Saturday Stitching

Today's  #IGQUILTFEST2023 is Quilty Hands.

I had to stitch 3 lengths of this fun Zebra Flannel for the backing of Rhododendron Trail.
Measure twice, cut once!
My 120 measuring tape broke so I had to buy a new one, not retractable, bummer.
But,  It is Purple!!

Rhododendron Trail Mystery Quilt is ready to be Quilted today. Hurray!!!
Only a year behind...wish me luck with Betsy!
I snapped a part off, but was able to use one off the bottom leader pole,
I don't use it much.
Floating is easier now.
I ❤️ how fast I can load a quilt with
the Red Snappers.
Now to find a pattern to fit right.
Maybe "Breath of the Gods" by Apricot Moon

I got the binding on the 2022 Riley Blake Block Challenge Quilt!
The different fabric is more at the top.
I can live with it.
I wish Pomeroy wasn't an hour away.
I should have bought more when I was there.
The borders aren't as big as I planned.
Quilt Measurements for the Quilt Show
 are incorrect now.
It's big enough to fit my Queen sized bed.
Quilted with Ginger Snap Panto by Apricot Moon.

I might get all my Quilts entered in the Tri-Cities Quilt Show yet!
Need to make Hanging sleeves for 2 of them.
Road trip stitching week after next.
3 weeks from yesterday is the Show!

We made it through 2022!!!!

LOL, I made another rhyme!
I didn't have as many Finishes in 2022 as I would have liked.
Hope I can get into the Quilt Zone a little more often to Quilt in 2023!
January was for lots of SQUIRRELS & NEW Projects.

In February I quilted this scrappy 4-Patch for a Donation Quilt at Walla Walla Valley Quilt Guild.

These two were Quilted on my Embroidery Machine with CBT (Clear Blue Tiles)

Antique Lace Mini made with a baggies full of bonus hsts for the Quilt show Black and White with one Color Challenge. Of Course my added color was Purple.
Spring Wall Decor from My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe.

I quilted this Train Quilt for Sister Alder to give President Alder.

March Deadlines meant getting the Granddaughters Quilts ready for the Quilt Show.
Elizabeth's 5th Grandma Quilt "Gate of Roses" and Abby's 1st "Fenced in Flowers"

The 2022 Grandma Camp Quilts aren't flimsies yet.
They did make a Christmas Quilt that I need to Quilt and Bind.
It didn't get done before Sister Ransom left on her Mission.

April I got the Quilt finished for the Bennetts

She hung it above the Desk in the Mormon Trail Center.
Now if I could just get mine done...

September was Walla Walla Quilt Festival time again!

Happy Quilting Blog
I started this in 2019 before we left for Nebraska.
So only 3 years a UFO at home.

I had to play a Quilt-y Ghost with my Flimsy of Last Year's Quiltville Mystery.
It''s in the wait to be Quilted pile with all the rest of my 2022 projects.

The 2022 Quiltville Mystery is still in the works,
"Chilhowie"
I have one block made for Part 5 and Part 6 came out yesterday.
I had to finish stitching Part 3 to start Part 6
The year is almost over, but I will be stitching or trimming through the Ball Drop.

WOW - Wednesday - What I'm Working on still...

I did get a semi-Flimsy Snow Picture on our 4" that fell Saturday.
This corner has been fixed, two of the same blocks are in that bottom row, oops!

I moved a bunch around and this is what it looked like when I took the Design Wall down.
Sorry, I didn't get the photo Cropped. Yes the Nativities are still up in the BIG Bookcase.
I turned the whole Quilt around so the Corner that was at the Bottom is Up in the Left corner now.

So much "frogging" happened again yesterday. I feel like a broken record...
Tried to get those same blocks to not be all in a row.
Tula Pink, Polka Dots, Fairy Frost and Shadow Play just kept showing up too close.
I needed more variety in my sets of that clue 5.

Monday was Quilt Guild in Tri-cities.
I went and had fun learning the Bullion Stitch to make this cute thing
Isn't that Bee the cutest??
We learned about Transfer Eze, found on Amazon.

Before I took the Design Wall completely apart, I had to put up this Quilt
I got it at the Symposium last week.
It was with the Table of FREE STUFF from a lady who died.
Not sure how old it really is, but I want to Hand Quilt it.
It's is all done by hand and have you seen this setting before??
I learned it is called Honeycomb. Maybe 1890 - 1910's
They used to be called Mosaic Quilts.
I love the Antiques FB Group, they are so helpful.

My Childhood Friend, Debby was going to come visit today.
Plans changed, and I have a day to catch up on the Riley Blake Challenge Blocks
Block 13 was released yesterday.
I still need to remake the 2nd and 3rd block with the Confetti Cottons.

What are you working on???
The day might have rain but that is what makes the Flowers grow.
NO MORE SNOW!

Grandma's Turn on the Design Wall - Snow Day

It SNOWED in April twice this week.
Paul woke me up to tell me it was Snowing.
I always like to get a snow picture of my Quiltville Mystery.
The mysteries happen over the Winter - so it is fitting, right?
I had almost all the blocks made. The block parts were all done.
I have laid it out once, and put it away. We needed the Floor.
After I put up the Design Wall for Abby to use at Grandma Quilt Camp, I left it up.
Had to move it away from the front door area.
This is how it looked last night before I went to sleep.
I played with my Selfie Stick for the photo below.

Wearing my Shirt from ZAZZLE.

I stitched all day and never did get a Snow Picture.
It all melted.
I forgot to stop and EAT all day.

The blocks are rearranged again today.
My Fussy cuts from Tula Pink, pretty shiny, Fairy Frosts, and the Polka Dots needed to be spread out.
Unstitching and re-sewing was my job today.
I ran out of the Sashing Fabric. I used a 2" sashing, maybe that's why I ran out.
I ordered a backing fabric I hoped would work.
The fabric is so much different that regular Quilt store Quality.
None in the LQS, have to wait for a mail order. Hope it matches ok.
My design wall isn't big enough for the whole thing.
It's the reason I love a reveal in the Snow.

We went to watch a grandson play baseball in Walla Walla. I'm still trying to get warm.
Even with 3 throw sized blankets and a Quilt.
There's another chance for that DH tells me.
We might not be able to go watch a Baseball game in Tri-Cites tomorrow.

Marshmallow Easter Eggs ready for dipping.
Mini Nilla wafers turn a few into eclairs.

This show up on my step. I'd forgotten I'd ordered it.
Purple, like an Easter color of Pastel.
It will hold my Sewing machine when I travel next time for a Sew Day.
Room inside for a tote of fabric too.

HAPPY EASTER!
