Wednesday- WOW ---What O WEEK

I may be back among the living today.
It's been a hard week around my house of Sickness.
It all started with a tickle and has put me down for the count.
My bed has been my friend and sleep between coughing fits has taken all my energy.
No sewing - No Blogging - No eating of Yummy Christmas stuff.
 Have you missed me?

Last week I got all my Mail out and thought I had time to finish up those last minute projects.
Well, That  didn't happen either.
Neither did my OMG or other Goals.

DECEMBER GOALS
1- Find the Tri-Recs or make more.
I did find the Tri-recs I was missing and the camera re-appeared.
2- Quilt something -NOPE
3- Keep up with Quiltville Mystery - Sort-of
The clues are printed out and I am still waiting for the Fairy Frost I ordered.

I received many great gifts and my Card Door is full of Christmas greetings.
Just like I like it.

This is what "2016 Sickmas" looked like
Dear Hubby gave me nice and cozy Warm shirts, Chocolate and a bit of Blake Shelton.
He bought some Fleece sheets too, but I will trade them for Flannel.
Too bad the Chocolate has lost it's appeal right now.

I swapped Stocking with my Sister and she dropped off a bag when she brought me Chicken Soup to feel better.
It contained this-
Those Tropical Beaches are looking pretty GOOD!
This ornament - motion-activated was a cheerful greeting as I passed my Tree.

My 2 girls & Elizabeth braved a quick visit to drop off gifts.

DH got stuff too, Too many Pictures to share.

We got See's Chocolates from J & K family.
I wish I had the appetite to enjoy some.
Jeff sent a Papa Murphy's Card -something to get when I feel better.
Brant & Tina gave us homemade treasures.

I haven't felt like doing much, I did try to go and cut some fabric -
I'm getting jumpy from not touching my Fabrics.  Needed a FIX.
I got a few strips cut...

For next Year I am going to work on THIS

Quiltville Mystery Link-up #4 and Design Wall Monday - December 19, 2016

It's a MONDAY around Here!
I didn't get to work on Clue 4 until today.
Last week was full of SNOW Shoveling, Grandma Time and Goodie making.
My Activities Calendar is FULL!  It's a good thing, really.

Imagine my Horror to find I have run out of my Neutral, the White Fairy Frost.
So sad I didn't realize in time to buy some last week.
My trips venturing out have been few.

So I have just 4 of Clue 4 made
76 more to sew
My Clue 2 needs more of the Neutral also.
I will get more fabric once the LQS opens today.
The New Baby Quilt used up the fabric I thought I had for the En Provence.
I will show the 4 Clues again. How are the colors looking?

Frozen Friday & Festivities

I am surrounded by SNOW!  Over 10" have fallen.
Image may contain: 2 people
That is what my Sweatshirt says...
I spent so much time shoveling and sweeping yesterday I didn't even go into the Quilt Zone.
I helped the neighbor clear the driveway so they could get out of their garage.
I read today it's been 8 years since we had this much SNOW in Walla Walla.
The front of my car made an impression in the snow!
Cute Reindeer treats- pretzels googly eyes and chocolate.

At the December Guild we had a Sock Exchange.
Eddie W made mine.

Betty W got the one I took.
It was FUN!
60 Members attended and 3 guests.
Image may contain: 1 person, sitting, eating, table and indoor
We turned in our Challenge Blocks from the Retreat

The Grandsons had their Holiday Programs this week and I got to have my Grandma time.

YAHOO, we get to play with more PURPLE this week.

I decorated a couple small trees for the Toy/TV Room and the 'Reading Room'
Thanks to Janet O, who shared the cute Mini Tree Ornaments!
The Red, Silver, Blue and Gold ones belonged to my Dear Mother-by- Love.
Paul's Sister Anne made the runner under the Red & Gold Tree.

One more week to get the rest of my projects DONE.
Check back after Christmas to see if I got it ALL finished in time for Christmas.
The Grandchildren's Gifts are all mailed and/or ready to wrap.

