Quiltathon - Day 3

I don't usually Blog on Saturday, but I have to share my progress on the Quiltville Mystery.
Today I am doing the trimming that I should have already done,
I blame it on my stupid sickness and being lazy.
I know that making sure the units are squared correctly will make the quilt better.
I'm using my Favorite Deb Tucker Trimmer, of course!

Many Comments and Likes on Facebook determined that the GREEN wasn't going to work with the Light Blue that I've run out of.
DH is in Tri-Cities getting me another Yard. Yea for a good helper!
Then I can make more of these Clue 7 units.
It was suggested to change out the Light Bue,
I have the Turquoise Blue and could have re-made the units- then I would be closer to finished today.

I'm stubborn and like the lighter effect.
Here's the Corner laid out last night

First Friday of 2017- Quiltathon

I see that Judy L is having a Quiltathon HERE

I wanted to LINK-up yesterday but time got away from me.
I am still trying to get back to 'real life'!
I cut out more parts for my En Provence and for my New Grand-daughter's quilt.
I am loving cutting into my PINK Stash for her.
No sneak peeks of the finished flimsy.
This TV tray set-up is helping me keep moving on this Mystery.
Standing up to cut seems to tire me out more than sitting.

Here is my 1st Block laid out.

I found a darker Green in Tri-cities this week.
I'm not sure about the baby blue?
Might have to re-do those hourglass units with a Darker Blue.
I read on FB that the whole En Provence Quilt has 2,864 pieces.
I'm not sure how big mine will be yet.
What do you think?

I have printed out the 1st Block in Pat Sloan's New Block of the Month
"A Children's Library"
I still haven't selected the fabrics I will use,
I will choose some fabrics & sew it this weekend - link up is HERE.
The forecast is for MORE of the "S" word.
The weatherman is NOT my friend.
Going out in the Sub Zero temps makes my lungs burn.

I also am working on a Knitting project for my newest Grand-daughter.
Knitting isn't something I've done a lot for my Grnadchildren.
They requested a "Warm" dress.
I am so thankful for help from my Lacey Lacer Knitting Teacher this week.
I was stuck on how to embellish the hem of the skirt.
I wanted something small and I think I like this.

Here is a sneak peek for B & T
I am hoping she doesn't grow out of it before the BIG day.
 I'm almost done with it.
It needs to be blocked and the sleeves sewn together, buttons added to the back.
How do you like it, now, Tina???

2017 Design Wall Monday - Happy New Year Reveal - January 2, 2017

The En Provence Mystery Reveal came on New Year's Day!
BIG SURPRISE!!!
Many, Many Thanks to BONNIE!
I have to decide on the squares that Bonnie had as her Yellow.
Around the Center Star where it has no fabrics. To me Yellow screams way too much.
Click HERE to get the Final version view in Bonnie's Colors.
I see a bit of Celtic Solstice in these blocks.

There is still a bunch of Clue 6 & 7 Hourglass units to make to be ready to assemble my quilt.

Clue 6 came out Friday,
The Blue is my Green, Green may be my Yellow?
Using the Essential Tool makes it sew easy to sew there hourglass units.
The extra HST's will be 1 1/2" finished. Not much fabric is wasted from each strip.

It's a Snow Day again and my bed still calls me.
Just sitting up to post this Blog tires me out.

No Link-up with Quiltville today.
It's the 1st Link -up with Judy L HERE for the year.

I'm still making my UFO and TBQ lists to make my 2017 Goals.
Judy L is doing the UFO Challenge and #3 is the one to work on for January.

I'll have to try for Wednesday for that POST.

Quiltville Mystery Link-up and Design Wall Monday - December 12, 2016

It's a SNOW DAY/SEW DAY/Grandma Day
No School and I'm not venturing out on slick roads!
I'm combining my Design Wall Monday with the Quiltville Link-UP
I didn't get much stitching done over the weekend so I was up early to sew.
Then I got the call that I was needed-
Here are my purples I chose.  Some are being changed out.

I got just a few strips sewn before the snowbunnies came for the day.

 Clue 1 -3
The Lavendar and my Constant are looking pretty close.
I might have to re-think the constant.

I have a LOT of cutting, sewing and trimming to do while I'm snowbound.

                                                    Monday measuring of the SNOW
Almost up to the 7" line.

Grandma's car is snowed in.
Daughters of Utah Pioneers Luncheon will be missed today also.
No need to go anywhere as long as we have the WHITE stuff falling.

Design Wall Monday & 2016 Mystery Link-up

Not much to show on the Design Wall today.
Too many events that took me away from my Quilting Zone.
It's the 2nd Link- up Day for the 2016 En Provence Mystery over at Quiltville.
Click HERE for all the Clues
I got up early to get a few made.
My constant is a lighter Pink than the Magenta in the paint chip.

Had to check for how many I could make with each strip.
These will all be the same.
I'm using my STASH of Michael Miller Fairy Frosts.
This Mystery will "Sparkle"
I needed to find more of my 2nd Neutral.
I found Fat Quarters but no more Yardage at my LQS.
Hopefully I have enough to finish the 1st clue.

I have other Secret Stitching going on when I have a chance.
Only 20 days left to get it all DONE!
Snow in the forecast, so I might get grounded, then I can SEW without guilt.
How is your Christmas Stitching going?

Last week the Post for the Quiltville Link-up got the most views and comments.
Thanks!
