First Friday - National Quilting Month

Happy Day 1 of National Quilting Month
"Introductions"
How did I get started?
What makes it an obsession?

 Born and raised Washington State.
Grew up under a Quilt.
Been quilting myself since High School.

I love to participate in  #IGQuiltfest.
It's fun to see that quilters are from all around the world.

What make it an obsession for me is the Community.

I joined Quilt Guild when I moved to Walla Walla 20 years ago.
Since I joined the Quiltville and My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe
and Kimberbell and Missouri Star Communities.
Social Media has helped me be involved in more activities.
Now that I'm retired, I have more Sewing/Quilting Days.
My sew days are more fun with friends..

I stitched with the Club last Saturday.

My 'Origins' Quilt is coming along.

This Project is from the Me Time
By Kimberbell.
I needed to learn something new.

For the LeapYear Flash Challenge
I started on my Save the Date for March.

WOW - Wednesday

I got the Embroidery Kit to learn some new stitches

I missed Monday Posting.
I have been busy with a lot of other things.

Tuesday I had Dr appointment with my Primary Care Dr.
She is Prescribing some supplements and a Z-Pac
to clear up my ear Infection.
I guess I'm officially OLD!

The 3-YARD Challenge Quilt is done ✔️

I finished the binding tonight and emailed
a picture to the Walla Walla Store.

Our Granddaughter, Olivia received her Endowment
Grandpa subbed for the evening shift after so he didn't change into his suit.
We had a nice dinner after at Fiesta.
She is anxiously waiting to send her papers in to receive her Mission assignment.

Happy Wednesday!

Flimsy Fri-Yay 3-Yard Quilt Challenge

I.m a week ahead on this Challenge, YEA!!!
It' is due next Friday.
It took a few pictures to get the border the way that worked best.
This is how it looked last night when I gave up.

This morning I looked at the photo on my phone and changed it a bit.

Last try to get the corners to all be the same.

Hubby took a picture of me, I am tired from staying up late.

Betsy isn't behaving and I still have the Purple Jubilee on the frame.
SO, I asked at the WW Sew Vac and Spas how long they would take to quilt it for me.
Amber had just one quilt ahead of me so I took it down this Afternoon.
I chose Minky for the backing, it's lying on the quilt table behind the quilt.
I liked the "Camilla" Pattern to quilt it all over.
Just 37"x47"
We'll see what it measures after Quilting.

When I got home I un-Quilted what I did yesterday and tried again.
That took a few hours with the "Frogger".

Hope your projects are going better than mine.
This Big Purple Quilt might not make the Quilt show...

Have a good weekend!

Missed my Monday- Wow Wednesday

It's a WOW Wednesday after a No Blog Monday.
I should have a lot to share.
Monday was a day to gather strength.
It also was a Tri-City Quilt Guild, run errands sort of day.
The fun part of my day was my Cousin's daughter came to Quilt Guild!!!
When she introduced herself I got a shout out.
I should have taken a picture. DUH!
I think this is the only picture I took on Monday.
Posted on IG and FB
I got a new planter rack to put outside.
Ready for spring planting and warmer weather.
It was a fun puzzle to assemble.
Not as big as it looked online. Oh well!

Tuesday was an Open Sew Day...
I have deadlines.
I should be getting up early to stitch them.
I just love to stay up late and watch my shows that are finally premiering.
The Writers strike messed with my shows.
Most are doing a last season, so I'll be sad when they are over.
Back to the stitching.
I took my two challenges that are due March 1st-4th.
I cut and stitched and stitched.
The tiny cutting of the between Pickets for my Picket fence.

Results only will do maybe two sides of the borders.
I'm working my way from the outside on this project.
I love how they turned out.
This is how my Daddy built our fence around our house.
I am inspired by the story this little Quilt will tell.
Did I catch the vision?
I never asked why he cut them and placed them this way.
Maybe my mamma had a say in it.
PATTERNS!
Not like every other Fence.
Built by my Dad, with his two hands and a skill saw.
I remember painting this fence...
My daddy didn't let me paint the house.
Now I need to make the 'PINK'  house.
The screen door might be tricky.
This is the house in my Childhood memory.

Happy Wednesday, I'll be stitching.
I got my 3-Yard challenge put together and borders sewn.
There will be Frogging, maybe.
Gotta lay it out to see if the borders work.

Wow-Wednesday

I started writing this Blog early this morning.
I wanted to share a couple of the pretty Quilts shared at Guild last night.
This one started with the big Diamond hand sewn.
The other pieces weren't all there to make more big diamonds.
This Quilter, Lisa Woodbury, made the smaller Star to go in the corner.
It's amazing how she got the quilt and the story it will now tell.

