Finally Fri-Yay!

NaDell and Andy have been waiting for this Quilt.
It was such fun to Surprise her at the Airport tonight.
She's been in Salt Lake City all week.
I had to wait until she got home.
We were on our way home when her flight was landing so I texted her.
Meet you at the Airport, lol!!
It's not every day I can surprise her.

I took her picture so she took ours...

It took over a year to get it Finished.
The most time consuming was getting the titles
Machine Embroidered on the books.
They gave me lots of good Book titles to choose.
I had to ask for a few more as the Quilt grew bigger.
I started it the 21 of June, 2022 HERE
The Red Rose is from Jackie Robinson's Roses Stash.
Now, I need to make one for myself! hahaha!

Monday- end of July report

This is my Scrappy Project that is slowly
getting worked on.
A picnic quilt Jenny shared a few weeks ago.

I got a box of batting for August Quilting.

I got 2 Chuck the Ducks and a Free pattern
in each one.

This was me on Kimberbell Day.

I had the day to myself.
I was hurting a lot so I just watched until
It was time to make the Cardinal.
I waited all day for it.
It needs a bit more trimming
I didn't change thread for the black eye.

I got the borders on the Bookcase Quilt

And I stitched a title on in a place that
needed a book title.

In between I made Frog’s Eye salad and Snickerdoodles for Sunday.

I got up early and went back to the Chiropractor.
The pain level is better, but no stitching.
Goodbye July!

Come back for the blog-o-versary soon.

It's gonna be a Flimsy Fri-Yay

Tis the time to get these two Flimsy centers bordered and ready for the Quilting.

The bookcase Quilt Border auditioning!
"Yep, It looks like a bookcase," DH says!

My Purple Passion
Quiltmaker 40 Year Jubilee Quilt
It needs a bunch of HSTS after I put on a thin border.
My Purple tote is still overflowing!
View from the side

The Yellow Lillies and Purple Petunias make me smile!

And this 10" square layer cake just brought me a Christmas Chuck the Duck!
It's Hydrangeas!  Oh My!!

We took a picture with most of the Moses Lake people who will be leaving our Temple Shift.
We are gonna miss them!!
But we got a new Coordinator and we get to keep our Hermiston ladies.
We'll try again next week to get everyone.

Tomorrow is Kimberbell Day!
A 'REAL' holiday for us!
I hope to spend some time watching and learning how to use Kimberbell stuff better!
There is so many other places to be on Saturday...
Plus a wedding later.

Happy Fri-Yay!
July is almost over.
Watch for the Blog-o-versary Post next week.

Fri-YAY in June!

 It's a Fri-Yay Flimsy Day!

I took my almost a Flimsy to show NaDell at her Work.
She wanted a few pictures.
Then she posted this one of me with the Book Quilt.
My friends and her friends think she's lucky!
Making the Books is really easy. MSQC Tutorial HERE
I spent at least 2 solid days stitching the Book Titles.
Hooping and re-Hooping the rows.
As I said it would have been easier before sewing the rows together.
Looking at the picture I might move a few rows around
and turn a couple more sideways. Hummm...
6 more titles to embroider!
It should be a real flimsy by the end of the day.

It's a busy and Fun weekend!
Full of Baseball and Crafting with some friends.
We were all decked out in our Sweets gear, sitting in our favorite seats at Borleske.
Come watch with us on the 4th of July.
It's a 12:05 day game with Fireworks later.

Happy May Day!!

Happy May Day!
The Tulips at the Temple were so Pretty and almost done blooming.
Diana reminded me to go and see!

She took our picture
Tulips hold the Promises of Spring.
We Celebrated Paul's Parents 70th Anniversary by doing Sealing in the Columbia River Temple.
What a blessing to have have the family together.

Anne came late and brought this quilt
it's is pretty well worn out.
I told her to cut off the most worn parts and rebind it with a new backing.

Diana did a Quick Groupie of us at the Temple

Just missing Mary Withers who stayed to help on a 2nd Sealing Session.
Pete was at Home with Brenda.
Thankful for the Neeley's who joined us.

It's travel week!
The Chiropractor reminded me to sleep with proper alignment.
OK = Neck Pillow, Knee Pillow, Check, Check!

One last Quilt to finish so I can bind it on the way.
The pattern is called "Time Flies"
Same fabrics as the Gingham Quilt I made.

My Charms from My Girlfriends Quilt Shop #Thinittowinit -UFO January-March

I did over 100 # in that time.
Charms only for 50#

The Dogwood and Snowball trees are going to bloom while we're gone.
I had to get a picture today.

