Quiltville Mystery Link-up #4 and Design Wall Monday - December 19, 2016

It's a MONDAY around Here!
I didn't get to work on Clue 4 until today.
Last week was full of SNOW Shoveling, Grandma Time and Goodie making.
My Activities Calendar is FULL!  It's a good thing, really.

Imagine my Horror to find I have run out of my Neutral, the White Fairy Frost.
So sad I didn't realize in time to buy some last week.
My trips venturing out have been few.

So I have just 4 of Clue 4 made
76 more to sew
My Clue 2 needs more of the Neutral also.
I will get more fabric once the LQS opens today.
The New Baby Quilt used up the fabric I thought I had for the En Provence.
I will show the 4 Clues again. How are the colors looking?

Just for the Record I will leave you with some the Goodies I've been making.
Don't drool on your Screen, LOL
Some of these went to my Tri-cities/ Zillah Children this week.
Welcome home to MILTON!!!
We were happy to see all of the Grandchildren when we delivered our Goodies.
A pleasure to be entertained by the Ransom Children.
V played the Piano and O played her violin & Piano
Then the 3 youngest sang for us.

Walla Walla 3rd Ward Christmas Party was on Friday.
As predicted my Tray was the first one EMPTY.
It was well breathed on by the Young ones before the Opening Prayer was offered.
The program from our Youth - the Nativity
I Loved the Lambs especially!
The Primary Choir had a front row view.

Christmas will be here in just 5 more SLEEPS!
There has been a change of Plans-  3 of my Families are coming for Christmas Dinner.

Quiltville Mystery Link-up and Design Wall Monday - December 12, 2016

It's a SNOW DAY/SEW DAY/Grandma Day
No School and I'm not venturing out on slick roads!
I'm combining my Design Wall Monday with the Quiltville Link-UP
I didn't get much stitching done over the weekend so I was up early to sew.
Then I got the call that I was needed-
Here are my purples I chose.  Some are being changed out.

I got just a few strips sewn before the snowbunnies came for the day.

 Clue 1 -3
The Lavendar and my Constant are looking pretty close.
I might have to re-think the constant.

I have a LOT of cutting, sewing and trimming to do while I'm snowbound.

                                                    Monday measuring of the SNOW
Almost up to the 7" line.

Grandma's car is snowed in.
Daughters of Utah Pioneers Luncheon will be missed today also.
No need to go anywhere as long as we have the WHITE stuff falling.

Design Wall Monday & 2016 Mystery Link-up

Not much to show on the Design Wall today.
Too many events that took me away from my Quilting Zone.
It's the 2nd Link- up Day for the 2016 En Provence Mystery over at Quiltville.
Click HERE for all the Clues
I got up early to get a few made.
My constant is a lighter Pink than the Magenta in the paint chip.

Had to check for how many I could make with each strip.
These will all be the same.
I'm using my STASH of Michael Miller Fairy Frosts.
This Mystery will "Sparkle"
I needed to find more of my 2nd Neutral.
I found Fat Quarters but no more Yardage at my LQS.
Hopefully I have enough to finish the 1st clue.

I have other Secret Stitching going on when I have a chance.
Only 20 days left to get it all DONE!
Snow in the forecast, so I might get grounded, then I can SEW without guilt.
How is your Christmas Stitching going?

Design Wall Monday - November 28, 2016

I decided that my Tula Blocks deserved their own Link-up day over at Judy L's HERE
This is a double link-up posting day!
Which post will get the most Comments and looks?

100 Days 100 Blocks is DONE!
Here are all the blocks together. It wasn't easy to get them all in one picture.

I am still choosing the layout and color of sashing.
Here are the two layouts I'm choosing from.
I saw this Quilter's Alphabet and had to put it on my Blog

Design Wall/Floor Monday- November 21, 2016

I have a VERY Old UFO on my Wall/Floor today.
It has been hiding in the Garage since the move.
This project was packed way back in 2004 when we were getting ready to move to Walla Walla.
I thought I knew where it was and have wondered which box had it inside.
Occasionally over the 12 years, I've brought in a random box, hoping it contained my Project.
We were moving and re-arranging for the company expected this week-end.
The stack of Luggage was pulled away from the shelves so I had another chance to look on Saturday.
I thought it was lost and gone forever...
Alas it wasn't on the top of the Project box.
A few other treasures were uncovered before my BIG find!
It was like a Time Capsule. Circa 2003-4
A project from a 2003 Shop Hop was in there too.
Some Super Saturday Christmas kits were found and Jingle Bells and ribbons.
WOW, it took me WAY Back.
I squealed and jumped up and down.
It was just a stack of Blocks but all the sashings were cut, the Seminole border is ready to sew,
 even the Border is cut.
It doesn't smell very good, but I hurried and got the center sewn together.
 Paul took a nap.
Not a bad day of Catch-up stitching after a week of vacation.
I have over 100 pictures to edit and share.
Come back to see the FUN we had in Las Vegas.

