Row by Row 2023

Yesterday's stitching.
I am reminded of why I DON"T do Paper-Pieced Projects!
Gotta fix that stem border too.

Waiting for the Quilt Shoppe to open.
edited to add: Stash Quilt Shop in town didn't open 11am and Sew Vac N Spas didn't have it.
How many shades of Green Grunge do I need to finish this year's Quilt?
Evidently just the one I didn't have enough of.

Row by Row 2023- one Paper-pieced flower at a time
I wonder if the center is supposed to be this way?

The Pink didn't match up like it was supposed to.
Not doing it over again...Just saying!

Today I get to stay home and stitch, after my Chiro appointment.
Thank goodness for Text Reminders!
Oh and a stop at the Quilt store.

Hope to get the Row by Row finished and turned in this week.
July 1st is coming up quickly.

Busy Pj Stitching My Row by Rows

I have stayed in Pj's the past two days putting more of my Row by Rows together.
I have collected enough Patterns to have a choice of which rows to include.
If I collect more I'll make a 2nd quilt.

These two went together fairly quick!
Then I started cutting and piecing the 220 pieces for the Leavenworth Row (below)
I laid them out on my Long Design Board I used to use for Quilt Guild.

The 3 piece units - Connecting the two Mountains here, took some figuring out.
 Whew!!! It is DONE!
I only have to un-sew a few places that got turned wrong...

4 Rows Finished -Tuesday afternoon.
These aren't in the order I'm assembling the rows.

After working on the hardest row, I took time to make this week's BOW for my Loyal Union Sampler
D-4 Farm in the Valley

While I watched QuiltCAM on Quiltville.com,
I cut out the Pieces to make the Row my Son picked up for me in Ephrata @ the Fabric Patch.
The hardest part was finding Blue fabric for the backgrounds.
I put the Wheelbarrow in the Summer part, and added White Clouds.
This one will have some embellishments (buttons) added after it is quilted.

3 More rows left to make and then I can quilt it and take it up to a Quilt Shop in Tri-Cities or Oregon.
I haven't noticed any winners LOCALLY yet. I have 3 stores to check that are an hours drive.
Wish me Luck!!!

EDIT: My Tester Quilt is assembled. YEA!
I can get dressed now!

Design Wall Monday- July 21, 2014

I finally got the 8th Row by Row Pattern with a Lot of help from my SON and a few friends.
This one is Amelia's -I bought the kit.
She said she was at Sister's last Saturday when I tried to get it.

The one from Oregon is done.

Now the choice is whether to include the ones from Illinois in my Quilt...HMMMMMM
These 2 are from Illnois
(Pictures by Wendy)

I will have to see how fast I get all of the Rows done.
The Plates are the Best part of this HOP. I have collected a few.
 I'm thinking I really don't need the 25 FQ's Prize anyway.
I can make a Bigger quilt just for Fun!

I didn't go to Sisters but The Quilt Show shared this SmileBox slideshow HERE so I thought I'd share it.

I spent Friday night being Grandma at DD#1 house.
She needed to work and her DH was on a Youth Retreat.
It's fun to see the children growing up. The 2 oldest girls sat and stitched with me.
I had to take a picture of them still stitching Saturday before I left.

They did Cross Stitch and I tacked down the binding on DD#1 LadyBug quilt.

I had to get a picture of Her son reading to his little sister.
I stayed up TOO late chatting with DD after she got home.
Thanks for the Chocolate late night snack, NaDell!

It's Pioneer Week in Utah. A State Holiday!!! Wish I was there to Celebrate!!

Linking up HERE for DWM.

I finished the Flimsy of my Market Day

2- Make M & C Quilt Blocks x 61 -One Block is sewn together!
(So I don't sew it WRONG!)

I cut out the Pieces to work on the rest of these blocks at a Retreat!
I hope that I can get most of M & C's quilt blocks sewn at the Retreat then I can work on my sisters DWR.
There are other projects I may take with me in case I get bored...

3- Join the  Cut - Press - Sew - Quilt SAL HERE
Fabrics are still waiting...

I made fairly easy goals this month, LOL.
Add on goal- 4- I have sewn on a "Tester" Quilt and it is almost done-  ahead of the Deadline next week. :)
Add on Goal -5 Row by Row Experience - Iv'e had a LOT of help gathering the row patterns and License plates!!
I think I'll name it "Collecting with Friends"
THANKS!!!

