Design Wall Monday - Stay Home days

It's not a good day to go to Tri-Cities.
I will miss seeing my Quilt Guild ladies.
Black Ice on the Bridges warning
until noon. Wrecks reported.
I'm a chicken, so I'm not going out.

I have some straight strip stitching to do.
Working on a Challenge from Tara at Walla Walla Sew Vac and Spas.
I did the cutting at the Sew-in  last Friday.
Watch and see what these strips become.
I have a new David Archuleta CD that I WON from Fountain Books!
Na Dell saved me a copy of  Richard Paul Evans newest book in the Noel series.
Cleaning to get ready for
Thanksgiving !
The Alphabitties help keep the
strip sets in order.
8 of the 9 Strips sets are sewn.
Time to Press!
The Alphabitties will keep them safe while I am busy with family.

Design Wall Monday - Mariner's Compass Sunflower -testing Tula Fabrics

I played a little with Tula Pink fabrics
 from my Stash.
I think they're fun to use.
This is the Revised book for the
Skinny Mariner's Compass.
I tested one or two but the strips for the bigger Point isn't long enough for all the
pie shapes, bummer.
I  only finished One
Sunflower Compass block.
Can you see the point that is from a different Strip?
I'm thinking of a different strip to use there.
Decisions,  decisions!

Back to the Splendid Sampler 2 Blocks
One more of the four Blocks finished.
Estelle had teeny, tiny pieces!
I had to use some Purple!!
I liked the video the designer shared to
Trim the small pieces to the right size.
I have emailed this block to her for a chance to win her prize.

Design Wall Monday - Quiltville Mystery coming

Halloween means the
Quiltville Mystery COLORS come out.
I had fun running from one Lowe's to the next to get my Paint chips.
I took a set to the LQS.
Walla Walla Sew Vac and Spas.
Had to find some bolts that match
The Block tool will help with keeping the right tone of each color as I find more fabrics in my Stash.
I'm not sure I will stick to the colors.
Gotta add some Purple, lol!

I was Busy on the Weekend.
Not much Stitching.
A nice Relief Society Brunch where we collected over 100 Dresses.

 I watched Instagram Lives
My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe did from Houston Quilt Market .

Design Wall Monday -It's Fall Ya'll

I made this little quilt for Fall
I used the fall- colored strips from the
Jelly-Roll I chose for the Challenge.
My Jelly Roll Quilt is due by Wednesday.
Gotta get it quilted.

I got distracted, lol
After trying rulers on the Longarm.
I asked DH if he could make a
Ruler base for Betsy.
I couldn't find one made for it.
It's kinda rough, but I put some contact paper on it.
I think it just might work.

Linking up HERE.

We had too much fun Saturday.
I even got to go on a ride...
It's been a long while since I went on a Carnival Ride with my Grandsons in
Colorado at the Zoo.
The last carnival ride the DH took me on was the Ferris Wheel 42 years ago.
DH doesn't do the rides or the Vendors.
I don't do the cattle and pig barns...lol

He got his 'dippy dog' and I shared my 'funnel cake with my DD #1.
Yes, with Strawberries & Whipped Cream!
More forks please.
I already had my fill of Dippy Dogs.
2 grandchildren tried them.
I forgot to get my oldest sons family in the photo booth.
Thanks for coming to Grandma's
2018 Fair!

Design Wall Monday - Getting it Done

It has been a Great month so far!
'Betsy' and I have quilted a few projects.
Since it is so smokey outside and
DH (dear hubby) needed the car...
I finally got Elizabeth's Quilt Camp 2018  project off, the binding is sewn on.
I was on a Roll,  the Red Snappers made re- loading and Quilting the side borders, fast.
There was a bit of reverse stitching
 on the Corners.
(Note to self, take a picture of the quilting)
Next up was this Disappearing Pinwheel Baskets project I started back HERE.
I got these neat clamps from Grace Company. I had to try them out, lol.
Then I  thought that was a fun pattern.
I decided it was good for Lydia's Quilt.
The pattern is 'Alfresco'
Just one more Quilt to get finished for Fair.
Olivia's was loaded on Betsy late Saturday.
I'm not liking the quilting pattern much, so... I'm reverse  stitching again.
I need to find a better design, with not so much back-tracking.

Design Wall Monday -UFO

It's been a good weekend.
Last week was so Hot!
I'm still praying for the Firefighters working on containing the fires nearby.
My DSIL is one of them.

As for the Design Wall... well.
It is kinda blocked in so the floor has my
SPLENDID SAMPLER 2 blocks
(- the missing first 2)
I just use whatever fabric is close to my Cutting table to make these.

Judy L chose the August UFO.
It's not been out of the tote in a year.
Shirtings, some from Janet O -
plus a few from the laundry room.
I am not even halfway to the 64 listed in the Addicted to Scraps
 book by Quiltville Bonnie!

Week 44 has brought the
SPELLING BEE SATURDAY SAL to an end.
The question Mark and Semi-colon in scrappy Teals.
This project has to wait for my next
Retreat or Sew-in Day.

The Walla Walla Fair is coming up too fast!
I have Quiltin' to get done.
Linking up HERE for a Monday.

Design Wall Monday - end of July

The end of July makes me a bit Sad.
August is always busy and then School starts and the holidays aren't far away.

Elizabeth's Creation is on the Quilt Table.

I couldn't decide how to quilt those fun borders she designed.
They deserve more than a E2E Panto.
A phone call to consult was needed.
Thanks for her patience.
I really want her quilt to be a
'WOW, that's Amazing,
I can't believe she did it.'

I also did some re-arranging, the Quilt Zone
really needed it!
The neighbors are re-doing their old house and pulled out all the old cupboards.

I saw this one standing on end and thought...
That would work in the basement to help keep my fabric bolts stored better.
DH (dear hubby) switched the hinges and waited for me to make room to fit it in.
A 120" tape measure helped me to double check, the height.
Just barely missed needed to cut some off.
And it didn't cover the Outlet or vent to the H2O shut off.
Good news!
I'm slowly getting my day started.

There are Monday Blogs to surf HERE.

Design Wall Monday -A Finish

Betsy was pretty good this week.
Only a bit of a hiccup when I tried to leave the Quilt Machine on overnight.
I got a fun new pattern to quilt on this
D9P VARIATION.
Hurray!!
1 more quilt on the Finish pile.
I had hoped to get the 3 Quilts
made at Grandma Quilt Camp  done, too.
There's always this week, right?
Less meetings = more quilt time.
Linking up to Small Quilts and Doll Quilts HERE.

Tomorrow is Pioneer Day!!
I wore my Pioneer dress with a new to me Tatted collar I found at Love of Junk.

I wish I could have gone to Utah to Celebrate!
This is my Tribute to the Faithful who made the long Trek to The Utah Valley in 1847.

Design Wall Monday - Grandma's Quilt Camp -results

I missed Blogging Friday.
We were pedal to the metal getting 3 quilts tops to the Flimsy stage.
They made it in time for late afternoon photos in Pioneer Park .
The Gazebo is perfect for the Group pic of their creations.

When grandpa came home we took a picture on our porch.
It's my favorite !
Can you see the smiling Grandma?

I love the Creativity of all the Granddaughters!
They started with 4-patches this year.
Mostly designed on my EQ.

First Finish went to Elizabeth.
Her 4-patches were bigger so her main challenge was the designing of the Border.

Her Math and Drafting skills were helpful!!

Next is Olivia's
 Simplified 4-Patch Trip.
Her Sister called it an 'old lady quilt'.

10 yr old Lydia's 1st quilt.
She came with an idea, picture on her Kindle. We added in the 4-patches & flower.