I also sewed more of the Tula Blocks.
I am SO close to the end.
100 Days 100 Blocks ends on Thursday.

I should be headed out to my Tri-City Quilt Guild...
My body and the Fog warnings til NOON tell me this meeting isn't going to happen for me.
There are many more things to get done before the Family Gathers for Thanksgiving.

Design Wall Monday November 14, 2016

Here is the December Bench Pillow/ Table Runner
The class will be December 15th 4-8pm. @ Sew n Vac & Spas.
I shared it at Guild and we would have done it this month but I was late getting it finished.
You need 1/3 yard of background + 8 Fat Quarters.
The back uses the part of the Fat Quarters used in the making of the front.

I used "Terial Magic" rather than the Fusible.
I like the way it worked for this project.
This is a Kimberbell design.

I am almost done with the Tula PInk 100 Days 100 Blocks.
Blocks 81-90
Just 10 Blocks left to sew.

I'll need to choose a sashing next and get this one to a Flimsy.
Suggestions?

Design Wall Monday - November 7,2016

I am happy to report the Sewing/Quilt Zone is getting some action!
Finally got to where I could see to Cut and Sew.
I had to lay my 80 Tula Pink Blocks out after I saw Julie H from Idaho show hers.
Just 20 more to make, 17 by the time this posts.
This one finishes just before Thanksgiving.

I couldn't  find blocks 61-70 at first.
I searched upstairs and downstairs.
They were hiding under my stack of TO-DO's in the Living room.
I have some of them on my list of goals, HERE,

A couple of them got crossed off this past week.
It feels good to finish a long term project of the year before the Quiltville Mystery Starts.

I have more UFO's than I have Months left in the Year.
I'll be taking Quilting Time to work on Christmas til the end of November.
The Mystery might be all you see in December.

Design Wall/Floor Monday - October 31, 2016

It's the end of October and I have Pat Sloan & Tula Pink on my Design Wall/Floor.
All of my 12 Blocks for this BOM are Finished.

It didn't make it to a "Flimsy" for the OMG, oh well.
Some months just go that way.

I added more Tula Pink Blocks to the stack.
My Block Count for October is better than the last.
Total Blocks = 72

It's Halloween in the USA and we already Celebrated with the Kiddos at the Trunk or Treat.
Here's our 2016 Costumes
Thank heavens for battery Operated lights, a Sunshine Generation BOw tie & a Burger King Crown.
1975 Prom dress, Mom's Shawl, Earings & my Tiara.
Here are the local Grand sons who came with us.
A Firefighter and a Grim Reaper, his mask is on backwards for the picture.
No masks allowed, we want to see who it is.

Design Wall Monday - October 24, 2016

Lori's Humble Quilt SAL is on the Design Floor today.
 She calls it "Quilter's Madder"
I got some of the blocks made but need to finish the last half blocks for the outside edge.
I can still move them around at this point.
Her Finale is HERE

I  had some time to myself and decided to play with some Cushion making.
I didn't get much during the week.
It's been a while since I did any Piping and tried to put in a Zipper.
They look a bit crooked but I think they will work for my Sister's new Reading spot.
There are 4 different little window seats in her new place.
These worked up fairly fast.
The stuffing of the foam inside took a bit of patience.
  The longer Zipper helped.
I used two different fabrics so they are sort of reversible.

Have I said how happy I am to have my Sister closer???
We had a fun start of the week-end going to a
Milton Freewater Chinese American Restaurant with them.
Almond Fried Chicken, BBQ Pork and Fortune cookie Memories!

The number of Tula Pink Blocks left to make is dwindling.
Blocks 63-69

Design Wall Monday - October 17, 2016

On my Design Wall are my most recent Blocks for the Tula Pink City Sampler.

Moving on to making the next 10.
It's nice to get back to Rectangles and squares.
HST's weren't as easy as you think with directional fabrics.

Friday I caught an early Bus with 54 of my Quilt Guild Friends and went to Spokane.
The Washington State Quilters show was SEW FUN!
I took some handwork to play with once the sun came out.
Baby Blocks with the kit I got from Franny and Jane at Quilt Market.

Meeting up with a Few WASIQ friends made it even better.
First ones I saw were Julie H & Mel D on the left
It was the first time to meet Bert K on my Right.
Julie and Mel stayed the weekend at a local hotel for a mini retreat!

After we met up for Lunch - more WASIQ ladies.

You know what happens when Quilters get together???
They influence the buying of Patterns, LOL
Mel, Julie and I bought the same pattern to make for Christmas this year.
I borrowed this picture from Mel.  lol
My Goodies from the show.
I'll share some of the Quilts seen in my Wednesday Post.
Come on back to see.
Here's what the Driveway looks like.

So glad they smoothed out where the neighbors cat tried to leave her mark.
DH says I can't put a Quilt Block in it. Bummer!
