WOW- Wednesday

January 10th brings Memories flooding to my mind.
It's my sweet Mommas Birthday
Born the 2nd daughter of seven children.
She was her daddy's girl.

Her High School Photo
She didn't graduate, she married my daddy instead.

Her we are at our Wedding Reception.
Little did we know how long we would have her.
It was a Beautiful evening for me as a New Bride.

I woke up to This...
It didn't help the days mood.
Thankfully it melted already.
I stayed home.
It gives me flashbacks of Omaha winters.

4 Years go we were here.
Dinner with my Neice at Kneaders in Heber, Utah
On our way to our Mission in  Omaha, I Nebraska.
It seems like yesterday.

My Indigo Mystery is not too far along.
I had to lay a few blocks out to see how they look.

No more clues to come.
Bonnie is headed to New Zealand with Craft Tours.

I have a few more boxes for Nativities to put away.
The tree is bare except for the garland and Angel.
I counted the nativities as I took them off the tree.
65 Nativities, 16 Stars, 12 Angels, & 3 lambs.
Shelf Nativities count was 30.

As I am putting things away, I had to count all of my Chuck the Ducks
Missouri Star Flat Chucks.

5 More days until I turn one year older.
I am feeling older already.
How many Naps did I take today?
I'll never tell.

Have a great week!

Quiltville Mystery Link-up and Design Wall Monday - December 12, 2016

It's a SNOW DAY/SEW DAY/Grandma Day
No School and I'm not venturing out on slick roads!
I'm combining my Design Wall Monday with the Quiltville Link-UP
I didn't get much stitching done over the weekend so I was up early to sew.
Then I got the call that I was needed-
Here are my purples I chose.  Some are being changed out.

I got just a few strips sewn before the snowbunnies came for the day.

 Clue 1 -3
The Lavendar and my Constant are looking pretty close.
I might have to re-think the constant.

I have a LOT of cutting, sewing and trimming to do while I'm snowbound.

                                                    Monday measuring of the SNOW
Almost up to the 7" line.

Grandma's car is snowed in.
Daughters of Utah Pioneers Luncheon will be missed today also.
No need to go anywhere as long as we have the WHITE stuff falling.

First Friday of December

It's Finally Friday!
The second Clue for the Quiltville Mystery will be found HERE.

I've had a Christmas-y Week.
I usually wait for the first Monday after the
1st Presidency Broadcast from Temple Square in Salt Lake.
Each year the Nativity is the first decoration to be set out.
I put up my Mother-by-Love's Nativity under my china hutch.
I was touched when I saw that Paul brought this home for me from his parents home.
I have many I could display but this one needed to be shown off!!!

Next this year was the outside lights!

In spite of my nagging, Dear Hubby did put them up while he had time off work.
It's been a while since I got him to put them up for me.
He kept saying "It's only the 2nd of December, " LOL
We happened to do it on the coldest day of the year.
I helped him...

We went to see the Mini Trees at the Marcus Whitman Hotel
I took pictures of just a few.

I got inspired to put my tree up and decorate!
But first we had to move some furniture.
Just waiting for the Gifts to come.
Since my class cancelled I had the evening free.
I put the smaller tree up on the commode table again this year.
It helps keep the little ones away, right?
It also leaves more floor space for chairs for the gathering to come.
Christmas Day is at my house this year.
The 4 families that live close will all come.
That will be 12 Adults and 14 Children.
Yes a HOUSEFUL!!!

This family took the SNOW DAY and played at the park then came to play in our snow filled yard.

After throwing lots of snowballs at Grandpa and I.
They built a snowman for us.

I provided the carrot nose and dead batteries for the eyes, couldn't forget the Coyotes Stocking Hat.
It's good we took the pictures because it didn't last too long.
It's so nice that they live in town again!
The Christmas Quilts are out and  I will slowly add to the decor as I find stuff I want to share.

Happy, Merry Christmas from our House to yours!