Eddie Walker was in charge of the program.
This is her Round Robin that she did with a few friends.
The center Sun Bonnet Sue was made by her Mother.
Isn't it beautiful?

She asked me to bring my Round Robin and Row Robin Quilts.
You've seen them before.

No Mail Round Robin
2008 - 2012
Made before I started the Blog.
Each week we were given a different block to use in a border.

My WASIQ Round Robin - 2008-2011

WASIQ (my online Group) did a Row Robin
  2008 - 2010

SBS (Sylvia's Bridal Sampler) Round Robin
2010 - 2013

I took it to Colorado to a Book signing with Jennifer Chiaverini.
She signed the label.
Janessa liked it so I left it with her.
I had to borrow it to share Tuesday night.

I got a paper to start another one but it will have to wait until after the March Quilt Show.
I need to find a few friends to do it with me.
I think I want to use my Tula Pink Stash for it.

The September Quilt Festival Challenge was announced.
It's another Crayon Challenge
I think these are similar colors I got for the last Crayon Challenge I did.
That was in 2017 for the Tri-City Quilters Show.
I got 3 crayons that time and added a 4th color.

For Valentine's Day Hubby went with Janessa to Albertson's
Not my favorite but it will do.
Russell Stover is hard to find since our Rite Aid in Town closed it's doors.

He bought 2 cards so I gave him the 2nd one.
I made him some big Cashew Clusters and wrote on the foil.
It's our 48th Valentine's Day!

Paul's Aunt Valeea was born on V-Day and every year she used to send our children valentines.
I saw these and bought them but didn't get them in the mail before today.
Mailing them on Valentine's day counts, Right?
Paul spent the day at the Temple.
I sent a few for him to deliver in town.
I really had big plans to make Truffles to send with them to our Grandchildren on Missions.
They will have to get something more special at Easter, lol.

Tomorrow is Hubby's 70th Birthday.
We'll celebrate at Texas Roadhouse after we serve our shift in the Temple.

Super Monday

It was a Super Weekend.
Watching the MGQS Club work on projects and
Root on their favorite team was fun.
No trash talking.. only silence from the loosers
fans in the family.
It was a nail biter, going into OT.
I was rooting with our son in Missouri.
for the Kansas City Chiefs.
This package didn't get lost in an ice storm.
I loved the Flat Chuck that tagged along.
Missouri Star Quilt Company loves the Chiefs, too.

Before I could start on my Quilting of the
Purple Jubilee, I needed to clean out
the dust bunnies.
My plans were to get more done.
The 'Frogger' got a workout.
Not a good day with Betsy.

Variegated Purple Thread on top and Bobbin.
One Buttercup Feather border ✔️ DONE!

Then I tried a few single block Quilting.

I only got to roll it once.
Long frustrating day... on Saturday
Here's hoping the rest of the Quilting goes better.
Getting a no Stitching control message.
Need to consult the machine Doctor.

Fabulous Friday!

It's a Fabulous Friday!
I have the house to myself.
I've been printing off the patterns I want to make in the BOM and BOW projects on the Internet.
SEW many Projects - Sew little Time.
Laundry is going so I don't just go back to bed...lol

I played with my Cricut and made this T-shirt for our CFA
(Chief Financial Advisor)
He loved it!
My Daughter-by Love said he needed one...
It was fun to surprise him.

I am joining #TeamCleaningMaHomies with the MGQS Club this weekend.

I can't Sew much my calendar is FULL.
Putting stuff away and keeping those
pesky papers organized.

I made this T-Shirt for myself!
I need a Start-i-tus one, lol
More t-shirts to wear to the Quilt show.

Looking for the right flights to go on our VaCa to CA!

Wow-Wednesday

After a couple of Sew days downtown I have a few more Mystery Blocks done.
I need a bunch more if I want this one in the
March Quilt show.

I caught this Squirrel high up in our tree.
I hope he/ she doesn't think the Tulips
are for eating...

They are popping up!

On the west side of the house.

I had to make something yummy
for the sew day.
Chocolate No-Bakes.

How is your Wednesday going?

It's A Monday Sew Day

 12 blocks for my
3 Yard Challenge Done!
I took them to Powered by Fabric to give them a good Press!

I finished two more blocks for the Indigo Way
One of each added to the piles.

I think I have enough to do the borders.
Never to early to stitch a few together.

I have a few more weeks before the
Tri Cities Quilt Show.
I have 2 Friends coming to hang out with
Me this year!

 Happy Monday!
