Wednesday - WOW- From Nebraska

WOW it's been a while since I blogged.
We have been here in Nebraska 3 days now.
Nebraska Sunrise Sunday Morning!
I has snowed a bit, Freezing Rain is in the forecast.

Zoom in and you can see the Winter Quarters Temple.
This is from the Mormon Trails Center window.
We are oh, so close!!!
The Basement apartment is mostly set up.
It is feeling more homey every day.
They said to bring some things to decorate.
My Mini from Janet O came along as well as my Wedding Quilt.

We are learning our Duties and soon it will be on us to do the Facilities Maintenance.
I love that we can walk where our Pioneers walked.

In one display case it tells about Patty Sessions.
She is my 3rd Great Grandma on my Moms side.
Her roll was to be the Midwife, she helped many bring new little ones into the World.
Some made it, some didn't...
She delivered the 1st baby in the Salt Lake Valley, if I remember right.
It's been awhile since I read her Journal Book.

It's almost my Birthday!
I was born just barely into the 15th of January.
(about 2 am)
My grand children who wrote letters to me already knew how old I'll be.
Ya, Rub it in, I earned every year.
63 and counting.
This was me on Monday after buying out the Grocery Store, lol
I only forgot a couple things.

I'm grateful for the prayers and storms that didn't keep us off the roads to get here.
We were happy to only have one stretch of bad roads.
We drove it in Daylight so it was a little better than in the dark.
Knowing when to stop and rest was Paul's doing.
He drove all the way.
My knees were up against the Glove Compartment.
Tight squeeze to get all the stuff I packed in Vacuum bags and our suit cases in.
The vacuum in the bags didn't last.
Some leaked air, or were torn in the process.
Maybe it was the cold.
Note to self: Get the thicker Vacuum bags.

I have to get to sleep now, going to see the Kanesville Tabernacle Wednesday,
so I'll say goodnight to my Blogging friends
and those who will read this from Facebook when I link it.
Love and miss you all!
 HUGS!!

WOW Wednesday ...What I'm Working On

My Body is still rebelling.
My Bed has captured me and I have slept like a Baby since coming home.
I haven't sewed a stich yet.
I'm still in the un-packing process.
Getting ready for the Next Road trip and Retreat.
It's easiest to do the laundry and re-pack my bags.

My pics on my camera from the Retreat finally Uploaded, but I keep getting a Read-only message.
I took so many that I want to share.

The 301 had it's 'maiden' Retreat at Royal Ridges.
She didn't have a name but she is now "BONNIE"
She did so well.
I used all the bobbins I wound.
Thanks to Carol, my Tablemate's Bobbin winder, I was able to re-wind and use more.

You saw my NEW Projects I worked on HERE.

I had SEW Much Fun stitching between the blocks.
For my Leader/Enders I made many Hourglass and HST units.
Some of the HST's went into these Moth in the Window Blocks.

These are made from DH's Shirts and some Thrift Store finds.
Glad I took some pictures on my Phone.
They take a little bit more Editing before I can post them.

Come back Friday for More Retreat Pictures.

Wednesday- WOW ---What O WEEK

I may be back among the living today.
It's been a hard week around my house of Sickness.
It all started with a tickle and has put me down for the count.
My bed has been my friend and sleep between coughing fits has taken all my energy.
No sewing - No Blogging - No eating of Yummy Christmas stuff.
 Have you missed me?

Last week I got all my Mail out and thought I had time to finish up those last minute projects.
Well, That  didn't happen either.
Neither did my OMG or other Goals.

DECEMBER GOALS
1- Find the Tri-Recs or make more.
I did find the Tri-recs I was missing and the camera re-appeared.
2- Quilt something -NOPE
3- Keep up with Quiltville Mystery - Sort-of
The clues are printed out and I am still waiting for the Fairy Frost I ordered.

I received many great gifts and my Card Door is full of Christmas greetings.
Just like I like it.

