Monday - TC Quilt Guild Day

I am awake! 

I don't want to miss thet Tri-City Quilters Guild.

I didn't get the binding on the Quilt I brought home.

Time flew this month. 

Too much gardening and Temple Time. 

I am happy to see blooms on my Dahlia.

This one is hidden down in the leaves.

The Gladilolas bloomed and fell over while we were on our short Vacation. 

I have one week to wait and see what blooms

 in time to turn in at the Fair.

Then I have one day to Quilt my 

50th Reunion Quilt 

It needs one more Border.

Crimson and Gold Forever!

I got new Glasses.

I will get my hair trimmed on Wednesday. 

Thursday night the fun begins at Chicos!

Here we were at 40 years.

FriYay already

It's FriYay and that means Vacation is over.

We had a few days with 5 of our Wyoming Grandchildren and their Parents in 

Spokane and CdA. 

Back to real life...

On a swing in Cour de Alane (sp) CdA 

Our Neice, Anita lives in Spokane Valley.

She met us in the packing lot at Mirabeau meadows

She came with Popsicles to share. 2nd cousin's met!

I braved the sandy Beach, waves lapping on 

my feet and legs. 

The sunscreen helped a little.

My lower legs are Sunburnt!

We drove to Moses Lake on the way home.

49 years since we met

We were babies on that 1st date at the Grant County Fair.

Me with my Nephew, Derlyn V.

His youngest showed her lamb in the

 Premie division. 

Good it wasn't a bigger lamb.

Best part, I got my Spaceburger!

And a couple to take home.

60 years of the Lady Lions making them at our Hometown Fair.

The only other thing we did was look at the Quilts.

I didn't know any of the makers.

The cake display was cute, so I took a picture.

Laundry is going, caught up on emails and 

did the Printing of downloads.

Monday Mail and Progress

Got my Designer Mystery Block for August.

Thanks Fat Quarter Shop.

My Christmas in July QAL is caught up.

This is the Toys and Joys Block.

I added Hats to make the Sleigh runners look right.

Fixed the Reineer knee, I like it better.

All 4 weeks completed.

Finishing Directions come on Tuesday. 

I am sew glad I could stitch Friday night.

It's a FriYay

The day didn't start as planned.

I told DH I was going down to sew a Sleigh.

That's the 4th part of the Fat Quarter Shop Christmas Mystery QAL 

"Up on the Housetop"

Still haven't made it downstairs to sew.

He had an appointment so he was gone while I finished eating breakfast. 

When He returned he mowed part of the lawn and started throwing stuff away. 

It was my box of letters from our Mission...

I yelled, "NO"

Had to retrieve the History.

He threw out a bunch of Liahonas yesterday. 

Then I got a text that my new Glasses came.

So off for a drive I went. 

Texted this to my DD#2

I was parked by STASH. 

Had to do some 'Fabric Fondling'

A bit of pretty Purple Tula and Tilda would cheer me up, right?

Nope had to find the Bright's parking spot

 in the back, got my Dole Whip and a 

Chocolate Truffle. 

Hope your FriYay went better than mine.

I have a Quilt Flimsy!

Sew day at Powered by Fabric was a success.

The design wall in the Back room was a good place to get a full on Picture.

I'm debating putting it in the Walla Walla Valley Quilt Festival in September.

I already have 3 entered.

I love the Illusion created with these simple blocks

I saw there was a downloadable icon for the 

"Up on the Housetop QAL

Yesterday was the last Block. 

Finishing instructions will come next week..

On Monday I stitched the Week 3 part.

"Reindeer Games"

The tiny flying geese were tricky. 

I need to fix his front leg. The knee needs some more tiny hsts or flippy corners.

I did the extra hsts for the Antlers.

I like it better.

I have a Sleigh Block to stitch.

Here's my first Gladilola bloom for this year.

It is too early for the Fair again. Darn it!

Monday Monday!

 I spent Saturday stitching the rows together, then sewing all the rows. I pinned each seam and I have a TA DA to share this morning.

Checking to fit our Queen sized bed. 

I know there's clutter on the end tables.

On the living room floor.

The colors changed a bit between.

My Purple Stash never deplete.

I will always have Purples. 

Maybe just smaller pieces.

This didn't make a dent in the Stash. I'll use up some big prints for the Borders and Backing.

I love that I changed that Center Square. 