I made up a sample layout for those Lotto Blocks I won at Guild.
I got the brainy idea that they would make great alternate blocks for the rest of my sample Lotto Blocks.
What do you think?? Green?

Below is just using last years blocks

HMMMMMM...What to do???
Happy FRIDAY!!
See you back here for Design Wall Monday!

Design Wall Monday & 2nd Weekend of Summer - July 14, 2014

It was a Wild Weekend of Activity- not quite what I had hoped to be doing,
but we made the best choice in the end. I hear that Sister's was HOT!!!
For my DWM post I have to share my ROW BY ROW project that will be worked on very soon.
I'm still collecting the rows. It takes at least 8 to make a quilt for the contest.
It's hard to collect them when NO Local (LQS) stores are participating.

These Patterns arrived by Mail from my Friend; Wendy T. in Illinois and from my #1 Son who was travelling through a couple places that had the row by rows.  He really must love me.  (HUGS)
His sisters gave him a hard time about being my "enabler" on Facebook.
I am very grateful for them helping me get a few of the patterns.

MY RANT...The store that I've tried twice to pick up the Pattern was closed on Saturday when we drove up there. Sign on her door said Tuesday- Saturday. I guess I won't have her row in my quilt. :(
RANT #2 the License plates cost $5 and most stores have made a kit with their Patterns and charge for them. So much for a FREE pattern...just saying.
(note to self- when the kit is offered over the phone and payment is needed-
be sure to ask if the fabrics are BATIK- UGGGG!
I think I'm calling the store to ask if I can return the kit minus the pattern for a refund.
Yes, I DIS-LIKE Batiks that much!!!

I picked two of them, (one with the licence plate) up while we were in Kennewick for our #1 Grandson's Ordination - he is 14 and now a Teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood.
The ride there was precarious and I can only THANK a loving Heavenly Father for protecting us.
Our meetings got through at 11:30 am.
That gives us 1 1/2 hours to get to their Ward for meetings at 1pm in Kennewick on a good day.
At the Wallula Juction this accident had traffic backed up on HWY 12- We were in that backed up traffic.
(Note: 3 critically injured in this collision)

Photo: Reader Anthony Ubelhor sent in this photo of a crash around 11:30 a.m. Sunday near where Highway 12 and Highway 730 meet south of Pasco
We texted ahead to let the boys know we would be late. Long story, short---The fire was out when we passed by but the road to get to Oregon was totally blocked still.  We got to the meeting in time to hear two grandsons bear their Testimonies and to listen to our Daughter by Love and #1 son give great Talks.
The ordination happened following that meeting and we headed back home.
My only regret is NO pictures of the grandchildren this week-end - they are only in my mind.

I took No pictures at the Two Musical performances I attended this week-end.
Friday I went to Fiddler with Paul and Saturday I got to see The Sound of Music with DD#1 and her 2 oldest girls. My DD #1 Blogged about The Sound of Music HERE.
I've had my Culture for the Summer now- onward to my Quilting FUN.

Happy 4th of July

It's Friday the 4th of July and I am happy to Celebrate by SEWING all day!
It all started last night with a cutting and sewing session instead of attending the Sweets Baseball game. :(

I picked up 2 of the 3 Row by Row Experience that are local (sort of) on Wednesday.
I stitched up the row I got at Aunty Ida's in Hermiston, Oregon
HERE is the link for the stores in Oregon.

If I was going to Sisters next week I could get a few more...
even a few of the License plates that some shops have designed.
Anyone want to go with me???

I have to Paper Piece the Row from Quiltmania in Richland, Washington.
That might happen today since it is Stars and the fabric is R, W & B
HERE is the link for Washington Shops.

My Good Friend in Illinois is picking up some that are in her area for me.
She sent me pictures a couple of them, I can hardly wait to make them.

My Globetrotting Block for July is Done.
 Sydney, Austalia
A place I've never been but I would love to go someday...

I finished binding the last of the Quilts for my LQS and delivered them.

I will work on my Pam Buda blocks when she shows the REVEAL today.
My BOW for my Loyal Union Sampler is Due by Midnight Friday.

After a week away from home I'm happy to be able to SEW!
