WOW-WEDNESDAY

Evergreen Part 4 was a Star on top.

 I thought it might be an Angel 

I think any 6" Block would work. I will play 

with the other ones I started. 

I think I could use a Lori Holt Angel on top.

Or do Stars of a different color.

Wait and watch to see the end result.

Next week is the finishing instructions.

There hasn't been much sewing happening lately.

I had to wait until today to try and make the Top row for this SAL. 

I wish the pain in my back would magically 

just dissappear!

My Chiro appointments this week haven't helped much... but after the adjustment I am not 

weak on the left side.

Gotta use the Tens unit and alternate 

with the ice pack.

I have places to go and things to see this week.

Christmas Eve in July - fun

We had fun Celebrating Christmas Eve in July.

Pamela brought a few giveaway goodies. 

Eddie offered this cool tree made with 

So kind of Wonderful rulers.

My name was drawn first, so I got it!

It needs the Quilting. 

I will use it on a door and maybe add some ornaments to it.

I stitched 2 more of the part 1 of the Evergreen Mystery SAL  from Fat Quarter Shop. 

I didn't take my extra fabrics so part 2 is 

only part way done.

These two sections reminded me again why I dislike directional fabrics???

I suggested we get together for Christmas stitching on the 25th of each month to Eddie.

Pamela took it on.

No waiting for December last minute gifts this year.

We got the Walla Walla Valley Raffle Quilt designed on Saturday morning.

Using the Lori Holt Blocks made by Guild Members.

The Cow Block goes in the black space.

it needed a background-ectomy.

The background was provided for us to give the quilt unity.

A couple of blocks did not conform.

My Flower Block is in the center column, so I get to put that column together. 

Rainy Day Monday

 It was a rainy Day Monday here in the PNW.

So glad I had a cute Umbrella while waiting for my Son-by-love

and Daughter to come to my rescue.

Nothing a Jump start from Jes' Truck and a New Battery at Napa couldn't fix. 

Oh my, the ID-10-T lights on the dash didn't help my heart rate.

I needed a bunch of these Cookies!

Made for YSA on Sunday.

That's what I do with Chocolate Kisses left on my Porch.

I bought this for the back of one of my UFO's.

I forgot which one...

At the Spokane Quilt show, they sold 2019 T-Shirts for $5

One of the Vendors wore this panel as an Apron.

Not sure what I'll do with it.

 Probably put some sewing blocks around for borders.

It can marinate in the stash for a while

I got the NEW Lori Holt Book

Eddie says we will do a SAL in January at Powered By Quilting.

I got the Fat Quarter Bundle of Plaids to use with my Stash.

Quilty Barn Sew-Along

I have to confess again...

 I wanted to make the Quilty Barns from the Farm Girl Vintage book.

Fat Quarter Shop just happened to announce this Sew-Along.

Only need to make 4 barns for that. 

Two at a time is easy peasy when you cut them out together the night before.

It's a fun Granny Square made from my 2 1/2" scrap tote.

The best part of the night was walking in and seeing a 

Hearts and Flowers Quilt sitting there.

No big hoopla or presentation, even though it should have been given to me back in 2017 

when my 2 brothers passed away. 

I'm grateful to have it now. Wish it had a bit more Purple in it.

It's a stay at home, rainy type of day. Paul is gone to the Temple with Christopher so I have all day!!!

HMMMM, What should I do?

I am late posting today.

I finished my Merry Mini Quilt.

It was a fun finish for Christmas in July,  eh?

There is less than a week before forms for the Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days. 

Maybe I  will enter my Christmas Mini.

Since yesterday was 

"National Cheesecake Day"

Believe it or not, this is my 1st homemade from scratch, baked Cheesecake. 

My house still smells yummy.

Waiting an hour for it to cook was hard.

Design Wall Monday- Merry Mini Quilt

I have been watching my Instagram Feed.

For a few weeks the Blocks for the 

Merry Mini Quilt have been shared. 

It only has 4 blocks! 

I found this Fat Quarter Shop bundle from the 2018 Jolly Box I ordered.

It looked like similar colors at first.

I needed to add a few other solid fabrics. 

Just 1 more to go.

It's still July!

Who could resist making something

Design Wall Monday- August 10, 2015

It was a fun but LONG week without any stitching...
Did you miss me Posting Wednesday and Friday???

I was a little bit busy with these Boys.
& I have been moving and shuffling stuff around in the Quilt Zone!
No pictures- it's a BIGGER Mess than when I started.