My Omaha Choir on the east side in Full Bloom!
Love these "Easter Joy" ones the most.

I only found one Double Tulip in the bunch we planted last year.

I Did a THING!

Because I was home all week and not in California as planned...
My thoughts went to what can I do to make this week count?
There were many other things I could have done.
The beginnings of a Book Quilt from Jenny's Tutorial HERE

She used a Layer cake. I went totally from my scraps and STASH.
I watched it grow all week.

Which way should the books lean??

5 rows, ready to stitch together.
I moved them around a bit.
I loved making the Rose in the vase Block.

Rows all sewn- across.
I figured it would be easier to embroider the tiles of Books on the quilt in rows.
I spent a day stitching on the first row of books into the WEE hours.
I think I need a different stabilizer to avoid puckering.

What do you think?
DD#1 provided the Book Titles from her family.
She told me her NEW bookcases are more Gray than Tan, oops!
Maybe the shelves should be Gray.
I'm leaving the background Tan.
I had a whole bolt of the Tan fabric from Kona Bay.
I sort of looked like wood to me.

We were able to attend the memorial Services for Cary.
Family is Forever and I am so grateful for that.
Happy 1st day of Summer!!

My Grandpa William Brown was born on this day 139 years ago today.
You can go HERE and read more about him.

And a Handsome Prince named William also was born 40 years ago.

Granddaughter#1 is SEW Fun!

We went town to Celebrate this girl!

Grandpa thought we should bring her home.
I wasn't as sure, I have projects to work on.
We went to pick up some things at her house and she brought her Grandma Quilt Camp Project.
I was amazed that all her Blocks were done.
She made her Flying Geese during Grandma Camp.
An Eleanor Burns Layer Cake was her choice of Pre-Cut this year.
It made cutting and choosing easy for the Granddaughters.
The block was found on EQ8, she chose her colors and sewed a couple.
It's a variation of the Capital T.
Lots of White Background.
She named it "Gate of Roses"

By the end of the second day, she had it al together.
She got lots of ooo's and ahs at Quilt Guild!
She chose the Carmen's Roses to be Quilted on it.
My file was corrupted on the Quilt Machine so I'm working on Downloading it again.
Gonna test it on this Table Runner she made with the 3 Extra Blocks.

Hope to get it done in time for the Tri-Cities Quilt Show.
I have a few other Quilts in the Que...

My first Quilt was tested on Betsy while she was here.

After 2+ years, Betsy is uncovered and trying to be useful.
I have got to remember all the quirks, lol
I needed this design tested for a quilt that is due to be gifted this coming week.
These are 4-Patches I had all sewn together. I just had to add the Multi-Print fabric.
It's an old VIP from my stash.
It has the binding sewn on.
I can tack it down while I wait for Paul at his Cataract Surgery on Monday.

I realized I don't really have a Valentine's Quilt.
My Red/Pink Blocks didn't get put together yet.
Maybe later today... we have another road trip.

Remember these?

Jenny did a flash back to the tutorial for the "Antique Lace"
This block is made from those tiny hst's
80 Pieces per block, Whew!

This one will be an Entry for the Black and White Challenge at the Quilt Show in March.

WOW-WEDNESDAY -in no particular order...

My Quilter's ADD is in high gear!
Lots of Projects on my mind &
Design  Floor & Blog.

Yesterday's playtime in the Basement.
The Quilting Design was chosen.
It's almost to the bottom.
Time to turn it, to quilt the side Borders.
I'm using a Verigated Aurifil Thread.

Walla Walla Sew N Vac and Spas had the
Teacher's Meeting.
This quilt is from one of Jenny Doan's
Missouri Star Quilt Company Tutorials.
"Disappearing Pinwheel Baskets"
I  was channeling Eddie Walker, huh?
I was a little short on fabric for the Borders.
Do I un-sew and use another fabric or find an alternative piece??
I didn't see it at the store last night.
This will make a fun
Throw size or Table Topper.
Classes coming soon (September)

I'm really excited about this one.
I saw this at
Spring Quilt Market.
Let's play a game, bring a stack of
2-1/2" squares, Charms, or Jelly Roll strips.
I made mine with Fat Quarters I Won with my Row by Row.
I wanna make one with different colors.
SCRAPPY, Team colors, Holidays,
anything goes.
Watch your Social media and check your email from wwsnvandspas.com