It is an optical illusion with White on the Outside going Sideways and purple going Up and down in the center.

So glad to sew the day away!

Busy week ahead.

Hubby has 3 appointments today. 

He said he has no pain, just weakness 

in the right leg.

It's August FriYay!

I had a heck of a time figuring out how to put this mess of 4- Patches together.

At Powered by Fabric on Wednesday that's

 all I got to work on.

I came Home and laid it out.

There was some Frogging that had to happen to make them turn in the same direction. 

I think I like it so far...

I had to stop when the clock struck Midnight. 

I pinned the unsewn squares so I'm ready to stitch them on each row.

 I need to cut some more White parts

for the edges. They will be trimmed.

Eddie says to cut them an inch bigger on one side.

So, I will cut 4.5" x 5" pieces.

I won't lose the 1/4" seam that way.

Then I can choose borders.

I think I will do a 3 strip border then Scallop it.

That center Square is not staying. 

I have an extra Butterfly square that can go there.

More Ripping to do before I sew the rows together. 

Using up my Purple Stash!

The four Patches are mostly Scrappy, so laying it out was the only way to distibute them around. 

I needed to find a Tan piece like this.

It's for the Reindeer in Week 3 of 

"Up on the Housetop" QAL 

I thought I  had a piece in my stash somewhere. 

Into the tote-filled room I dug.

DH came down looking for me and helped me get out of the room by handing me totes to stack back in a different order. I found a few totes of Christmas  projects to find a Tan close to this.

I looked at Stash, but they didn't have that Bolt with the fabrics line Pine & Berry.

This might Work, if it is wide enough to

 cut the many pieces.

I get to use the whole set of Alphabitties and a few of the Double letter set I already have! Yea.

But first I need to sew those rows I laid out...

I was too tired to pin all these blocks together so they are still on the Design floor.

I was extra ache-y on Thursday at the Temple.

Quilt Yoga is hard on this old person.

DH has 2 appointments. 

He went to the 1st one alone while I get going.

I was up before my Phone alarm rang.

It's a UFO Sew Day downtown at

Powered by Fabric.

I missed going last week when it was on Friyay.

What will I take to work on??

I have many UFO choices.

Ocean Waves needs Blocks made with or

 without the Purple.

The Wedding Quilt has been shown to the Granddaughter.

It needs a Green border to attach to the Quilting frame when she comes to help me.

This mess was my Purple 4 Patch Trip.

It got dumped by someone who lives with me...

I need to sort it out again. 

It would be an easy choice to take.

The Christmas QAL isn't a UFO yet and the 

Designer Mystery needs to be started now that my fabric kit has arrived. 

Whatcha Working On?

Last Monday of July

Friday and Saturday were Days on Zoom with 

My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe. 

I didn't stitch much on Friday.

I missed a couple Check-ins.

Saturday I was less interrupted.

I saw this weeks Up on the Housetop row and decided to change my fabrics.

That meant a re-do of the week one.

I liked the idea of making it look more cursive and not so pixelated.

It entailed some Unstitching of 1.5" squares.

I'm glad I found my Christmas Stash.

The Navy Blue is a better Background.

It felt good to Get it done before the next week of the Quilt-Along.

Friday was a Sew day at Eddie's. 

It was also my day with my DUP Ladies.

I didn't get a picture.

Marilee brought an old photo of our group from 2013 when we met at Whitman for Pioneer Day.

I passed out the books for when the Fall 

meetings begin again. 

I need to order 1 more spiral bound book.

Not the Fryay I Planned

 It's MGQS Zoom Day to warm us up for

 Kimberbell Day! 

Bingo card is ready!   

Won't know what this is for til check-ins this AM.

I have a Daughters of Utah Pioneers Potluck around Noon, so I can't play all day.

I'm tired!

I came home to a kitchen that was all turned around and rearranged.

My Turntable that held my Flavorings and cake colors was missing and moved!

They moved my Canned goods higher and my cooking pans below.

I know my DD#1 & 2 kids had good intentions...

They came while I was serving at the Temple.

I'm feeling a little Disrepected.

But I wasn't able to sleep much.

I was up and down playing the game of 

Hide and seek again. 

It was giving my DeJaVu from 4 July's ago when I came home from Nebraska.

I got up early this morning and had to dig 

through my garbage can. 

I was not happy they threw away my 

Mexican Vanilla and Canadian Baking Powder!

I found them!
