June OMG - Progress

My OMG for June has been worked on, I took it to my Leavenworth Retreat.

This time I actually worked on it most of a day.
16 more arc/ring blocks were finished, with a bit of 'frogging'.
Next up is some trimming.
I have enough, almost, for the center.
Hoping to get enough sewn to complete the center this week.
More Grandma time!
I spent the week with 3 of DD#1 children.
We sewed some Jr rows.
DGD#2 was the 1st Jr to turn in her Row at Discount Sew n Vac in Kennewick.

The last day she made 'Rover'.
With added spots!

WOW - Wednesday - 5th Leavenworth Retreat

This was the 18th annual WASIQ (Washington State Internet Quilters) Retreat
I learned that they used to have two Retreats each year. It started in 1999.
Now we just have one in June around Father's Day.
I felt the need to leave before this picture was taken. :(

I borrowed it from Joy.
There was a missing girl in the mountains and I needed to get home for Church.
I got an email that she was found while I was on my way, Thank Heavens she was found safe.

I usually leave on Saturday afternoon.
I miss the "Greedy Gift" exchange and Saturday night dinner.
I have missed out on the pictures many times.
Dee's Country Accents is closed Saturday so there isn't someone to take our Picture.
I tried to get a picture this year on Saturday after Dinner.
I've attended 2009, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2017
There was a SE WASIQ Retreat in 2013 also, HERE is the link to that post.

I had Pizza with these two ladies... yes we ordered from the Bar next door.

Mel took this one of me with Julie.

Note, no Beer tanks behind.

Here's my Greedy Gift, My other one got stolen...

Disappearing Hourglass was our selected "Lotto" block

I Won the Australian fabric from Marge W in the Quilt-O game.
I made 2 blocks with it for the Lotto. (left picture is before the slice and switch)

Dawn B won 16 of them.
...really Julie WON, but she gave them to Dawn.

First night is Show n Share, I'll have to post those next time.

Design Wall Monday - Row by Rowing & Retreat

I've been busy traveling to and from my Leavenworth Retreat
I took the Long way there collecting Rows on Thursday.
[not as long as last year's route]
I made sure to stop to take my DGD #1 to turn in her Jr Row to Thread and Bolts first.
This is the "Friendship Bracelet" Row
Thread and Bolts had them "kitted up" so it was a quick finish.

Then I took her to Discount Sew n Vac in Kennewick (no Picture)
Craft Warehouse was next on the way to her house.
License plate says "Radioactive Qltr"

Then I stopped at Quiltmania in Richland

Janean's Bernina in Pasco

The Old Hotel - Othello
(a new Shop for the RxR)

The Water Tower is a LANDMARK!

Here is the Moses Lake Row

Moses Lake Kitted up all of the Jr Rows
 This is their sample Quilt.

Ephrata's row had a KIT, and the option to use a panel for the background
I chose the Panel for a quick finish, lol

While at Retreat we picked up the Leavenworth Row
Here is the wasted fabric I had to trim off the 2" hst's for the Leavenworth Row.
Melissa & Julie and I with our Finished Rows
The background fabric was different (less fabric) in a couple kits so some of my parts are  pieced.
I got by with a little help from my friend - who shared.
279.5square inches and 365 square inches are no where close.

I sewed and fused a few Rows at Retreat
I am about half way there.
The rows need some lettering and buttons, that will be added after the quilting.

Here is my picture of my Rows and Plates - minus the Kit for Thread and Bolts row.
15 Rows collected - (sold my T & B kit to a friend)

I also worked on my OMG & Tula Pink Blocks.
They're geting closer to the finish line.

It was a productive weekend.
A Lot of Late night/early mornings with my friends.
More pictures on Wednesday.

Friday -fun times with Grandpa & Grandma

It's been a Fun week to have our #1 Grand-daughter here.
Grandpa said she was a great Helper.
Girl's can go to Day Camp TOO!

We went out on Wednesday to get the JR Row by Row for her to make.
This Jr Row is called Friendship Bracelets.
We bought a Kit for this row and got the pattern for the Rain Boots.
The Stash of Ric Rac and Ribbons came in handy.
We went to use my Free Del Taco Coupons and to Sour Grape for Frozen Yogurt.
She finished her row in one night, just like I thought she might.

