Happy 4th of July

We went to the Sweets Baseball game last night.

There was Fireworks after the game.

Not Victory Fireworks, sadly they lost.

              We had 14 YSA sitting in front of us.

           It was Not planned.

He thought the Fireworks were for him.

I missed posting Monday and Wednesday. 

Getting ready for the 4th of July Parade. 

I stitched  Pioneer Bonnets for them to wear.

Their Daughters of Utah Pioneers camp marched.

Fri-YAY in June!

 It's a Fri-Yay Flimsy Day!

I took my almost a Flimsy to show NaDell at her Work.

She wanted a few pictures.

Then she posted this one of me with the Book Quilt.

My friends and her friends think she's lucky!

I spent at least 2 solid days stitching the Book Titles.

Hooping and re-Hooping the rows.

As I said it would have been easier before sewing the rows together.

Looking at the picture I might move a few rows around 

and turn a couple more sideways. Hummm...
6 more titles to embroider!

It should be a real flimsy by the end of the day.

It's a busy and Fun weekend!

Full of Baseball and Crafting with some friends.

We were all decked out in our Sweets gear, sitting in our favorite seats at Borleske.

It's a 12:05 day game with Fireworks later.

Monday Distraction- weekend recap

Nothing 'Quilty' this morning.
This  Blog is my Journal...
Friday night we had an Americold dinner
With Paul's co-workers at the fanciest place!
A 7 course meal at the Marcus Whitman.
We didn't take pictures of us, but the food---
My goodness, such an experience.

Tableside chef making Sorbet with liquid Nitrogen was so interesting!
My favorite was the Wagyu Short rib and Cheesecake Dessert.

The stitching I did was for gifting. 

We had a full- schedule, I had to finish gifts.

Newlyweds can always use more towels!
They did something unique for a guest book.
A Polaroid was taken of each guest/Couple.
Then it was taped into the Guest Book
With a message.

Here we are!
After the Reception up Mill Creek,
we went to another
Walla Walla Sweets Baseball game.

A late Saturday night game.
I talked Paul into staying to the end.
We got there in the 3rd inning.
They are in a winning streak!
6-0 with two Series sweeps.

 I also embroidered towels for the
 5 High School Graduates. (No pic)
We missed the HS Graduation,  but attended the Seminary Graduation to deliver them.
There was 90th Birthday celebration on Sunday, too.
No wonder I had to sleep in today.

Wow-Wednesday -May UFO Finish

It's a Wednesday,  a new month, 

& I am tired!

Late posting this morning. 

I have finished my May UFO!

I had fun taking it outside for pictures. 

It was a little, sunny and there was a breeze.

6 years+ in the making.

More pictures on the newly mowed grass.

Just a few days late.

Still need to find my tote of Marti Mitchell's fabrics for the binding.

Last night was Sweets Opening day! 

10th year of Walla Walla Baseball.

We had premium seats behind the backstop.

We had to leave early and 

missed the Fireworks.

Had to get hubby home, he wakes up early.

Next time we'll be back in the bleachers. 

I missed my view from the 'C' Section.

More Baseball in the coming weeks.  

No Jury calls yet!

My calendar is full.

We watched our Goodson grandson pitch in his final Little League game. 

Happy to be there for a few innings.

Finally Friday - Distractions

Who knew how many things would Distract me from my Row by Row.

I had high hopes of finishing in record time this year.

It's Friday, and I haven't finished anymore Rows than what I showed on Monday.

 I did spend a day working on my Embroider machine for one Row.

It will be like my Label with the names of where the Rows in my Quilt came from.

Ephrata's Row Pattern is Perfect for that.

Don't you think???

Thursday a SURPRISE envelope showed up in my Mailbox!

My sweet Wyoming Daughter by Love sent me 2 rows to add to my Quilt.

1 is from Idaho Falls, the other from Star Valley (Thayne)

I did cut out a few strips to make the Pink Flamin-GO!!

 As for Distractions

The Sweets were playing all week in Town.

Here we are ready for the 3rd evening game of the week.

 2 Local young girls sang the National Anthem, glad we were there for that.

It was Throwback Thursday Night.

The Team wore their Brown Uniforms from when Walla Walla "Padres" Team played here.

 And my DH didn't make me leave before the End!

Victory for the Sweets over their Rivals the Yakima Pippins.

By choosing to sit in a different area , we were the Lucky Winners of a Sweet Basil PIZZA.

That was sure un-expected and fun.

Extra leftovers for DH's Lunch.

More things UN-Expected...

We'll be going to SISTER's on Saturday for the Outdoor Quilt Show.

I can collect a few more Rows on the Way, lol

DH really does Spoil me!

Wednesday- May for Me!

Today I get to go and watch back to back Baseball games!

That's a ME activity too.  This Grandma LOVES Baseball

I remember spending our Saturdays at the baseball park in Pasco.

Pretty soon my hometown Baseball team will start playing.

I have already bought my tickets for Opening Day!

Having a "SWEET" time (many Pics)

The Goodson's are in town so we went to the Block Party downtown Monday night to see what was going on.  The boys loved the bounc-y house and the dunk tank.

