Monday- end of July report

This is my Scrappy Project that is slowly
getting worked on.
A picnic quilt Jenny shared a few weeks ago.

I got a box of batting for August Quilting.

I got 2 Chuck the Ducks and a Free pattern
in each one.

This was me on Kimberbell Day.

I had the day to myself.
I was hurting a lot so I just watched until
It was time to make the Cardinal.
I waited all day for it.
It needs a bit more trimming
I didn't change thread for the black eye.

I got the borders on the Bookcase Quilt

And I stitched a title on in a place that
needed a book title.

In between I made Frog’s Eye salad and Snickerdoodles for Sunday.

I got up early and went back to the Chiropractor.
The pain level is better, but no stitching.
Goodbye July!

Come back for the blog-o-versary soon.

It's gonna be a Flimsy Fri-Yay

Tis the time to get these two Flimsy centers bordered and ready for the Quilting.

The bookcase Quilt Border auditioning!
"Yep, It looks like a bookcase," DH says!

My Purple Passion
Quiltmaker 40 Year Jubilee Quilt
It needs a bunch of HSTS after I put on a thin border.
My Purple tote is still overflowing!
View from the side

The Yellow Lillies and Purple Petunias make me smile!

And this 10" square layer cake just brought me a Christmas Chuck the Duck!
It's Hydrangeas!  Oh My!!

We took a picture with most of the Moses Lake people who will be leaving our Temple Shift.
We are gonna miss them!!
But we got a new Coordinator and we get to keep our Hermiston ladies.
We'll try again next week to get everyone.

Tomorrow is Kimberbell Day!
A 'REAL' holiday for us!
I hope to spend some time watching and learning how to use Kimberbell stuff better!
There is so many other places to be on Saturday...
Plus a wedding later.

Happy Fri-Yay!
July is almost over.
Watch for the Blog-o-versary Post next week.

WOW-WEDNESDAY

Wow, these are multiplying!
Part 3 came out and it was easy.
I stitched at home and everything came together.
I struggled with finding a contrasting fabric for the bottom parts of part 2 and 3.

The kit from Fat Quarter Shop

Grunge tree - fun to change up the fussy- cut
parts where I can.

I think I am halfway done  ✔️
Part 4 and 5 left to come.
Will it be a Star on top and a scrappy border??
Flying Geese, Pinwheels, 4- patches and
 Square in a Square.
What technique is left to use?

I have a stack of cut-offs from the flipping comers.
Not sure what to do with them...
It's Scrap Day at Powered by Fabric.
Hubby thinks I'm crazy.

Happy Wednesday,  friends!

Christmas Eve in July - fun

We had fun Celebrating Christmas Eve in July.
Pamela brought a few giveaway goodies.
Eddie offered this cool tree made with
So kind of Wonderful rulers.
My name was drawn first, so I got it!
It needs the Quilting.
I will use it on a door and maybe add some ornaments to it.

I stitched 2 more of the part 1 of the Evergreen Mystery SAL  from Fat Quarter Shop.

I didn't take my extra fabrics so part 2 is
only part way done.
These two sections reminded me again why I dislike directional fabrics???

I suggested we get together for Christmas stitching on the 25th of each month to Eddie.
Pamela took it on.
No waiting for December last minute gifts this year.

We got the Walla Walla Valley Raffle Quilt designed on Saturday morning.
Using the Lori Holt Blocks made by Guild Members.
The Cow Block goes in the black space.
it needed a background-ectomy.
The background was provided for us to give the quilt unity.
A couple of blocks did not conform.
My Flower Block is in the center column, so I get to put that column together.

Happy Fri-YAy!!!

 It's Fri-Yay again!
I love having a day to rest after the busy week before the weekend.
Wednesday was the Lori Holt Day and I made a few of these Flowers.
Bright Zinnia and Happy Flowers Blocks.
Our President of the Walla Walla Guild has requested Lori Holt Blocks
for her Thank You Quilt in December.
Why not make them now while I'm playing with my Lori Holt Fabrics.

I also worked on the Evergreen Mystery SAL with Sherri and Chelsi's fabric.

It's with Fat Quarter Shop HERE
I ordered the kit so mine will be a copy of their Quilt.
I usually choose my Own Fabrics from my Stash.
This may end up as a gift, lol
Sneak Peak, Christmas in July!

Next Tuesday is the 25th.
I hear Monday we're doing a Christmas EVE in July at Powered by Fabric
What will I work on that day??

19 Years ago today
Then and NOW
Hanging out at the Sweets game
So much has happened in our lives since 2004.

WOW-WEDNESDAY

I have to share the Biggest Bloom on my Hydrangea!
Had to double check that it was only one stem.

I finally got back to the Highland Quilt shop in Athena when the boss was there.
She had already hung the Quilt in the window so the picture taking was harder.

My Bounty of Fat Quarters
Purples, Aquas, Grays, Creams and Blacks
The prize for the Row by Row was 15 Fat Quarters
Highland Quilts added the extra 11.
26 fun Fat Quarters to make something pretty

Paired up for a contrast check.
Possible quilt pattern in my head.