This is what "2016 Sickmas" looked like
Dear Hubby gave me nice and cozy Warm shirts, Chocolate and a bit of Blake Shelton.
He bought some Fleece sheets too, but I will trade them for Flannel.
Too bad the Chocolate has lost it's appeal right now.

I swapped Stocking with my Sister and she dropped off a bag when she brought me Chicken Soup to feel better.
It contained this-
Those Tropical Beaches are looking pretty GOOD!
This ornament - motion-activated was a cheerful greeting as I passed my Tree.

My 2 girls & Elizabeth braved a quick visit to drop off gifts.

DH got stuff too, Too many Pictures to share.

We got See's Chocolates from J & K family.
I wish I had the appetite to enjoy some.
Jeff sent a Papa Murphy's Card -something to get when I feel better.
Brant & Tina gave us homemade treasures.

I haven't felt like doing much, I did try to go and cut some fabric -
I'm getting jumpy from not touching my Fabrics.  Needed a FIX.
I got a few strips cut...

For next Year I am going to work on THIS
"Be My Neighbor"

September Quilt Guild - Wednesday WOW

It was a Busy day for this Grandma!
I went out twice with my VT friend.
I made a few TULA Blocks and decided when I couldn't find my finished Block for Guild
that I had to make a NEW BLock.
I got the paper I'd printed to pass out at Guild and made the Curest little 8" Block.

It's a good thing I tested it!   Off to the Copier place to make the correct Copies.
When I got home I found my Blocks.
Here's the Demo Board.

Last Month at our Guild Retreat and a few ladies asked for fabric and instructions for the Block.
I was happy to oblige, I'd taken the bolt just in case.
It boosted our number this Month, but no extra Fat Quarters to win in the prize pot.
So sorry Rhonda, I owe you one!

I went up to spend the night with my Richland Grandchildren while their Dad was out of town and
Mom worked an Overnight shift at her job.
I was happy to have one of my Quilts from the Fair still in the car to sleep under.
The two oldest girls waited up for me.

Up at 7 am to get ready for School.
It was not hard to do what I can.  Just makes for a BUSIER 2nd Week than Normal.
With a stop at Krispy Creme I headed home.
That's why this post is later than usual.

What am I working on today?
Well, I've been making Tula Pink City Sampler Blocks!
Keeping up with posting 1 per Day.
Here are the next 9, tomorrow is day 30!

I am finding more fun things to fussy cut for these blocks.
It makes me smile just looking at them all in one place.

Hope you enjoy your Wednesday.  Whatcha Working on?

Wednesday- Row, Row, Rowing along-

The Row by Row 2016 started on Tuesday, June 21st.
I got out to some of the Local Shops.
 4 Kits, 2 License Plates
I'm half way to the magic number of 8 patterns to make my quilt.
I remembered and took pictures of the rows in the shops

My helper didn't want to go out with me again after lunch.
There is one Local shop with odd hours so I'll have to get it tomorrow.
I did go out and get one more this evening. Athena, Oregon is about 1/2  hour away but worth it-
Very Cute Row.
She included the buttons to go on the Apple Tree and knob for the house.

The kits are a little more $$$ than last year.
I feel if the Shop made up KITS and there aren't any Batiks in it -I will buy it.
It will save me Cutting time in the end.
I like that the rows are both Vertical and Horizontal.

I have a little more collecting to do before I decide for sure which rows will be in my Quilt.
Check back next week to see if I got any made between shopping.

Wednesday WOW - Quilt Market Special Exhibit

The SLC Quilt Market didn't have a real Quilt show with entries from the masses.
They brought some of the Beautiful quilts from the 2015 show.
I am sharing some of the favorites that I took pictures of with you

I had to take a close-up of the beading on this one.

The best was saved for last...
Who didn't have a Cute Cub Scout to teach the many Knots to earn a badge??
Isn't he cute?

These were so much better in person.
I love a good quilt show.
So much inspiration!
Have a wonderful Wednesday