Quiltville Mystery Link-up and Design Wall Monday - December 12, 2016

It's a SNOW DAY/SEW DAY/Grandma Day
No School and I'm not venturing out on slick roads!
I'm combining my Design Wall Monday with the Quiltville Link-UP
I didn't get much stitching done over the weekend so I was up early to sew.
Then I got the call that I was needed-
Here are my purples I chose.  Some are being changed out.

I got just a few strips sewn before the snowbunnies came for the day.

 Clue 1 -3
The Lavendar and my Constant are looking pretty close.
I might have to re-think the constant.

I have a LOT of cutting, sewing and trimming to do while I'm snowbound.

                                                    Monday measuring of the SNOW
Almost up to the 7" line.

Grandma's car is snowed in.
Daughters of Utah Pioneers Luncheon will be missed today also.
No need to go anywhere as long as we have the WHITE stuff falling.

Frozen Friday Finds

Oh what do you do in the Wintertime?
It was like midday at Midnight with snow falling all around.
I had to take a mental picture, too cold for me!

This morning found me making my FAVORITE...
Hot cocoa with marshmallows and a Candy Cane.
Toast ready to Dip in and eat, wearing my Fuzzy Pj's.
Thanks to a good Quilt Buddy! Lynn Wilson.

Then it was time to WORK
The snow had to be swept - so the mail and newspaper can be delivered.
This is the backyard.
Not really, had to Measure it first!

My trusty Edge Ruler shows up in the white stuff.
Nearly 4" of it- BRRRR

It's not just work around my house, as you all know.
The Lost Camera and Quilt parts for Mary's Mystery were located last night in my basement.
Right where I put them,..
They had been covered by other stuff though.

The units aren't measuring up to the correct size.
Re-Cut or RE-SEW with a smaller seam?

The week has been a little of this and that.
I made THIS on Wednesday!
I'm playing the glad Game-

The new Bumper is on my Car.
I crunched it the day of the Trunk or Treat - opps!
I'm grounded, but I don't even care.
DH had to drive the car, left the little heater that defrosts his truck.
Battery was dead.
Our Christmas Cards are ready to MAIL, in spite of SNOW!
Decided NOT to write a Christmas letter to insert.
The Picture tells the story.

It's time to go and print my CLUE # 3
Quiltville Mystery 2016 won't get done if I sit and play on the Computer all day.

Decking the Halls or 'Wrecking the Halls'

"Wrecking the Halls"
musical figurine - from my Christmas Around the World Collection.

Pictures of my Decor...As Promised-
The Front Door
Live Wreath from the Boy Scouts (aka: Grandson fundraiser)
Primped up with Seahawk BLUE colored LED Lights.

Sometimes the DH -Paul helps with more than bringing in the Tree...
Posing with the Christ child figure of his Mother's Nativity.
This is a Special one to display!
Just one of the many Treasures he brought home after his Mother passed last year.
He took this picture of me putting the Angel on Top of the Tree.
I needed a taller step stool.

 Closer-up picture of Mom's Nativity
She always put hers on a piece of Velvet.

I cleared out the pictures from the top of my BIG Cabinet to Display more of my Big Nativities.
These are just a few of the Many, I have collected.
On the Top is the Mexico Nativity sent home by Elder Brant, by request in 2004.
Top of Bookcase
Gifted Nativities from past years - unique ones from Family & Friends

This is as far as I have gotten.
The tree is UP, Quilts are out, Christmas Library is accessible.
I have given Grandpa Paul a Book each year, same as the Children's families.

The Young Women have offered to do SERVICE by helping decorate for Christmas.
I am still deciding which ornaments to adorn the TREE this year.

The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints is encouraging us to do as the Savior did.
"Light the World"
HERE is a Link to the PDF Calendar to use this Season.
Many are posting their good works on Social Media, using the #LIGHTtheWORLD
I just want to keep my acts of kindness anonymous.

Yesterday was going to be a Candy Making Day - interrupted by the Snow fall.
Gotta have a sunshine-y day to make my Momma's Divinity.
Truffles and coconut filling are ready to DIP.
Just waiting for a clear day to play with my Sister!
Today is a SNOW DAY/SEW DAY!