Today is Lori Holt Day, so I did some pre-cutting.
I love using the Alphabitties and Wonder Clips.
Flower Blocks for the Raffle Quilt or my Challenge Quilt.
Watch and see...

Monday - Tri-City Quilt Guild

There was another box waiting for me on the Porch when I came home from Guild.

Now, I have two of the Girlfriend Green Binders to put my patterns in.
We had fun at Tri-City Quilt guild playing Left, Right, Center with 2" and 2.5" strips.
I forgot to take my 5- 2" white strips. Thankfully Linda had extras.
they all got donated back for the raffle Quilt.
The food was abundant and yummy.
Now To find some bright fabrics to go with the one White strip I brought home.
16 patches in a 6.5" block to make for the 2025 Raffle Quilt.
I'm excited to be able to contribute to the blocks this time.
The pattern is one found at this link HERE
The pattern is called "Make your Point".
American Patchwork and Quilting

Our Crowther Family newsletter came out and this picture was attached.
The original 5 Crowther children in age order Youngest to Oldest.

It's Friday- I'm Sewing at Home!

Did you see my new Header picture?
I can't get enough of the many colors of Hydrangeas!
Some of the Blooms are HUGE!
They really like the East Side of our house.
Thanks to Hubby for moving them last fall,
 great idea.

We went to see the New Indiana Jones Movie with Roma and Gordon this week.
Gotta love a Matinee with not many watching and
a full bucket of buttery popcorn.
And staying for the Credits!
I had to see if it was the same actress who was in one of the 1st Indiana Jones Movies.
It was Karen Allen.

Sisters and Brothers
Thanks for indulging us crazy sisters and coming along.
We are a family Reunion when we get together.

This was under my Needle
Note to self- take the plastic off the Glitter sheet before stitching the palm tree.
I'll have to make another one.
I really need a Beach trip to use this beach bag!!

We love to see the Temple.
Yesterday was such a pretty, clear blue sky!
Picture perfect.

WOW-WEDNESDAY

My WOW- Wedednesday post is a real WOW!
Marlene at Kissed Quilts
Sent this Box to  me for Kimberbell Day.
I got notice Yesterday that it was sent.
It was on my front porch this morning!
That was FAST!

So What was in the Box???
A Retiring Kit to make the cute project Kimberly is doing on Kimberball Day!
I will have to watch it Virtually.
Also some Big rolls of Wash Away and Sticky Back stabilizer for my Bigger Hoop.
I got the Kimberbell Silky Solids Bundle and the CD's were a Bonus.

Last night we had our WallaWalla Valley Quilt Guild Annual July Potluck and Silent Auction.
I am so grateful for all the helpers who showed up!
Grateful for the support of Guild members sharing their excess stuff.
I took just a couple of photos.
I don't take pictures of people eating...

We doubled up on the tables in the diagonal rows with room to walk between on both sides.
We didn't fill in the Minimum Bid on our Bid sheets this year, by request.
A LOT of things went for very little $$$.
I have a few things I brought home and will get to the proper places ASAP.
I won't be doing the Silent Auction next year. Two years is enough for me.
Hope someone will pick up the reins and do it.

I think I am done with the Embroidery on the Book Titles.
I could do a few more. but it's time to get those borders on and quilt it.

I want to make another one. I found the Wood Look fabric yesterday I want to use.
Next month I will celebrate my 15 year Blog-o-Versary.
2008-2023
I've written a couple Thousand posts (actual count will be posted on the Giveaway).

Happy Wednesday!
I'm doing something different today.
I'll tell you about it later and share pictures.

Monday, Monday

Monday on Eddie's Design Wall
Downtown at Powered by Fabric.
It's a UFO Day!
I knew I needed a big space to put this
puzzle together.

All the Rows got sewn together.
I had just a short window of time today.
Glad to have the Center part done ✔️

I worked on the Quiltmaker 40th Jubilee Mystery
All year 2022.

Now I can measure and do the inner Border.
Then the Sawtooth hst Border
And the last border of Piano keys, all purple!

The next 2 days are very busy but I can breathe
a little easier now this part is finally done.

Home -2 Years!

I can't believe all that has happened in 2 years!
Our house doesn't look the same.
This was our view. WOW!

Today I am wishing I was in Sister's, but we have chosen the better part...
Shairlyn and I.
We've been Friends a long, long time.
I didn't recognize her when she hugged me.
Glad I could meet her daughter.

We made a quick trip to Moses Lake.
My friend's mom passed away.
So good to catch up with My 2nd Ward friends.
Gwen on the right side is serving a 2 year mission
Family History Mission by Temple Square.
She drove home for the service at
Grape Drive Chapel.

This is how our home looks today!

This has been our week!
We've watched the Sweets a lot this week.
The Fireworks weren't too bad on Monday either.

The 4th of July Day game was a scorcher!
I love sitting up high in the stands.
The umbrella helped and Jacob brought us some sunscreen.

Tonight we will be here again!
One of my CTR 5 kids is going through before he leaves for the Panama Mission.
Feeling really old today.