I went to pick up rows in Walla Walla, College Place & Athena while Cub Day Camp was happening.

Here are the Row's we collected so far...

I will try and have a few Rows done for the Design Wall Monday post.

WOW- Wednesday-- Working on a Finish

DGD #1 worked on her Spring Break Project and got it to the Flimsy this week.
Here she was sewing on the Borders at her house.
Now it's Grandma's Turn to get it Quilted.
Backing and Quilting Design have already been selected!
Just in time for the Walla Walla FAIR & Frontier Days Deadline.
Entries DEADLINE is August 5th.

This is how is looked back in April on the Design Wall.
She was very 'Creative' with her Color Choices and Arrangement
of the Fussy Cut Churn Dash Blocks.

Photo by Her Mom, before we brought it back to Walla Walla for the Quilting.
I'm sew Happy she got it to Flimsy.
All the Fabrics came from Grandma's STASH!

DGD is here for a few Days helping Grandpa with Cub Day Camp.
She is a great helper!
Grandpa said yesterday he heard "her mother's Voice" coming out as she gave directions and encouragement to the boys.
Last night she watched Bonnie on QuiltCam with me.
I sent an email to Bonnie with the Picture of us with her Creation.
That was fun, Bonnie didn't show her Quilt on the QuiltCam.
She did send a reply to me email afterward. :)

Grandma will take her for some Row by Rowing after the Day Camp today.
There's a Row by Row Jr at Thread and Bolts that we plan to make a project with.

What are you working on this Wonderful Summer Solstice Day??

Design Wall Monday - June 19, 2017

Today is a Tri-City Guild Day!
I will attend the evening session.
My Grand-daughter #1 will be going with me, I hope.

ThankYou for your guesses on the Crayon Challenge.
The Winning Block was the Hedgehog.

This was my BLOCK
Biggie Sized from the 6" block Kathy in Canada showed on her Blog last Monday HERE
Remember the Story HERE about my Daddy painting our House PINK?

I spent my week still trying to decide what to make for my Girl's with June B-days.
The Wall hanging I had planned to give #2 Daughter-by-Love was a major FAIL.
(no Pictures)
I ended up doing Embroidery on some Towels for them.

Pictured is DD#1 with her gifties.
I delevered the other gift at a Baseball game, no time for a Photo :/

SWEETS Baseball had a Star Wars Night.
No automatic alt text available.

We were a bit too late arriving and didn't get the Lou Bobblehead of the night.
I did take one home Thanks to a kind lady in the row behind me.
She said they didn't NEED 3 at their house.
Here is my Collection of 2 -Sweet Lou Bobbleheads.
The FORCE definately wasn't with them- they lost 14-3...

Friday, Friday - Quilty Inspiration

It was a Rainy, Rainy night!
I could have chosen to just stay home.
But on Thursday morning I finally got into the Quilt Zone and SEWED!
I had to take my Crayon Challenge Block to guild.
There were over 30 entries - WOW
It wasn't easy to get a picture.
3 long tables worth
I had to take some Close-ups!

Can you guess which one I made?
And which one WON?
Which one is your favorite???

Nothing like a Guild Meeting to get me out of my Funk!
I want to make some of these 12" Blocks, I have a few of the patterns.
No, I won't be making any of them anytime soon, but it was fun to play in my Quilt Zone.

Not only was there Blocks for inspiration -
The ladies from a couple local Quilt Shops brough thier Row by Rows.
You can get the patterns for these 3 Rows at THREAD and BOLTS
The top one is the 9th Row, two bottom rows are 2 versions for Row by Row Jr.
I'm more excited now to take a grandchild or two to Collect rows this next week/month

The HIGHLIGHT of the evening was seeing Baby/Toddler Quilts made at the last SEW-IN.
From some of the Blocks I designed last year.

My Friend Marilee made these Purple Checkered Dresdens for a Wedding Gift Quilt.
Click to Biggie Size and see the Buttonhole stitching!
