couple of hours,
 Betsy is working correctly again.
I tested on some extra yardage I had hanging around, then I put my "Cascadia" on.
I tried pinning it down, not the best way with a small quilt. I couldn't clamp the edges.
I tried out using my new ruler.
Way too many seams to cross made that harder.
We will see if I take it all out or not. NO PICS!

Here's my Now and Then
Halloween Picture.

Me in 2015 and way back for my TBT (Throwback Thursday) in 1977

We have a Trunk or Treat every year in the LDS Church Parking Lot.
I'm dressed as a "Quilt Princess".
Crazy I know!
When I got the licence plate from Moses Lake this year for the Row by Row---
I had to make good use of it.
A Glow in the dark Crown from JoAnn's and a Polka Dot skirt with blocks pinned on completed
the outfit.  I had to hang my Sew-in time Quilt on the trunk.
It says, "Winter - Spring - Summer - Fall, doesn't matter to me at all
It's Sew-in Time"
DH (Paul) was still working so he didn't get in on it this year.
My Ninja family came by as I ran out of Candy.
(thanks to Noel for taking our Picture)
The Goodson's went ALL OUT this year. Cowabunga!

November Goals
1- Finish some Christmas Gifts
2- Make Blocks of the week for Farmer's Wife 1930's
3- Start the new Quiltville Mystery- Day after Thanksgiving
The Fabric Requirements are HERE.  I got my Color Cards!

Mid- Month Report -late...

My NOVEMBER Goals are:
1- Borders on Midnight Flight-  I have some parts pieced for the Border.
2- Make Pieced Sashings for ALOHA LUS - haven't work on these, much
3- Block of the Week - Loyal Union Sampler - kept up with the BOW
My Loyal Union Sampler Blocks for November so far

I have worked on some of last month's goals as well---

1- Parcheezi- to flimsy- [almost there] Trimmed and ready to sew to flimsy - Borders cut
2- Midnight Flight Blocks, sew 3 more blocks- Flimsy - Pieced Borders worked on.
3- Nabby's Dowry - Flimsy - Borders cut
4- Sept NewFO- ALOHA LUS - blocks are DONE
5- SBS Star Swap - Need's final border-Flimsy- Borders and Binding Cut

I took a day to go and cut out the parts I needed for the Borders of the Parcheezi, SBS Sarah Choice Swap and the Nabby's Dowry. Sewing these 3 quilts to Flimsy will go quickly now.
I cut Binding while I was at it.
The Midnight Flight Border pieces were troublesome at first.
The one on the left is CORRECT...
I wasn't sure how I had the 4-patch aligned for the finished piece.
Luckily they are all going in the same direction, so I'm going with them going this way.
I could still change and put the blue to the outside.

My Lori Holt Quilty Fun SAL is my NewFO for November.  I've kept up with it also.

The link takes you to the main page of the SAL over at the Jolly Jabber Blog.
