Another FriYay Flimsy and National Quilting Day

 I won't share the full quilt until the Quilt Show. 

My Old Town is a Flimsy

Here's the Flimsy Swirl I posted for IGQUILTFEST. 

Day 14 Recent Finish 

I worked all day and half the night to

 get the borders on.

I plan on adding a solid border to attach

 it to the leaders on the Q20

Then Quilt it and Bind it.

Quilt Show is 2 weeks from today.

Day 13 was WIP Storage

I store my Projects in a variety of Totes.

The fabrics and block parts stay together. 

I try to work on 3 at a time. 

One is a Block of the week with Riley Blake. 

We are halfway in the making of the blocks.

They are shared on Tuesdays. 

One is a long-term project. 

When I finish one,  there is another that moves up the Work on Progress (Process) ladder.

Since I have moved the Old Town to Flimsy. 

I can concentrate on a new tote.

Tomorrow I  will celebrate 

National Quilting Day with my Quilt Guild ladies.

It's a great day to work on my WIP'S.

WOW-WEDNESDAY- IGQuiltfest

It's been fun thinking of how to post 

each day of March.

Day 8 Scrappy Finish

I did the Binding on this Charity Quilt. 

I am counting it as my finish.

I will turn it in at Guild this coming Monday. 

Day 9 Fabric Storage 

This cupboard holds my favorite saved collections.

I used a ruler to fold the fabrics to fit the shelf.

I also have totes stacked,  not pictured. 

My bolts are on another shelf.

Never too much fabric. 

My Granddaughters can shop my Stash

for Grandma Quilt Camp. 

Day 10 Studio Pals

In my Quilt zone I only have the 2- Legged kind.

My Granddaughters. 

Theses are a few who are always welcomed. 

We love spending time choosing fabrics and patterns. Playing on the Design Wall, Chain piecing,  first blocks and finished Quilts hanging in 

Quilt Shows. Hope that we can get together soon. 

I miss my Grandma days in the Quilty Zone.

Day 11 Cutting Station 

When I rearranged my Quilting Zone I needed an extra cutting station.  I looked all over for the Bed Risers to get the Table up to a better height.  

I have lots of favorite tools.

My Essential Triangle Tool from Bonnie Hunter is my go to for cutting hsts and Flying Geese. 

I use the clips and Alphabitties to keep Block parts together when making blocks.

I use them to sort block sets also.

I won the small Turntable at Garden of Quilts last year.  It makes trimming my hsts easy with my Tucker Trimmer.  

I didn't know I needed it. 

The Olga Rotary Cutter works so smoothly through many layers of fabric. 

Now the igquiltfest promise is for pressing matters.

I can't find my clappers. 

Day 12 Pressing Matters 

Some blocks pressing to the dark doesn't work.

We had enough turned in for 2 winners. 

I'm all caught up.

Gotta get on the machines and finish more Quilts

for the Tri-City Quilters show. 

Monday- post Daylight savings time

 Does Daylight Savings time get you?

I was a few minutes late to my Daughters of Utah Pioneers meeting today.

I forgot to change the alarm clock in my bedroom. 

I realized before I was an hour late.

Hurray for a Goal met this last week. 

My Quilt Challenge for the Tri-City Quilters show was turned in on time!

I took it into Quiltmania in Richland. 

Found a cute piece of fabric for a secret project.

And a few Scraps that jumped out of the basket.

I finished my first trip around the board of

my UFO Game with My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe.

The Alien got me

My task to pass to the next area...

I have to say goodbye to my friend Jane.

Her and her hubby; Paul leave tomorrow to 

go back to Utah.

The WWCC Men lost their basketball game Saturday night. So the season is over! 

After I rest my back, I'll get those Hsts pressed and trimmed for the Lotto Block.

Yesterday's post in Instagram went awry, I forget to make sure I edited my photos before hitting post.

I had heads cut off. 

Day 6- Quilty Fashion

 I resemble this one! I Wear my Quilty Fashion every place I go except Church, lol. I made my Quilt Jacket after going to Sew Expo in Puyallup. I used some 3-D flying geese on the sleeves. A trick I learned from a guy Quilter. Mark Lipinski, I think. I have T-shirts from all the Places I shop. I also buy a T- shirt after my Quiltville Mysteries from Zazzle. I' m quilty from Head to toe. I wear Quilty socks. I have Quilty Pjs that I wore at a fun Retreat with online friends. I had too much fun taking these pics, hubby helped. Enjoy this day of Quilters wearing their faves! In Fashion or not!

