Boggling Borders.

It's a Mind- Boggling Borders Day.

I got all 15 of the Rows put together and I need to add some kind of Border.

I am trying to decide on them.
I really dislike doing Blob-o-borders.
I have the idea to sew the strips together before adding to the quilt.
It's big enough but I think the borders will finish it.
Then I need to choose a Cornerstone, choices choices.
This Row by Row has me on the fence.
I really wanted to have it finished this week.
Again Life has gotten in the way.

I bought the row fabric that was offered hoping to use it as the Border.
It doesn't work with this print, IMHO.
I can use it on the back, lol.
Wish me Luck!

Quilt Guild is next Tuesday, can I hope for a finish to share??
The weekend plans are fit for staying inside with all the smoke in the air.
Wishing everyone a Quilty Weekend.

Design Wall Monday - OMG & UFO -No Go

My Month of Stitching was so Limited that my OMG isn't finished and my UFO was a No- Go.
I did get 3 more rows made and am ready to assemble.
Here's your sneak Peek for the week.
The Luggage Row came from Tennesee, Thanks again Susan N.
I messed up a little and omitted the fused corners on mine.
I spent most of Saturday at the Machine and Ironing Board.
DH is asking lots of Questions as he watches the Row by Row grow.
It covers the Living Room Floor right now.
I am hopeful for a Finish later this week.
I finally found the Neutral Sashing I was looking for.
I knew I had more of it.

I recieved another package in the mail from Bonnie.
DUH, I ordered the Doug Leko Ruler twice!
I was so excited to get to her SHOP in time to get the Ruler Stickers this time.
That explains the kind of month it was.
Here's to a Better Month.
New Goals to set and some Planned FAIR time to get stuff DONE.

Wow Wednesday - A Day Late...

When you lose a whole day of your Life...
I've not been that Sick in a long, long time.

My Row by Row was calling me.
I tried to get the Discount Sew n Vac Row finished.
I got the Balloon pieces fused to the fabrics.
It looks pretty good.
I need a white Balloon shaped piece to do some fancy stitches between the colors
before adding it to the Row.

I made this tiny Friendship Star for the mini quilt that is an option on this Row.
An inch and one-eighth squares, whew, TOO Tiny!
Then I re-read the pattern, I need one more of them and 2 tiny 9-patches.

I'm too brain dead to think about it today.
Hope you're week is going better than mine.

Design Wall Monday - July 24th

After a long Roadtrip and emotional services for my Brother,  we took this photo.
Just 4 of the 5 of us are left.
I love my siblings.
I didn't get a chance to cut or Sew all weekend.
I was "Itching to be Stitching" this morning.
After a bit of not so nice business on the phone and a Meeting I got to it.

I needed one more vertical Row for my Quilt
I chose to make the Discount Fabrics Row from Kennewick.
It had a few of my NOT FAVORITE block in it.

I pushed through with a little help from my "frogger".
I just can't make a Log Cabin or even a Quarter Log Cabin without ripping.
This cute pin cushion arrived in the mail.
Thanks Barb L from the Leavenworth Retreat.

Friday Progress -2017 Row by Row

I have worked on my Rows, and laid them out how I thought I wanted to have them.
I slept on it over night and had an great idea, the above picture is NOT how it is going to be.
I went to get some of the Fabric that goes with the Row By Row this year at Lynn's.
LOL, I had already purchased Far Quarters of the fabrics.

And I'm thinking of HOW to Quilt it.
Left-Paisley Meander or  Right- Beauty ???

Sewing calms my heart.
Even when I get the Row wrong.
Ratherbe's in Pomeroy Row.
I read right on the Pattern to make sure the figures faced WEST.
Oops, they are going opposite of the way shown in the picture.

This Row took all day!
306 Pieces - each one only 1-1/2"
I had fun choosing random Pinks and Black and Neutrals.
A few of the Pinks are a bit too light.
This pattern came from Daydreams Quilt Shop in Idaho Falls,ID
Now I want to make it with Bigger Squares.

My Quilt now has rows from more than Washington.
I think I need 1 more Vertical Row and 2 more Horizontal Rows to finish.

This week has been extra long waiting for my Brother's Memorial services.
I had planned to be at the Lacey Lacer's IOLI Convention in Pennsylvania.
Just watching the Pictures that show up on my Facebook and Instagram feed.
It looks like they had Fun, but, I wouldn't have been good company.
I'm so glad I could get those plans changed.

WOW- Wednesday -New QAL Starting, 2017 Row by Row

Lori Holt's NEW Book
"Spelling Bee" is Here and the QAL starts later this Fall.
The School House Block Tutorial is HERE

Lori and the Fat Quarter Shop included a Signed Bookmark from Lori with the Book.
This week she shared another Quilt from the Book.
There are Lower & Uppercase Letters, Numbers and Punctuatiion marks.
18 different possible setting ideas.
Once again, the Blocks are given with either 6" or 12" cutting directions.

