Palmateer Point QAL - Link - up

Some days you just have to CUT FABRICS!

It was a Stay Home day.

Those have been rare around here lately.

I had places I could have gone, of course, Shop Hop is still happening.

I chose to get my Palamteer Point started...

There are no progress pictures.

I missed out on playing with all of you making parts each week.

It took almost - all day, and I LOVE it!

 The Picture I posted to Instagram and Facebook was kinda FUZZY and Lighter.

Glad I got up and took a few more pictures of it.

The flowers outside called to have it posing with them...

 On-Point by Petunias and Fall-Colored Hydrangea

I love the changing colors of my Hydrangea. 

The bright Green leaves still greet my eye.

I may need to add some green to it.

There were many pretty ones shared over on Facebook.

Nothing like the Last Minute to get me stitching...

I shared it with Bonnie H for QuiltCam and she emailed back this morning with  "Super Cute"

I'm amazed at how Lori is inspired by the Antique Quilts for her Quilt-A-Longs.

Next week I'll share some of the Antique Quilts I saw in Utah with Sandra Starley.

I took so many pictures, I have to get them all sorted out to post.

They were truly inspring.

OMG for April /Design Wall Monday - April 3, 2017

Well, my Design Wall id kinda BUSY with Challenges and a SWAP.

The UFO for April is #1

My Purple Baskets from a WWVQG Lotto win in 2006.

That was Pre- Blog, Pre- Facebook and Instagram time.

If I can't locate a Picture, chances are I won't be able to find the project...

I did find the last picture I took when I made my 2013 UFO post for Judy L.

I see it there on the right side of the 4th stair down.

It's nice to see that a few of these UFO's are completed from 4 years ago.

I made a few more Churn Dash Blocks in Preparation for the "Grandma Camp" this week.

The Kid's Class didn't have any other sign-ups.

Wednesday's Post should have some progress on the Girl's Quilts.

Before they come I have an idea for my DOLL SWAP with Humble Quilts.

Here are my Fabrics. 

There has been some Cutting going on, but nothing to put up on the Design Wall just yet.

It's Spring Break and my Week just got a little busier,

Wish me luck in finding the UFO #1.

It should be an easier one to get to Flimsy.

I think there are only 7 blocks, so it will be a small project.

I'm using it for my OMG this month, I have a real Deadline to finish that way.

I said I would have to find a special place for it.  

One of our friends called and asked if I wanted a Sewing Machine table that they got at a Yard sale.

He said I had liked it when I saw it back then, so they offered it to me.

It's from a Kenmore, but it looks really nice in my hallway with this doll quilt on top.

Civil War Scraps are calling me

Can't resist any longer- 

When I saw the OMBRE Fabrics on Lori's Blog HERE last week. 

I thought....I have some of that kind of CW Fabric in my Civil War Stash.

Gotta use up some scraps, my table and totes are over-flowing.
I should be able to find some Turkey Reds, Prussian Blues, Shirtings, Chrome Orange/Cheddar, Over-dyed Greens, Double PInks, Madder Style Prints, Indigo Blue, Chrome Yellow, Green Calicos, Purple, Foulards, & Printed Plaids in them.

Maybe some of these FQ's will work.

 I had to see the Selvages.  These are Re-Pros from In the Beginning.

They are making 6" stars, I like 8" stars better so I'll use the Pattern I used for this STAR.

I thought it might be in my copy of the Civil War Sampler.

Playing Catch-up...

I Still have some pictures that I took at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. 

I will save those to Blog for Tomorrow.

Today I had to play Catch-up and start this Quilt-Along with Lori over at Humble Quilts. It started when I was busy trying to get ready to go to see Jennifer Chiaverini.  I should be finishing the Aloha Quilt, I know. 

OR one of the many other ones on my list of October Goals.

Here is the first part Done---

I can add the next part when I get enough HST's in the 1.75" size.

This is a Block leftover from my first Sylvia's Bridal Sampler, and since

I had leftover parts that were the right measurement for the 1.5" HST's to go with my other Leftovers.

I like it and the name is perfect! It's called "Faithful"!  I am a very Faithful Fan of Jennifer Chiaverini.

I just couldn't resist.  Lori said to "use fabrics that make you happy", and these definitely fit the bill. 

I have those leftover HST's that didn't all get used for the SAL with Pam Buda  HERE.

She has revealed the finished layout and many of  my Bloggy friends have finished theirs too.