Today's Prompt is Lesson Learned 

Day 7 "Lesson Learned" when making a Mystery Quilt always make All the parts. I'm trying to finish this Quilt and couldn'r make it as big as the pattern because I didn't make all the parts.  The first pictures shows that I cut them out. But didn't sew them. These are part of the Sashings. I didn't do in sashing flip and sew corners like the pattern. I want it done for the Quilt show this month, so it's  not going to be as big. So, note to self, finish every part of the mystery blocks to make putting it all together is easier.  Also, when Webbing with sashing and cornerstone be sure start on the Right top corner. Lay each row out and pin. Use those pins to make sure you aren't twisting the rows. Lesson learned!

I had fun teaching my friend how to Web a Quilt. 

This lesson is a good one!

We had to clip one of the Webbings on the 

right side to untangle it.

WOW-Wednesday

 I am making progress.

I have used the hsts as Leader/Enders.

I am loving the process. 

I got these Found Blocks sewn too.

Only turned one corner, it is an easy fix.

Today was Digital Dealer Exclusive day.

I watched the Video and prepped to stitch the 2 blocks out.

I had to go find a different Blue to finish.

I think I used the wrong pink fabric,  oh well.

March Monday- National Quilting Month

 Day 2 was on Sunday so no Blog post was made.

I have a few First Quilts. 

I chose to spotlight my first Block of the Month. 

First Quilt cut out using a Rotary Cutter.

As I mentioned yesterday, I signed up for a Block of the Month at Hancock's in 1991. Jo Fox was my first Quilt teacher. She came each month and shared a Block and a fun project to use the Block pattern. I finished it by the Pillowcase method, it has a sheet as the backing. I stitched in the ditch to quilt it. In the many years since this Quilt, I have learned so much. Quilting by committee is Sew Fun. Thanks @amyscreativeside

Day 3 is Sewing Machine

I have this Featherweight 

It was in the basement not used since I was in charge of Quilts  at the Walla Walla Fair.

It's been a few years.

It's easy to take with me to stitch at

 Powered by Fabric.

I started sewing on my Ocean Waves

in January  on it.

Eddie found a 1/4" foot for it.

I can make more Blue and White hsts.

Today is a UFO sew day.

I don't want this one to become a UFO,

so I will sew on it.

Day 1 Introductions 

Born and raised Washington State. I am the Baby of the Family. Yes,I am Spoiled.

Grew up under a Quilt.  We always had a Quilt on when Grandma came to Visit. 

LooSome were  tied with yarn.

Been quilting myself since High School. I made my Clothes in Junior High. 

I needed warm Quilts to take with me to Rick's College. (now BYU-Idaho) watch for that Throwback picture coming up.

I love to participate in  #igquiltfest

As a newlywed I watched Eleanor Burns, Alex Anderson and others on PBS. On a tiny Black and White TV. Meeting quilty Friends and teachers was fun. I met Eleanor Burns at Sew Expo! 

I joined a Block of the Month in Pasco at Hancocks, learning from my favorite, Jo Fox! Made my First Block of the Month and Stitched on the Ditch. I was hooked!

I joined Quilt Guild when I moved to Walla Walla.

I worked as the Assistant Manager at the Walla Walla Hancocks doing the Block of the Month.

I started my Blog after our Hancocks closed and got a Quilt Buddy to sew and Quilt. 

Since then I have joined the Quiltville and My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe and Kimberbell and Missouri Star Communities. The Riley Blake Garden of Quilts is a great Destination in the Fall. 

Visiting MGQS was a highlight for me. 

Going to MSQC Birthday Bssh and doimg the Cake Walk with Jenny Doan for Quilty prizes - Sew Fun!!

Social Media has helped me be involved in more activities.Now that I'm retired, I should have more Sewing/Quilting Days.My sew days are more fun with friends.. The best part is Sharing the love of Quilts with the next Generation.

I gave away 38 of my Quilts last Thanksgiving.

I'm a Quilter from my head to my toes. Picture taken by the Quilt ladder built by my helpful hubby.  Forgot to put on my Glasses. I'm that old!

Happy FriYay- A Friday Find

I was looking at totes with projects in them. 

Found these block parts.

All cut and sewn 4- patches, triangles in a square.

I laid out the parts, enough for 10 blocks.

There's a few more Peeky and Spike blocks to sew.

We'll see how many more Blocks I can make.

I  have a few days to stitch at Eddie's. 

This would be a fast finish.

This Moda fabric has 'aged' well.

1997 was a long time ago.

We lived in the Double wide then.

Was I making this for a Seahawks fan?

 I have all the sashings sewn and am ready to 

web this Mystery.

 I entered it in the Tri-City Quilt Show.

Gotta get it to the finished line!

It takes a little switching around but I'm done

playing, time to get sewing.

We went back to our Connell Ward Building.

It was a sad occasion.

I was so surprised to see a Doll I made for her

on the table of memories.

Had to take a photo by the sign.

I am nursing my back, so I can sew later.

Found our Tens unit and got some sleep!