Meanwhile I have been still Collecting Rows as I travel, and making rows when I am home.
The Row from Ephrata has worked up pretty nicely.
The Panel sure made it easier than Piecing :)
I used my Embroidery machine for the signs on the tree.
This will also serve as my Label.
No automatic alt text available.

Here are my Prosser and Amelia's rows.
There is some embellishments to be added after Quilting.
The Sewing Basket Row needs the stiching thread between the spools.
I loved the fabric selected for them, it looks like thread.
For the Amelia's Quilt Shop Row, I had to make my Sewing Machine Purple, of course.
The Pin Cushion in the 1st square, needs some Pins.
I spent most of a day doing the stitching around the fusible on the Rows.
That takes a while to do, and lots of changing of thread.
I have WON at Amelia's, Sewing Basket and in Athena, Oregon.
Where will I WIN this year?
Now I have enough Rows made to complete a "Totally Washington" Quilt.
I think I want it bigger, though.
Julie H. inspires me, HERE

We had a few great Christmas Ideas shared at Tri-Cities Quilt Guild on Monday.
Have you started on your Christmas Projects, yet?

Design Wall Monday - July 17, 2017

The Row by Row is Not going to be done as Quick as last year.
There has only been one winner Locally that I know of.
 I'm taking my Time.

I will have the Quilt with the Most travelled Rows collected!
Here are Pictures of the Rows I picked up recently.
Lots of Stitchery on this one.

The Brigham City Row is Christmas Themed, the kit was Wool & Flannel.

I have seen the Row at Amelia's and I want to go and get it.
I want to put in the Rows from where I have WON before. LOL

Today is Tri-Cities Quilt Guild
I have a Charity quilt to finish the Binding on, so that is on my Mind to get finished.

I've spent most of my time playing with Pictures of my Brother.
I figured out that I could save $$$ by Burning my own CD's.
96 Pictures are saved on CD's for My Brothers family now.

Finally Friday - Distractions

Who knew how many things would Distract me from my Row by Row.
I had high hopes of finishing in record time this year.
It's Friday, and I haven't finished anymore Rows than what I showed on Monday.
I did spend a day working on my Embroider machine for one Row.
It will be like my Label with the names of where the Rows in my Quilt came from.
Ephrata's Row Pattern is Perfect for that.
Don't you think???

Thursday a SURPRISE envelope showed up in my Mailbox!
My sweet Wyoming Daughter by Love sent me 2 rows to add to my Quilt.
1 is from Idaho Falls, the other from Star Valley (Thayne)
I did cut out a few strips to make the Pink Flamin-GO!!

 As for Distractions
The Sweets were playing all week in Town.
Here we are ready for the 3rd evening game of the week.
2 Local young girls sang the National Anthem, glad we were there for that.
It was Throwback Thursday Night.
The Team wore their Brown Uniforms from when Walla Walla "Padres" Team played here.
And my DH didn't make me leave before the End!
Victory for the Sweets over their Rivals the Yakima Pippins.
6-3
By choosing to sit in a different area , we were the Lucky Winners of a Sweet Basil PIZZA.
That was sure un-expected and fun.
Extra leftovers for DH's Lunch.

More things UN-Expected...
We'll be going to SISTER's on Saturday for the Outdoor Quilt Show.
I can collect a few more Rows on the Way, lol
DH really does Spoil me!
Hoping to Meet up with some Blogging Friends.
Pictures next week from the Sister's Show...

WOW- Wednesday --Day after the 4th of July!

We had an Early Celebration of the 4th with an impromtu BBQ and going to a Sweets Baseball game.
Monday night was a Historical night in Sweets History-
16 Innings, many that were No Hits- no Runs.
Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling, people standing and outdoor
Here are 2 of my Cute Grandchildren with Sweet Lou dressed in R W & B.
Sadly our team didn't come out the Victor.

Thanks Milton and Christen and family for coming with us and spending the night.
It was great to have so many on our row at the Game.
We got home around 1 AM after the Fireworks.
My DH,  Sister and her Hubby left before the end.

They had a comeback AM game on the 4th, that was a WIN.

No stitching happened on the 4th.
I almost missed the Annual Frankland St Parade.
2 grandsons on thier decorated Bikes.
You can barely see DD#2 in her striped shirt past the Pole.
She and her kids came to our BBQ but not the Game.

I am happy to be Grounded today so I can work on my Row By Row.
My Back Window quit working last week.
Check out my Pizza box temporary Fix.

I am debating on which 2 rows I want to add to my quilt.
This one is from Discount Sew n Vac in Kennewick.
I might need a couple more vertical rows.
My time is running as I see more and More Winners.
None in Walla Walla YET!

Have a Great day after the 4th.
I'm hoping for a quieter night tonight.
