Fabric Shops and Family Fun

We made a quick trip last week-end to visit our Son and his family in Wyoming.

He has been called into the Bishopric as 2nd Counselor.

That meant his Father needed to ordain him a High Priest, 

so he could be set apart in his new calling.

I should have taken a family Picture- 

Brant Conducted Sacrament so he was a little busy. 

Tina and I both bought new Dresses for Sunday.

I hemmed hers for her and Brant's new White Temple Pants.

I used my Mother's Day Kohl's card from J & K family - THANKS!!!

These Cute kids came to wake me from my Sunday Nap.

Paul drove all the way - Over 1600 miles!

Many Miles over the Mountains and down in Valleys of Oregon, Idaho and Wyoming.

He even went above and beyond, out of the way and stopped for more Row by Row & license plates

I took picture of the Winning Quilts hanging in the shops.

At the Ontario shop I as given a little booklet that had directions and numbers for the Oregon and Idaho shops on our way.

At Nancy's Quilt in Nampa - I saw that the store owner was a "Call".
 I asked if they were related to Anson Call.
YEP, I found another 'cousin'

He had some good stories to share in the time we visited.

His Line comes through the 1st Wife "Mary Call".

I had to get a current Picture of The Star Valley Temple!

The Angel Moroni was recently placed.

My Wyoming family was there.

The Temple is across the street from a Bowling Alley. The kids Bowled for Free.

 Grandpa, B & T bowled 2 games.

I threw my back out last time I  tried to Bowl, so I  just cheered them on.

We decided to take a different route home and found this Temple under Construction.

Now we know where it is!
 We followed the Payette river around winding roads. there were rafters and Kayaks spotted.
Driving 70-80 MPH, it's hard to get a picture.

Row by Row Quilt - Ta DA!

I waited all day for the Owner of Highland Quilts to get to the Shop 

so I could go and turn in my Quilt.

Just look at that stack of Fat Quarters. 

 I'll go back and spend the Gift Certificate later.

The owner let me bring it home so I can show it on Monday to the ladies at Tri-Cities Quilt Guild.

She wants to put it in her Window for the rest of the Row by Row time.

My rows are From:

Keepsake Quilting- Bothell, Wa, Quiltmania-Richland,Wa, Kissed Quilts-Grand Coulee,Wa, Thread and Bolts-Walla Walla, Wa, Stylish Fabrics & Quilts-Logan, Ut, Highland Quilts-Athena,Or, Yesteryear Quilting-Waterville,Wa, Janean's Bernina-Pasco, & The 9th Row from Thread and Bolts. 

I decided to just get it done with the 9 rows I had.

I liked using the Licence Plate fabric and the "roads" sashing to divide the rows.

There is room to add two more rows on the sides if I had taken the time to do that.

I traveled a LOT of Roads to get my many Rows.

If/ When I make a 2nd quilt I will add the extra rows.

 Here is how it looked before I changed it to the final layout.

She noticed I forgot to add the Green on the bottom of her Row, OPPS!

"Home Tweet Home" Panto

This panto was meant for the Row by Row quilt this year.

I found it on my memory stick and added it to "Betsy's"  files.

Only 5 hours of steady quilting  & an evening of stitching the Binding and Hanging Sleeve down.

Done in 3 weeks  & a Day from when the Row by Row Started.

I noticed that the past 2 years I turned in my Quilts on July 31st.

I'm early this year.

Hurrah!

Now it's back to my regular UFO's and BOM's and BOW's.

Oh and that Beach Quilt.

Design Wall Monday - July 11, 2016

My Row by Row is on the Design Wall/Floor this week.

I have 9 rows, lots of Finishing ideas in my head.

Here are the 9 Rows in no particular order.

 That elusive 9TH Row - Found at Thread and Bolts Walla Walla Wa  YEA! 

 The pattern calls for two appliqued Flowers on the ends.

Those might not happen.

It was fun to dig in my 3 1/2" squares tote for the outside border.

I have 3 Vertical Rows so far, I think I need one more.

  

Kissed Quilts - Grand Coulee Wa, Stylish Fabrics & Quilts - Logan UT,  Thread and Bolts -WW Wa

The Quilt over the chair in the Kissed Quilts row will come off, then stitched in place after quilting.

The row in the Center is My FAVORITE of all I have made.

The writing above the Bird says, "Home is Where You CACHE Your Stash.

I saw this plate on her Blog, she's sew nice she sent me one.

I had fun in my STASH finding the "bolts" for the lady to carry.

