Wow-Wednesday

It's a rest day for me!
I went to sew at Eddie's Powered by Fabric
I worked on my UFO from 2017.
Lots of flying geese!

I figured out why this one was waiting so long.
The finishing instructions came while I was in Arizona saying so long for now to my Brother Selwyn.

I love it so far,
19 sets of five Flying geese left for now to frame top and bottom of each block.

I finished my Spring Trio
This is a fun project from Kimberbell.
Just a bit of work to make on my Bernina 700.

It was a good Mail day.
My Quiltmaker magazine came.
They are revisiting the 100 Blocks in the place where Addicted to Scraps was.

I have Quilts to finish for the Quilt Show still and a certain Baby Quilt to make.

Whatcha Working on?

FriYay Finish

I had a long Quilting day and got the Charisma Workshop Quilt from last March Quilted.
Oh how my feet hurt!
It only took a year. 😆
It still needs Binding and labeled.
Just a few photos until the full TaDa at Quilt Show.

I bought 2 Gray Backings so that worked.

The Quilting pattern is called China Grove!
I was rocking to the Doobie Brothers!
Youtube Here

I love the swirly texture!

Getting better at the spacing.
ILl have a few nights of Stitching the binding and putting on the temporary split hanging sleeve.
Embroidery on the label to do.
It's only 9 months late now.

Day 5 of IGQUILTFEST
Why do I Quilt?
That makes want to tell a story.
There was this challenge in 2011! I entered it! In the end, I wasn't the final winner, but I still have the experience and Friends and Memories. I have had jobs at places that don't exist anymore. When I quilt i can make something that wasn't there before. My Quilts will still be here long after I am gone. I have a few Quilts my Grandma put stitches in. I don't have a record of how many she made. I just know that whenever she visited us when I was small, there was an event that needed a Quilt. My mom said a house need a living room big enough to put up a Quilt Frame. My Creativity is how I spend the lonely days after all the children left our home to make lives of their own. I am grateful to see my Quilts in their homes after I gifted them Thanksgiving 2024. Now I'm quilting for a new generation, I have Great grandchildren to keep me busy making quilts. Sew many Quilts in my head, so much pretty fabric and patterns to use. The biggest joy is seeing the finished Quilt hanging outside before the gifting or in a Quilt Show. It's the TA-DA moment. I did it All Myself!
Every Quilt really does tell a Story!

Day 6 Quilty Fashion
I love matching my Quiltville Mystery with a
 T-shirt from Zazzle.
ThT reminds me I haven't ordered the one for
Lupine and Laughter.
Happy FriYay!

March Fourth!

My Mother by ❤️ always called this the day to March Forth, like a mighty Army!
The Prompt for Day 3 was Sewing Machine.
This Janome was my Demo machine at Hancock Fabrics for the time I worked there. It sews a beautiful applique stitch and is light enough for taking to Sew-in Days. An extra machine for Grandma Quilt Camp too. it says "Quilter's Delight" on it and that rings true! I call her Janny.

Day 4 Sewing Space!
The sign says it all.

It's a tight fit for me on a milk stool.
But I fit.
It's behind the Longarm.

My Quilting Machine
Bernina Cadillac Q20
The blocks on that wall need to come down!
And the Quilting needs to get finished.
This Wedding Quilt is very late!

This bookcase is new this year.
Nice to have them all in the same place.

Happy Wednesday

Happy National Quilting Month

Amy @amyscreativeside is hosting IGQuiltfest
It's National Quilting Month!
#IGQuiltfest began on Sunday with intros.

This is me in my Happy place.
Quilting keeps the crazy away!
I love the piecing part and starting new projects. Quiltshow Deadlines motivate me. March is the Quilt show in Tri-Cities.
This year I add President to my List of names. I am having all the fun with Local Guild members. Stitching the day away and making new quilty Friends at Powered by Fabric. I love sleeping under my own Quilts, also love saying I made it all myself from piecing to binding. Some Quilts take way too long to get quilted. This one was one of those. Glad it's finished and will be gifted afterthe Quilt Show. I'm a wife of a very patient man. Celebrating 50 years together this year. Mom of 6, mom by love of 5, right now, Grandma of 26 and Great Grandma of almost 4.

