New Finishes for 2022 Walla Walla Quilt Festival

It's Quilt Festival Time!!!
I'm excited to go and sit with Quilty Friends welcoming Quilters to the Festival
It's been 3 years since the Festival was held.
It got cancelled last year again.

I went to Utah for "Garden of Quilts" instead.
I am missing some fun in Utah this weekend for sure.
I know Deonn is there!
I caught this picture with her as she was leaving the parking lot.
Jenny Doan with her Girls, Melissa Corry, Cindy Cloward, Kris and all the Girlfriends,
and many others.

My Friend Wendy is at Sylvia's in sunny California this weekend.

These are the Quilts that were quilted and
entered in the Walla Walla Valley Quilt Festival.

Happy Quilting Blog
I started this in 2019 before we left for Nebraska.
So only 3 years a UFO at home.

"Crayons"
Blocks won from Walla Walla Valley Quilt Guild
It's a UFO from 2008
When I first started Blogging.
14 years!

Tomorrow is National Sew and Jelly Roll Day
It's National Sewing Month
In 2018 I got this Jelly roll from Walla Walla Sew Vac & Spas for a Contest.

I used a few select colors for this Quilt.
I love all the Polka dots.
I think I have another idea of something to sew this year with the rest of it.

It is sew fun to finally Quilt.
My Quilty Time since I got home has been less than I want.
We're so glad we went when we did.

Next weekend we get to see our
Mormon Trail Center Senior Missionaries
Who served with us through that crazy year 2020
and Covid closing everything down.

Ready Set Quilt Festival Time Coming

I took the last Quilt off 'Betsy' last night and
tried to find the best Blue for it.
Blues are so hard to match.
Made a Quilt Shop run just before closing.
No luck finding the fabric I used for the Border.
The light blue was my first attempt...
Nope, not enough strips to go around.
The Shadow Play was found in a small tote.
Hope I don't need it for THAT project.
It is an older Dye lot.
The Jenny Iron is an overkill on that wool mat.

This was the Wild Backing I found in the STASH.

Binding #2 stitched while watching TV.
My favorite part of the process.
Label in the Corner.
Thanks so much Melissa-Happy Quilting.
'On The Go' is Done in less that 3 years.
I first Blogged it September 9th 2019.

3 Quilts and a Challenge Block, ready to deliver.

Upside-down picture, oops 😬

It's a rest day for Betsy, going to the Temple.

Design Wall/Floor Monday- Webbed one-way

Even with a busy Travel day,
I had time to web the sashings for
'On the Go' quilt one-way.
The sashing helps the quilt get bigger.
I'll need to clip the webbed strings and add the long sashings and then do borders.
I'm liking the arrangement since I left it
In the floor.
Lots of moving colors around.

Saturday started at a Football game.
The weather was chilly and I was thankful Paul reminded me to bring a coat.
We put in 2 Quilts as well.
They were shared with DD#2 family.
I don't know if they Won!
We left to head up to the Memorial for Paul's Neighbor & Classmate in Mesa.
1st stop was to place some Autumn flowers
On Mom & Dad Crowther's Grave.

His Sister, 3 niece's and Brother were there.
4 little grandnephews, too.
They were grateful Uncle Paul and I brought quilts to share. BowTie L/E and Jack of Hearts mystery by Heather that was made for Paul's Mother.
Under the black coat there is a baby.
That westerly wind brought the Chill!
Lots of memories of this Classmate and Neighbor were told and a favorite song was shared by his wife and daughter.
"Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum.
Sung by the Eagles.
I thought it was a Creedence Clearwater Revival song from the 70's.
It was too cold to stay and eat the food.
We all filled a plate and took it in our cars.

Paul drove by our old place, where all of our children were brought after they were born.
43 years ago the trees weren't there.
See how they tower over the house?
And the sagging roof on the old Shed.
The circles have replaced the Syphon tubes that watered this field.
Driving down a memory lane!

Design Wall Monday- 1st Day of Fall

My friends who Love Fall...
I apologize!
I'm not a fan.
I love the holiday season but Fall colors,
Not so much.
I did get a few stitches in last week.
More "On the Go" Blocks.
Cut, sew, press, trim, Repeat.
 See previous posts.
It was busy with other things.

Brown Sisters at Spokane Temple
Our Hubby's got to come too.
It's been 18 years since I was there.
I will not complain about the 1 hour drive to Columbia River Temple ever again!
Long drive to and from filled our Saturday.

These crops are still not ready for Fall.
Tomatoes for Chili Sauce,  Fall is for harvest.
Our Corn was planted late.
So I say Fall can wait!!
Quilting on the Dryside Shop Hop starts this coming Thursday.
Happy Monday, anyway.

Design Wall Monday- New, Fun Stuff

I have been Blog Hopping and got a bit off track at Happy Quilting HERE.
My Facebook and Instagram friends
 saw this last Friday.
I ordered a NEW iron.
It came and I love it!
It's Cordless and it's PURPLE!
Perfect for pressing HSTs.
I used some 'Paintbox' fat Quarters instead of Charm Squares for my Arrows.
I can stitch up multiples and make a
bigger quilt, right?
Those Grandsons might like it.
Not too flowery,  bold, bright solids.
I have made enough for 8 bigger Blocks.
I think I will need 24 or 36.
It was a distraction on a Stay-at-Home day.
This Squishie arrived from Quilt in a Day.
I signed up for the Mini Block Party
 this Summer.
Each month has brought a new pattern and for September,  though late for the August Facebook Live/YouTube Block party.
It's Eleanor's new fabric line called
Zelie Ann, named after her old
Hometown 'Zelienople' in Pennsylvania.
It's my Busy, get Ready for the
Walla  Walla Quilt Festival Week.
Daughters of Utah Pioneers starts back up today, Tuesday is WW Quilt Guild.
I missed it last month for a Sweets Game, lol.
Thursday is set-up day, Friday Quilt Festival begins at 10am.
Quilts were delivered along with my Challenge Block.
The Granddaughters will come on Saturday.
Our Temple is closed for 6 weeks so I can Spend Saturdays doing other fun things.
Oh, do I have plans!
The BLOG-O-VERSARY prizes have been recieved, Thanks for letting me know that they came right on time.
USPS delivers on time everywhere
 except to Wyoming.
Have a great Monday!