Of course she is wearing PURPLE in my Row.

My #2 Daughter by Love likes the Camper Row.

A Special Request for their new Camper/RV

My little helper will be needing to watch some Paw Patrol while I sew this week, LOL

I have a self-induced Deadline on this quilt.

No winners YET in Walla Walla or Athena Shops.

Gotta get my Quilt in the running for the Prizes!

Quilt Guild is Tuesday, my Lotto Block is made and Copies of the pattern are ready to share.

July Goals - OMG

My Row by Row is my OMG for July!!!

Because this quilt has a Deadline it has to be my Focus for July!

I spent a lot of time collecting rows and just haven't gotten it worked on as bad as I wanted to.

Every day I see more and more Winning Quilts on Facebook HERE

I have 26 rows so far and a couple more I want.

The local Shops haven't had winners yet and that is good.

I want to put their rows in my Row by Row Quilt.

As of Monday I had done this much.  

Now I have made a couple more rows and need to choose which ones to use to finish.

Then I can get it quilted. 

I have a great idea for my quilt and hope it comes out as I see it in my head.

Thankfully the 9th Row is now at a Local Shop Thread and Bolts.

I'll be picking it up tomorrow.

This is a late night post because I saw the last day to Link-up for OMG is tonight.

That should do it for July - I've already missed a week of working on my Goals.

Wednesday - WOW - more R x R

I should be all done with my Row by Row, but I've been having too much family fun.

The Sweets were playing to town and I HAD to go watch me some Baseball.

Friday night's game had 2 HOME RUNS, the 2nd one was the game winning walk off hit!

I got the 2nd Grand-daughter quilt finished.

I made the 1st pass and looked up to find very little thread on the spool.

Thanks to the LQS for having the exact color I needed to finish.

I discovered that "Betsy" like me doesn't stitch on our Sabbath.

At the stroke of midnight it started skipping stitches.

DH helped hang them up for a Picture.

Monday was more Family time.  

Our 2 daughters and their families came for a BBQ.

I let the youngest of the kids take pictures with my camera.

I didn't show the newest of the rows I've collected. 

I got this one on the way home from the Beach at Bj's in Cloverdale

DH stopped in Hood River, McMinnville, Tillamook and Cloverdale.

The boy who grew up thinking the fireworks were all for him.

End of June- Rowing to Retreat

My last couple weeks of JUNE were a bit over scheduled.

I went to Leavenworth on a Quilt Retreat with my WASIQ Friends.

I didn't just drive directly...I took the scenic route.

The Lind shop is not too far from Connell, one of our old Stomping grounds.

I've heard lots of good things about "The Crazy Quilter"

They were all TRUE.

A Quilt Shop/Retreat center in the beautiful wheat lands of Washington.

Affordable with many nice amenities ie: indoor Hot tub, Sauna, massage table.

I forgot to take a Picture at Odessa's "Experience Quilts"

I inquired how far to the next shop on the way to Grand Coulee and Leavenworth.

In Almira was a sweet shop called Nana's.

Next to Nan's row is Kissed Quilts Row from Grand Coulee

These out of the way shops are sure to be a blessing for those who live out in the 

Dry Farm wheat lands. I was wishing they were a lot closer to me.

Waterville was also on the way to Retreat

Next up was the Craft Warehouse in Wenatchee

 I sewed through Lunch and got 3 rows started at Leavenworth.

I collected Kits more this year.  They include many little buttons and cute stuff.

I thought it would be easier to make them without having to take more of my STASH along.

 These, I thought, would be 'easy' rows.  NOT!!!

Ran out of one fabric, had to re-cut the FG for the houses and itty tiny letters to cut out.

When in Leavenworth, the Row from there was a must.

They are making a series of their rows, I missed last years.

I went with a few friends.

Mel brought me these 3 from around her area.

Bothell,Woodburn and Monroe

On the way HOME I picked up rows from Ephrata at "The Fabric Patch"

They are doing a row for 4 months to make this cute quilt.. I got the top row.

Then it was on to my HOMETOWN again, Moses Lake - "Country Fabrics"

Their resident Parrot is featured. And all my collected Rows & kits from 1st week.

I had a fun time at Retreat

It was cut short because my kids came to spend the week-end before our Family Reunion.

Grandkid snuggles sometimes come before Quilt Retreat time.

Paul was very kind to stop en route to our Family Beach Vacation.

He even stopped at a couple places on the way home.

I was asleep and missed stopping for the 2 Beaverton rows.

I'll share them next time.
