Monochromatic Challenge- JANUARY
I know I'm nuts but I am joining in on another Challenge with Judy Laquidara. This time it's a Monthly Challenge making a Monochromatic Quilt. The color chosen for the month of January coming up is YELLOW! Not my favorite color, but I think on a small project it will be ok and I get to use different shades of it so it won't be boring. I want to make more MINI Quilts anyway so I will have one for every month doing this Challenge. Maybe I'll use them for more curtains. AGAIN!
Today will be a quiet day to hibernate, I guess. I'm not ready to sort out all the Christmas and Nativities until after the New Year. I've brought in some new totes to make sorting easier. I think it's time to sort the UFO's and get ready to 
See the dirt showing at the base of the hill. It hurt to hit there, the newest disc was slick and went the farthest. It was a fun way to start the Holiday with the Grandchildren. Tina wore Brant's old "starter" jacket because she left her big coat at her Mom's.
We did our Goodies making on the Christmas Eve day. We made some slice and bake Cherry Nut cookies, Fudge, Truffles, Chocolate covered Ritz with Peanut butter between and Tina Helped me make Divinity. I haven't even tried to make it since we lived in Mesa. That was more than 25 years ago. Thanks to my Blogging friend Judy L's Mom for the new method of making it and the teamwork. My mother always made yummy Divinity. Making it on the anniversary of her death was bitter sweet. Spending time with the family made the day easier than being alone. Caleb looks it over... 
Here is Grandpa opening his gifts with Caleb's help. A new pinstripe shirt, a long sleeved White Shirt, President Monson's Book "To the Rescue" and a conservative tie.
The boys enjoyed their Thomas the Train and were good to take turns for the most part. The hard part was holding the button down to make it go.
I really like the two new Shirts to wear, one is in my favorite color- PURPLE. I got a new watch even though I'd bought one for myself...I'm a Naughty girl. I gave Paul a GPS with Bluetooth so he can obey the law and of course a new SANTA that makes noise.

Christmas morning the Boys played "Chutes and Ladders" with Brant and Tina. 
We had 7 grandchildren at the Kids table and 8 adults on the pew and around the banquet table.
The girls wanted to go sledding and even though it was dark, and Olivia was wearing a dress - grandpa and Joe took Elizabeth, Olivia and Sam over to Pioneer hill. [Grandma found a pair of pants to go over her dress to keep her legs warm.]
Elizabeth decided not to go down the hill at Pioneer Park so she went in the front yard down the small hill. She borrowed Grandma's Black gloves.
While the adults were visiting, Tina got the children dressed up to do the NATIVITY for us. Vincent had just woke up so he is sitting on Grandpa's lap. Olivia was Mary, Elizabeth was Joseph, Sam was the Innkeeper, Colby the Shepherd with two of Grandma's lambs.
Caleb was one of the wise men, he brought an apple to the baby Jesus [doll in pillow
sham].
It was fun to have them together for a meal of Turkey, Ham, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Sweet potatoes, green beans, Jello w/bananas, rolls and two kinds of PIE. Nobody went home hungry. We called and Talked to Jeff in Missouri, and Janessa called to wish Tina "Happy Birthday". Brant and Tina shared their new game of "Word on the Street".
Sunday night Tina Brant and I played the game I won on a Blog earlier this month. Tina WON!
Kori wanted to do a Craft night at her Preschool for them. See how she has their full attention making popcorn for the Movie. Aunt NaDell made Colby-Safe sugar cookies, I made Cinnamon rolls, Christen made a yummy green bean cassarole, Brant and Tina bought some crackers and a Cheese ball. The cousins made some cute ornaments. Joe Roasted a Ham in the BBQ. Brant and Tina came all the way from Idaho to spend Christmas with us.
Because it was the only time the Grandchildren would be together before Christmas I took the Shelf with the little stockings and they got to open them and find out the wrapping paper that had their main gift in. 
There are 15 stocking hanging on there right now. I've already stitched Abigail's- I had the stocking already. I've had to purchase a new bunch of little stockings for the next grandchildren and we'll add the cup hooks as needed too.
A family tradition to put the Olives on their fingers...
We Miss those who live too far away to join us this year in our Celebration of the Baby Jesus' birth... We Pray for them and hope they have a very Merry Christmas where ever they are...
The Ward Christmas Social was on Friday Night at the Church. The Former Activities Committee did a short Program that included the talents of some of our Youth. Piano, flute and clarinet and singing...Well Done YOUTH!
3 Wise Men came to have their pictures taken with the Children and to give out some gifts.
We had to get a Picture taken with the 3 Wise Men and 3 wise Women... There is a Movie on the Hallmark Channel Dec 26th at 8 pm by that name. It is sort of a "Christmas Carol type Movie, but it's about a woman, at 3 different ages, looking at her Past, Present and Future.
This is how the Living room looks after some re-arranging and much WRAPPING of Gifts. I think a BIG box of "Christmas 'exploded' in there!
In the guest room, the Stockings for 14 grandchildren are hung... waiting to be filled.
I need to find some more recent wallet sized pictures to put in similar frames to fit on this shelf.
I found the shelf at a Yard Sale for $5 and added the Sawtooth hangers and cup hooks. Just 5 more sleeps until the Idaho Family gets here and we start the best part of the Holiday- FAMILY!