It's Friday and I had to play Catch-up and get my Block of the Week made for my Blue and White Loyal Union Sampler,too.  The next one is assigned tomorrow. I had made this block already for the Aloha Quilt.

Civil War Blocks and some Namedropping...

 I went to Lynn's on Monday cut out these Blocks. I knew my sewing time would be limited with the plans for the week.  Looking at them on the computer, I see an OPPS on the top right block.  Time to un-sew and fix that before I add them to the Flicker site.

I'll have to show the setting I want to use for these CW blocks before the end of July.  I have 22 of the 56 made now. Maybe on Design Wall Monday???

Our Daughter #2 came to say good bye on Thursday Night.  Her oldest was too tired to sit up for a picture. It was good to have her home for almost a week.

                  

 Here is my block for Lori of HUMBLE QUILTS Jubilee/Birthday Quilt.  It was due in April but I finally got it mailed out this week.  I sent here a Bow Tie Block also. Even if my block has to go on the back, I wanted to send her one.

And for the Name-Dropping time--  STASH, a LQS (Local Quilt Store), invited a 'famous' Fabric and Quilt Designer to come to Walla Walla. Last night was a meet and greet/ book signing and tonight is a Lecture. I had one of the Stash Ladies take my picture with Tula Pink.  She's very friendly and Tall. I was happy to add another Autographed book to my Quilter's Library. Lynn calls me a "Name Dropper".  I need to take a Siggy Square for her to sign tonight, I forgot it yesterday. Her book has 20 projects in it and I think I will have to try a few of them... She is doing a workshop all day at the Marcus Whitman, but I didn't get signed up for it.  I dared not start another quilt!  

 I did buy a Fat Quarter of her "Parisville" fabric.  I was going to use it in my Cats and Mice Block for my FW and SBS. See the tiny lavendar mice??  I left it home when I cut those blocks out.  I think I could make a 2nd Cats and Mice Block for the SBS, HUH?  I'm not usually a fan of the "modern" prints- this one had some of my colors in it so it had to come home with me.

Humble Quilt's 'Pink Lemonade' linkup

By popular demand my "Pink Lemonade" is now BLUE.

Thanks for all the comments and input.  I was leaning towards the blue all along, even though the blues didn't exactly match. My Daughter knows me well, the orange wasn't my favorite. This Blue Star fabric will also be the backing. The selvage says 1861 "Gloria" by Bonnie Sullivan.

Today is the day to Link up to Humble Quilts and I wanted to at least get it to the 'Flimsy' stage before now. I think the Blue matches the way January went in my sewing/quilting room.  I'm glad January is over and I have a new Month to play and make progress. I really didn't mind the Celebrating all month...just the lack of real progress on my UFO's. So I guess my Mini quilt needs a new name.

I think I'll call it "Blue Raspberry Punch".

I'll have to put this away now to wait for the Quilting. Maybe I'l try some 'Big Stitch' Quilting on it, just for fun.  My Ufo's are calling.  Judy L has chosen the UFO for February and it's already on the Design Wall.  UFO #1 is the Crayon Block I won at the Guild Lotto a few years ago.  I hope this is the month for it to be finished. 

Pink Lemonade-part 1, BOM, and mail

 Lori over at Humble Quilts put up Part 2 of the Quilt a-long for "Pink Lemonade" yesterday.  I'm already using my Civil War fabrics catching up on last year's Civil War (Block of the week)BOW and took the chance to get Part 1 done.

 I also cut out part 2, it is ready to assemble.  One block at a time these worked up fairly quick.  They are 5" finished blocks. I used my Bow ties as true Leader/Enders. I have 33 total Bow ties made now.

As I made my Block Lotto BOM for Guild tonight I thought I'd use the Easy Angle that Bonnie Hunter highly recommends.  The link is to one of her patterns ( Nine Patch Split) that shows how she uses the Easy Angle.

It sure makes it easy to make those HST's for the Kings Crown there are only 8 of them. Squaring up not needed. Today is the 90th anniversary of my Mother's Birth. Do I feel Lucky tonight?  We shall see...

This is the prize that came in my Mail on Saturday. I won it on Pat Sloan's Blog on New Years.  It is a panel of Labels to put on my finished quilts. And cool ear buds to listen to her radio shows on Monday's at All People Quilt.
I have the Block of the Month from Morning Glory Designs and the Just takes 2 over at Sentimental Stitches to play with the rest of the month. The Farmer's Wife workshop starts next week at Thread and Bolts and my UFO for January to finish.