 Jackson got up really close since he's young.  This was the second guy from the Sweets team to volunteer for the Dunk Tank.  If we had stayed a while longer we would have seen the General Manager get dunked.

Paul and I with Janessa's boys listening to the Live Music at the Block Party.  Sometimes grandpa doesn't wait for me to look a the camera.  And I am usually talking or being distracted anyway with my grandkids.

 After we got home and Grandpa mowed the yard they played with the fat bat and played catch.  It's hard with only one bat and two boys...

Tuesday- JULY 24th

NaDell Drove over from Tri-cities with her 4 children to see her Sister and sons.  No visit is complete without some Pioneer Park time.  

Jacob smiles big on the baby swings.  I can get a good picture as long as MOMMY is nearby. Abigail loves to Swing!  She would have stayed there the whole time if we only had the energy to keep pushing her up high!
  

My two Girls posing for me as they sit in the shade at Pioneer Park.  NaDell had to twirl the tire swing around with Janessa and her Boys on it.  It was fun, Janessa thought, but it sure made her Dizzy! There are even more Pictures of NaDell's kids and Janessa boys on NaDell's Blog HERE.

Vincent and Jackson up on the ROCK!  Grandpa helped them to get up there.  Scaring this Grandma, but I still had to get a Kodak Moment of it.  The grandkids like to go around and see all of the birds in the Aviary.  The Peacocks are a fun stop along the way.  They screamed at the male one to get him to fluff his tail. I don't know who told them that would work?? 

 Back at Grandpa and Grandma's it is time for Blue Jello Jigglers and Grandpa's "homemade" Sprinkler. Four nozzles for the oldest of the 6 here. Jackson and Vincent came close to tell me they were "all soaking wet!!"

Almost Game time --

 Janessa and her boys all decked out in "SWEETS" shirts. 

(I bought the shirt for myself, but it didn't fit me.  Happy Early Birthday for Janessa)

Jacob was afraid of Sweet Lou,but Jackson gave him hugs and poked him in the eye.  Funny to him, not so much for the Sweets Mascot... 

Milton, Christen and their family joined us at the Borleske Stadium for the ALL-STAR Game.  

 Grandma bought some of the BLUE Cotton Candy for the "kids".  I think two bags would have been enough, thinking back.  We were in the "Family Zone".  Sorry to the Guy who sat in front of us...

I brought the 'Bells' I got at an earlier Sweets game to let the kids play with.  A slight distraction and racket for us at the Game.  I told them to ring them when a Bellingham Bells player was up to bat. They even took them down and got them signed by Sweet Lou for me.

 Sweet Lou poses with a few of the little ones.  All Thumbs UP for SWEET LOU! Another lady had them pose for her too. I think her daughter works on the SWEETS crew. The East and West of the WCL played a close game- no score until the 4th inning.  The west WON 3-2.  I think we were rooting for the EAST...

Uncle Milton and Jacob= PRICELESS! 

 The oldest Child and Youngest Grandchild of mine!  Nothing like sharing some Family Time at the Baseball Game and there was FIREWORKS too!!!

The DVR at home was taping the Pioneer Commemoration Concert for me to watch later.  I got the link in an e-mail from DEONN to go and see it on the Computer if you don't have BYU-TV.  Click HERE to listen and watch the Mormon Tabernacle Choir with Special Guest Katherine Jenkins.

Swap Meet and Farmer's Mkt

Friday Night we went to the Turner's for a BBQ before the "Opening Day" of the Walla Walla Sweets Baseball season.  We were sitting close enough for me to get a picture of the mascot "Sweet Lou".

 (not a bad picture with my new phone) We left, because of the Rain, while the Sweets were ahead 4-2, but I heard later there was a Grand slam by the Cowlitz team in the 8th inning to spoil Opening Day- final 4-6.

 The Country Store is a fun place to go and browse-- I went by myself on Friday evening and with Wendy on Saturday mid day.  I saw this doll and thought my sister Roma had one like this. She even still has on her high heels and earrings.

I saw this quilt on Friday night when I didn't have Wendy with me to hold it up. I liked the flowers and the quilting on it.  It was $75 but I didn't buy it.

Bonnie Hunter shows old quilts that she sees when she is thrifting and I had to look around more today and saw these fun quilts.  Wendy helped to hold them up so we could get both sides of the first one, a baby quilt.

 

The apple core was fun too--- see the hand stitching?

Wendy was tired of holding them up all the way so this one is folded in quarters.  Butterflies with some embroidery.

Saturday, this is what DH- Paul did...Our Lawn watering system was getting worn out and corroded so he built us a custom sprinkler to attach to the hose and move around. The neighbor said he should "Patent" it. LOL

 I picked up Green Pepper and Cucumber Plants at the Farmer's Mkt.  Paul planted them by our Onions and two in the front flowerbed where we had squash last year. the pink stuff if fertilizer (Miracle Gro)

We have used up all the soap I got from my Blogging buddy so I selected a new bar from the WW Soap Works to try "Calendula"  I also got a free bar of "Lavendar Twist" to try out.

And this evening while out taking pictures I had to stop and Smell the pretty Roses. It was a very good day.