Day 2 First Quilt
Made when I was in High School. I put it on my bed at College. It's seen better days! Almost 50 years since then.
Made from scraps of my clothes I made.

How it looks now. Getting threadbare!

I sewed at eddie's today. I worked on my Designer Mystery Quilt from Fat Quarter Shop  2017.
I had all 12 Blocks made.
Just needed to make 312 Flying Geese, lol
For the Sashings!
Now I know why it was waiting.

I made 121 today
191 left to make.
I used my favorite Essential Triangle Tool
from Bonnie Hunter.

Who knows what the prompt for Day 3 will be?

Finally Friyay!

It's FriYay!
This Quilt is almost too big for my Q20 frame.
It's about time I got it quilted.

I started it last year at our Quilt Guild Workshop with Charisma Horton.
I combined two of her patterns.
So it's called "Hearth and Whisper"
The good news is it will be done before the 1st wedding Anniversary of our oldest Granddaughter .
And before their baby comes.
It will be a big Ta Da at the Tri-Cities Quilters Show.

I hope it gets up on the Big frames.
I am excited to start the Quilting.
That big white space is calling, lol
I will do a swirly Panto all over though.
I have just one more to finish by Show time.

Today is the day we get to Welcome home
Our 2nd Granddaughter!
She has served for 18 Months in California
as a Sister Missionary.
So...this Quilt awaits one more day.

Happy Friyay!

3" squares from my Scrappy Savers tote.
Sew fun!

Happy National Pancake Day
Chocolate Chip this time.
Yummy with bacon and OJ

This is all I can show for now.
It's my RWB  Challenge for Tri-City Quilters Show.
I kind of love it, not my traditional kind of project.
Just have to wait for Guild day to see all
 the Challenge Quilts.

I rolled another Double!

It's a Survivor Night!!
Happy last Wednesday in February.

Monday Again

I went to sew at our WWVQG Sew-in on Saturday.
Made a bunch of hsts for my Ocean Waves.
I need a lot more!
Variety is key in making the blocks.

It's this big, need it to grow some more.
This is a long term project.
It was fun to stitch with friends.

I got a couple of the fun prizes at the end of my
 sewing time.

I embroidered Lynn's name on Blue Shadowplay.
Now she can make another nametag for Guild.
Fun to play with the different fonts.

Today, it's rainy, a good day to stay inside and Quilt.
I need to turn in my Challenge Quilt next week.

It's FriYay

I was up watching the Ladies Figure Skating
I finished 2 of 3 panels for the Spring Trio.
Sew cute and time consuming.
Over and hour on each one.
Changing threads and cutting between stitches.

I have a Flimsy to share!
"Let Freedon Ring "
Time to add the "Frosting"
What color should I use?

Who ordered this??
It's melted already but a pain to sweep off.
Dr appointment for DH!

On the Grass, not too much.

Hope you have a good weekend.
Watching the Figure Skating Gala Saturday 😍
Guild Sew-in too!

Wow-Wednesday

I am finally all caught up with the
RBD Block Challenge 2026

The Olympics are boring today.
Amber Glenn fell and ended her shot at a medal.

I got up early and had time to cut out a block.
I stitched a few more arcs for my RWB
Double Wedding Ring

Ribbon Star by Fran Gulick

Ombre' Dash by Beverly McCullough

Square Knot by Jennifer Long

It's a catch-up Sew day at Powered by Fabric to finish our Double Wedding Ring quilts.
I am glad I found more stips to cut for the Arcs.
Getting it closer to Flimsy is my goal today.

Whacha working on?
