WOW = Wednesday, Working on More Blocks-

Since I can't QUILT---

I'm in a block making MODE!

My Blogging friend HERE counts her blocks each month. 

I sewed all day Tuesday in my PJ's- I was freezing with the change of the Season.

I made my new Siggy Square from Doni into another Arkansas Crossroads Block

I have 47 now.

The 1st Blocks from the Farmer's Wife 1930's have been selected HERE

I made them using my Novelty 30's Fabrics. 

I love to Fussy cut the pieces.

Notice the small block at the top?

That's what happens when you don't read the directions all the way

 and Print the PDF from the CD in the back of the Book.

This how they will be set in the full quilt. Had to check how they will look on-point

My Farm Girl Friday Blocks are all caught up now too.

I cut out blocks and clip the Alphabitties on the parts while I watch TV.

This SAL is almost DONE.

I can't believe I've finished almost all of them!

The Bicycle for the "Snapshots" Block of the Month got sewn also.

There are just a few Blocks left in this one.

The Pinwheels are the tiniest I've ever done!

I chose to use some of the new fabric I got in Portland for inside the wheels.

My total of Blocks is 278 

(if I count the block parts that made the bigger blocks for the Arkansas Crossroads & Country Roads)

I can't decide which fabric to use for step 3 of the Country Roads.

Which do you think would work best? Left side or Right side??

I got great Mail today.

The Row by Row Quilt came home &

 I got more License Plates and patterns from Wendy and her 2 girls.

I love collecting these plates!

Design Wall Monday -Northwest Quilting Expo- September 28, 2015

I was happy to walk around the Northwest Quilting Expo with Doni B who Blogs HERE

We met at the 2013 Block Party in Portland.

We took all the same classes then, it was so much fun to see her again.

Thanks to her and a few her Bus load of 24 friends who I was glad to meet.

Friday was a blast compared to Thursday.

Long story SHORT...

DH/Paul & I traveled to Portland with a TOO long visit to the Repair shop in Hood River.

I stopped at the ETC Quilt Shop in Hood Rover to get their Plate and see the Row they made.

Wind surfers on it- very typical of the Hood River area.

The Winning quit in their store was nice too.

Way Too Much $$$ has gone into our "OLD LUMINA" this past week.

My ever optimistic DH says, " Now we have a Les Schwab and Tow Truck Story."

I'm grateful we could get it fixed and get back on the road to spend the night as planned.

Instead of attending the show Thursday I directed him to see the Warehouse at EESchencks. 

There wasn't much time to run and find what I wanted so I settled on a flat fold Bundle of Flannels, 

 an extra set B of Marti Michell's templates and some Tuscany pre-packaged battings.

I showed them my Butterfly quilt and got the email of the lady I need to send info to sell patterns.

I missed seeing Kelly and Chris at Trends and they said they missed seeing me too.

The Hotel was right next to Black Angus, so that's where we had dinner.

 At the Expo on Friday- I was happy to see my Quilt as I walked in the door it was to my left. 

The Row by Row quilts were a special Challenge exhibit in the show.

There were 11 Row by Row quilts.

I didn't spend much $$ at the show, 

Only bought half yard cuts of these 2 fabrics.

& I got Doni's Siggy for my Siggy Quilt

Doni and I had dueling camera/Phones taking pictures.

 My Favorite Quilts in the show were all the Farmer's Wife quilts.

They were grouped together and were varied and so nice to see!

20 of them.

How about this one?

Inspires me to get mine finished for next years quilt shows.

I just needs to be quilted.  I may have to resort to hand quilting it...

Seeing this Sunbonnet Sue and Sam/Overall Bill just made me smile.

BETSY is Possessed

I tried to un-connect and reconnect Betsy's cables and now she stitches at will 

and beeps and makes lots of noises.

I took a video!

I finally had to just unplug everything and give up - until I can get a tech to come and fix her.

So SAD! :(((

I had to go and get some Chocolate!

I'm entering to WIN an APQS Lucey HERE

Well, that meant I got Steps 1 & 2 done on Lori of Humble Quilts SAL done.

Then I made  the 4- patches into Step 2

I had to use 3 of the Brown fabrics twice.

Ready for the next Clue!

It's almost the end of September and my Block count is growing still.

Especially since I can't quilt. 

Farm Girl Friday blocks are all caught up and there is only 2 weeks left on the SAL.

3 more Blocks on my Snapshots QAL

and I think the Vacation Time BOM ends in October

 so this is a good time to start something NEW!!!

Monday starts the NEW SAL with the 

1930's Farmer's Wife on FB and with Gnome Angel's Blog HERE.

Featured Quilters and My Favorites.

 The Local Featured Quilter was Lianne S- our Guild President from last year.

She started out making -Traditional quilts - Hand Quilting them.

Now she does Art Quilts and has a lot of fun turning fabrics into People, animals & reptiles.

The Int'l Featured Quilter- Katie Pedersen came and did an workshop last year for our guild.

A few of my Favorites from the Festival...

I didn't take a picture of the Lotto Blocks that were made. 

 I heard Lucky Pat C from Guild WON them all.

I didn't WIN the Go Studio Cutter. :(

I brought these goodies home with me- 

I had my Gift Certificate so less $$$ from my bank acct.

I finally found a Quilting Ruler in my price range to stitch straight lines on Betsy!

Design Wall Monday- September 21, 2015

My Blog readers all KNOW me too well! 

You all chose the Purple Butterfly quilt as MINE!

This was how I spent the Saturday before the Quilt Festival.

Pin Basting and quilting the Butterflies & Lilacs, My Challenge Quilt for the show. 

 I used my two sizes of Blue tape to mark lines for the Border.

What would you have done different for the Border?

"Helga" did ok, but I wish I could have quilted this on "Betsy"

I added the body and antennae on the Butterfly with the stitching.

My Pebbles still need a little practice.

The Label and the Back.

 

I have Bolts of this fabric so I can make a Bigger quilt with many colors of Butterflies.

I spent my Gift Certificate from 'The Sewing Basket' to buy a few more of the fabrics that match.

It's "Fresh Violets" by Maywood. 

I missed being at the EESCENCK'S Trends this weekend. 

As usual I have to choose which fun thing to do.

The Quilt Festival was the winner this time.

I went in after Church, just before it ended so I could get pictures of the Ribbons.

 3rd Place People's Choice - Mary's Garden

I didn't see these 2 quilts when I was taking Pictures yesterday.  I had to borrow them from FB.

This is a lady who worked with my Husband when we moved here 11 years ago.

She retired and now she gets to do her Embroidery and quilting.

 

The Dresden quilt won 2nd People's Choice.

the 2nd one won the Stash award from our LQS.

 Jess' quilt won 1st place- People's Choice- Summer Friends

Best of SHOW- People's Choice

Cathy S won Judge's Choice and People's Choice for the Challenge.

There were many more quilts that I will share on Wednesday. 

The Internationally Known Featured Quilter and Local Featured Quilter, 

my favorites and the goodies I brought home..