I was glad to get up Saturday morning without an alarm and sew what I wanted to sew.

I chose to play with my Farm Girl Friday Blocks.

I was behind from last week.

 I fussy cut the windows for my Old Red Barn with some of the words in the 

Modern Minis fabric I got from the Fat Quarter Shop.

     Out to Pasture                              Patchwork Pumpkin  

I don't have much Orange in my fabric stash, so some of these prints are more golden and I fussy cut an orange flower from a greenish print. 

I am now all caught up and even made my Penny Pig Block.

He needs his curly tail to be embroidered on.

This week the Fat Quarter Shop announced another SAL for the 1930's Farmer's Wife HERE.

It starts September 28th.  

I already have the book,  I bought it in June and Posted it HERE.

Not that I need yet another project to use my 30's collection, but you know how I am...

Design Wall Monday- May 4, 2015

Since it's a "MAY For Me" day today,

I am sad that she is going in order and the Wooly Lamb is the last Block...
I might have to make a few as I go along, huh??
Then I could have a whole "Wooly Lamb" Quilt done by the end.

I made just one 6" 'Apron Strings' Block

I don't need to make another 30's fabrics- Large Quilt with all the blocks.
But I might make some of the blocks in the 12" size, just for variety.

I was gone most of Friday to our Daughters of Utah Pioneers Convention in LaGrande.

Saturday was the Krazy Horse Quilt Show.
I took a bunch of pictures. When I find out who won the Peoples choice I'll post them.
Jes Berry from Walla Walla Won the People's choice.

I don't even try to compete with Original design, Hand applique and Hand quilting.


I entered my Through the Hourglass and Midnight Flight.

They were hung side by side at the show.

This year they had a Scrappy Challenge to use 50 or more fabrics in a quilt.
I didn't get registered in time or make a scrappy quilt in  the size required so it was fun to
just go look and choose a favorite.

This is the !st Place winning quilt.  It's the one I chose.
Hand appliqued and hand quilted by Rene Devin of Wallowa.

These fun Ladies were sharing the Challenge for NEXT YEAR-
"Not your Grandmother's Log Cabin"

I got to watch some Demos and enjoyed Volunteering at the front near the end of the day.

I took a Lunchtime break and went to see the Art Exhibit in Downtown.
Very interesting the things that are considered "Art"

One of the highlights of the day was meeting Robin Ruth and seeing her Mariner's Compass quilts made without Paper-Piecing. I had seen the ruler on Cindy J's Blog HERE.
 I was looking forward to meeting her.
 She grew up in Ritzville and brought her Mom along with her to help bind her quilts to get ready for Quilt Market in Minnesota latter this Spring.
Her mom kindly took my picture with Robin.

I came home and took a NAP then had to get some stitching in before the clock struck Midnight.
I made the "Puppy Love" Block shown at the bottom of the picture.
In memory of the Puppy named 'Curly', from my childhood.

I used my "Alphabitties" A-W to make it.  Lots of cutting of the parts .
The little ABC's and Numbers are a big help!

Had to Count my Blocks made in past the Month after reading Desert Sky Quilting HERE.
So just for her- I made 74 blocks last month.
1 Loyal Union Sampler Block
22 Downton Abbey Mystery Blocks
31 Strippy Stars Blocks
8 CW  Dresden Fans
11 Idaho Square Dance Blocks
1 Vacation time Block

I have a question...
Do you count the blocks made for a BORDER or just ones intended for a Quilt center??
If so, I can count the border blocks I made for the Symposium.

Happy Birthday to ME!

The day started out great with lots of Facebook wishes and phone calls.

DD#2 made this collage and posted it on FB.

The best part of having our DD #2 home in Walla Walla is we got to go to Lunch

at our favorite place, the Cookie Tree and then to Frosted for a Yummy Cupcake too.

She keeps checking her phone to see if my present has arrived yet. 

I wonder what it could be??

I think it took the slow boat from California.

The Fat Quarter Shop started their "Snapshots" QAL today and guess what block was first???

Today was the perfect day to make myself a "Purple Cake" Block!

I think it is meant to be,  Just look at the other blocks on this QAL.

On the rest of the days agenda is Dinner out with DH and a Grandson's Pinewood Derby.

While it isn't on the top of my list, I'll enjoy watching the Race and get some more Grandchild hugs!

I share the day with a Neice and a few ladies at Church.

We swapped cards and Chocolate on Sunday.
