December Day 16 - Homemade Nativity and Quiltville Chilhowie Mystery

Day 16 Nativity
Made for Paul's Parents in 2008.
So glad I wrote the date on the back.

I can't find the one I made for us in Blues.

The Quiltville Chilhowie Mystery Part 3 is about half done.
I still need to trim the 'dog ears' off the Quarter Triangle Squares.
Part 4 is posted HERE
Ready to stitch some HSTS this week.
Glad I found the Old Essential Triangle Tool behind the Quilting Machine the other day.
I ordered a new one just in case.
It is the BEST ruler for hsts!!!

Paul and I haven't opened our gifts for this day yet.
I'll post them with tomorrow's post.
We have just 9 Gifts left from the 25 we have wrapped.
I heard ladies complaining about all the fuss of Christmas, sad for them.
They said they do less every year.
I am tired, but I want all the Decorations and Nativities on Display and the Treats made and shared.

Happy Birthday to the Baby Jesus!

First Friday - Stitching in the Loft day

I am up early to get prepped for stitching in the LOFT  later.
Cut, Mark, Stitch, Press & Count...
Finding things around the house
to stay organized.

I don't think I Will run out of
Binder Clips.
I might run out of Chocolate,  lol
Found this turning stackable caddy on the
Quilt in a Day website.
There's magnets holding them.

I missed my WOW-WEDNESDAY post.
Finding a way to get the tree
to work one more year.
Don't you hate when the lights burn out?
The lights come in so many shades of clear.
Uggg, Warm or Cool??
 300, 100,  150, 70, 50 light sets.
Choices,  Choices!
The middle section is hard to match.
Guess who will be shopping after-Christmas sales for a new tree. ME!

Thursday, found me wanting to Play.
My sister was doing errands Walla Walla,
So a plan hatched.
Roma said, let's make Nut clusters.
We did them in the Crockpot pot!
Soooo easy!!
We tried to make mommas No-Fail Divinity.
Hahaha, I  bet she's laughing!
Here’s my TBT from yesterday.
Circa Christmas 1957.
I'm the Baby.
Love that my daddy took pictures of Us!
These old pictures are treasures.

Design Wall Monday & Quiltville Mystery Link-up Part 3 -not done

Quiltville Mystery "On Ringo Lake"
Part 3 is HERE

I have cut a few strips for this part.
I love my Essential Triangle tool for the flippy corners.
If I could just put my hands on that Essential Triangle Tool...Where oh where did it go??
No-Waste that way and not much trimming.

I'll link-up HERE for now.
Next week I will have a LOT more done.
There's a plan to Open sew at the New Sew n Vac & Spas.
I can't wait!

That's all I could do with a Family trip to Seattle for my Brother's "Celebration of Life"

Design Wall Monday/ Celtic Solstice Link-up December 16, 2013

My Design wall is not in use right now. I'm waiting for Bonnie to tell us to assemble blocks.
I made 25 Pinwheels for Part 3 + 51 of the100 hst's for the Small size quilt.
(The rest of the hst's are cut -waiting to be sewn.)

I liked storing the block parts in the zippered bags.  I have a few pieces of Part 2 to make with the New Background fabric I finally found.  I wish I could have found the same stuff but I am hoping this will do. Since Part 3 was easier I have all week to finish Part two Chevrons.
Here are all of my Block parts together in a Stackable TOTE.
Doesn't it look nice under my Tree?

I found this Holiday Beanie Baby to watch over my pieces. He's from 2002
His poem on his tag says:
"The other bears make fun of me
They say I'm just a wanna-be
But Santa if you let me try
I know for sure that I can fly"

I've got my fingers and toes crossed, hoping to get a phone call today from APQS telling me I WON!!!
