it's Fri-Yay - Time to pick a Winner

 Happy National Sewing Month!

Thank you Ronald Reagan, in 1982!

I am a lazy Blogger today.
I put the name in a bowl and will have hubby pick one out.
Going Old School!

Thank for you kind words Bloggy Friends.

And the Winner is.... NANCY!
I'll get her address and send it out.
And for the Kim Diehl Fabric I drew Janet O's name.
The fabric will go in the mail, I have Janet's address already.
As for the Walla Walla Fair Entries
I got a Blue on my Gladiolus

and a Blue on my Quilt
It was a Blue Ribbon day.
Dear Daughter #2 went to see the Beach Boys!

I didn't go too crazy.
The guys and gals in front of us were dancing and being weird,
I didn't want to stand up in front
of the people behind us and be RUDE!
I thought being in the Grandstand would be better than the Chairs in the dirt.
We had a little Fun, Fun Fun!
They had old Videos/pictures from the 1960's when they started the Surfing Craze
Old guys, singing those old songs!

It brought back memories of me watching American Bandstand
and The Ed Sullivan Show.
I was only four when they started, lol.
I really wanted my Sister to go with me.
They were more her era than mine.
She chose not to go and was sick on Wednesday.
She is missing going to the Fair with me.

The Blue Super Moon over the Rodeo Grounds wasn't too Blue.
Still a bit of smoky haze around here from the fires.

Now it's time to get on "Betsy" and quilt my last entry
for the Walla Walla Valley Quilt Festival later this month.
Deadline is midnight tonight!

Have a Happy Labor Day Weekend.

National Quilt Month 2022

Happy 1st day of National Quilt Month!
This is my intro post.
I'm the Crazy Quiltingrandma aka: Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma

I love to Quilt!
I would quilt Everyday if I could.
Quilting is one of my joys in life!
My Family is my biggest Joy!!🙂
I love creating new blocks from my Fabric collection/Stash.
Making quilts for people that I love is the best gift to make.
I don't like to out a price on my work so I don't make custom quilts for people, they couldn't afford me! All the hours and days, months and sometimes years it takes to finish a quilt.
I love my Quilty T-shirts and socks.
Spending time on my quilts fills the days.
I am never bored- I can find something quilty to do.
I also have quilty books I love to read.
This T-shirt says it all...
Quilt-Eat-Sleep-Repeat
That's what I do!

I Quilted a few Quilts in February. YEA for Betsy!
Even with all the stops and starts.

Diana, My Sister by Love asked me to quilt this for her Mom and Dad.

Happy Birthday to Pres Alder!
I was huge and filled the whole frame.
I tried a new pattern on it and it almost made me say a few bad words when
I had to keep re-starting Betsy.
We delivered it a day early, hurray!

Then I quilted Abby's 1st Quilt

I played with my Machine Embroidery and took an online class to make this
Spring Door/Wall hanging with MGQS in Logan
It took a bit of testing with the spacing and the CBT (Clear Blue Tiles)
I hope I can finish a few small projects with the CBT.

I made a few Blue Blocks.
These are for the Riley Blake Block Challenge 2022

Up next is Elizabeth's Quilt.

Tri-City Quilt Show is the 25th-26th of March.

Quilting Time

It's National Quilting Month-
I asked DH [Dear Hubby] to make a Quilt Ladder for me. It fits in the front entryway.
Just 2 - 6 foot boards and 6 Dowels to go in the drilled holes.
I might stain it and put some fabric over the dowels to protect my Quilts.
I'm happy to display a few of my favorite Quilts.

This is still happening in my Living Room.
My Sister, Roma came over to help me put it on the frames and she has come to help Quilt a few days.

I love seeing the stitches from underneath.

This weekend is National sew a Jelly Roll Day

This past week was the anniversary of 9-11
We learned about a Crowther who was there and saved fellow workers.
Click on his name to see  the video.

It's a Friday - Almost a Finish...

The fabric for Binding I wanted to use wasn't where I thought it would be.
I must have used it all on the last Border.
I found some Brown Fairy Frost that I liked ok.
So after a few cuts and a few more stitches and I had something to hand stitch while I watched TV.
This is my Bernina "workhorse" machine!
It was my #IGQuiltFest post for today.

On Ringo Lake is going to be up for the FULL Viewing at Tri-Cities Quilt Show!
Should I share it before??
My Daughters will need to draw straws for this one.
DD #4 - Daughter -by-love has said these are her favorite colors.
DD # 2 says it would look nice in her house. She saw it last night.
I think it looks pretty nice on MY BED, lol

Here is my Intro Post from Yesterday

It's National Quilting Month
Amy Smart over at #amyscreativeside is hosting the Instagram Quilt Fest again.

Lots of Quilts will get started this month all over IG and FB and Blogs
National Quilting Day is March 17

I have a "Secret project" in the works for Quilt Market!
I'm just a little excited to get it finished.
Cut, Sew, Press & Quilt
That's what I will do in March.
Ha Ha Ha, that what I do EVERY Month.

Judy L chose # 8 for the UFO of March.

 Tomorrow is Spelling Bee Saturday.
I wonder if we will do another Picture Block or the Letter Qq ???

Come back and see what's on my Design Wall Monday.

Design Wall Monday - September 3, 2012

I had to see how all of my Sylvia's Bridal Sampler 30's Blocks looked in position. It took two pictures to get the blocks shown.  you can see in the 2nd picture that the K row is complete.Remember there is no G row.  Next is choosing the sashing for this one. I'm up for suggestions...Leave them in the comments, please.

September is NATIONAL SEWING MONTH!
Yet Another reason to love President Ronald Reagan and September! He declared this on my Father's date of Birth in the year my oldest Daughter was born-

On September 21, 1982, at the request of the American Home Sewing & Craft Association, an industry and trade association supporting the sewing and craft industries, President Ronald Reagan, under Proclamation #4976, declared September as National Sewing Month “In recognition of the importance of home sewing to our Nation.”

Judy L chose the UFO for September--UFO #11  That is my BUGGY BARN STARS. I started these at the Royal ridges Retreat a couple years ago.  The fabric is by Pat Sloan.  Bonnie Hunter is celebrating the Month by tracking her sewing time on her Hand Quilting.  You can link up with her HERE.  Bonnie shows her sewing space.  All I dare show is the cutting mat.  My 'Woman Cave' needs some straightening up before I could show more.

I sew and watch TV too. Thanks to my Army Son for letting us Store his BIG Flat screen TV while he is in Cuba.  Today- it's DVR-ed Perception and a little Country Music while I stitch.

I plan to get some more blocks made this month. Maybe even get it to the 'flimsy' stage. Who knows. It's a month full of a Tradeshow, our Walla Walla Valley Quilt Show, Shop Hop and the Birthdays in my family that will necessitate my sewing more Grandchildren's Pillowcases.  August Pillowcases still aren't all delivered, yet.  They would have been on the Design Wall today but I am saving the showing of them until the grandchildren receive them. I don't want to spoil the surprise.

Click HERE to go and see more Design Wall Monday Posts this LABOR DAY.  There is no Mail in the USA today so there's more time to Browse the Blogs linked up there.
