Last Monday in June

Saturday was a Walla Walla Valley Quilt
Guild Sew-in
Eddie had fun playing with Patriotic fabrics.

Habitat for Humanity blocks on the wall.
We had a Sew Day and made a Lot of Blocks
 in the Spring.
Yea for our Guild ladies.

Lynn has been working on this one since 2021.
It's called Playtime.
She also finished sewing together her
Woven Diamonds made from a layer cake.

This is our fearless leader, eddie Walker.
She spent time cutting on her Accuquilt 'Bolt'.
It made this block easy!

I took my Workshop project
'Fresh Cut'
I made 4 partial blocks, just need the leaf parts sewn on.

There was a ballgame to attend on Saturday night.
It was Adam West Day at Borleske.
Da Da Da Da Da Batman!
A part of my childhood returns...
The Batmobile!
Adam West grew up in Walla Walla.

On the field

I spied Batman and Sweet Lou!

Star Spangled Banner under cloudy, darkening sky.
After there was a drone show.
1st ever in Borleske Stadium.

 Very cool!

FriYay- RWB DWR loaded

The Wedding RWB DWR is on Q20.
I can't decide what I want to Quilt it with.
Vergated blues, Parchment, light blue, cream??
I have lots of quilt patterns.
Choosing will be fun.

We're having a RWB charm Swap.
I cut a bunch so I am ready.
While I was cutting I cut some to make more Double 9-patches.

This came from Amazon, I needed a new
neutral purse.

Tonight we get to go to watch the Tabernacle Choir at the Hollywood Bowl.
It's a Watch party at the Church.

How are you celebrating 250 years?

Wow-Wednesday

It was Scrap Day at Powered by Fabric
Eddie suggested tiny 9-patches made
 from 1 1/2" strips
I showed her this quilt.
Double Delight a Quiltville Mystery from 2005
This is my friends quilt
I started mine and got sidetracked.
Still in  tote...

Eddie had 100 red and cream 9 patches already made, so she had enough to make 20
Double 9-patches.
It was fun to share a good idea with her.

I wanted to try and make 9-patches
From 4 1/2" squares, one light and one print.
My Double 9-patches

We finally made it to a Sweets Game.
The YSA went, it was $2 Tuesday.
They lost but we had fun.

Monday- After Quilt Camp

Yesterday was Father's Day!
His girls spoiled him.

The socks he got at Mill Creek Ward.

Friday evening activity.
Had to do it!

Sunday was the anniversary of my Grandpa Brown's birthday.
Thanks for the picture - my Cousin Teresa!

We Had a rock painting day at Powered by Fabric. For Clayton's Rock garden My Quilt buddy is making.
He loved the "Seahawks"
The purple rock has a blue heart for his mom!

All the rocks painted by friends today.

My Dahlia is blooming early.

Hydrangea blooms are coming.

This is a pretty lily!

Bonnie Hunter calls these "Ditch lilies"

This Grandma is tired!
Yesterday wore me out.

Friyay Flimsy

Grandma's Quilt Camp is done for this week.
2 & 1/2  Days!

Elle stitching her last border on.

Ta-Da!

We went to Grandmas favorite place for Photos.
On the infamous limb...

Over the Rail at the Gazebo.

Super Elle!

Back at Grandma's

Elle and her Quilt

This BIG  spool is empty.
Elle used a few bobbins!

She almost used a whole spool of Aurifil
I am so glad got her Quilt finished this far.
She learned so much.
1st time using a Sewing Machine.
1st time cutting fabric with a Rotary Cutter.
1st time using a seam ripper.
She learned to re-thread the Machine.
Wind a bobbin, press to the Dark side,
Pin blocks together, stitch from pin to pin.
measure then cut the sashings and borders.
A nearly perfected 1/4" seam.

1st time spending time with this Grandma.
Cousin time with Abby- bonus!!

Wow-Wednesday

Quiltin' Grandma Camp shirts made and delivered.

We started the 2nd Day with Breakfast Croissants
Alfresco,  lol the front porch.

Abby chose her favorite block

She was a trooper, learning to use the Essential Triangle Tool.
290 + Hsts.
We put her blocks on a sheet to look at them.
 Not the final arrangement.
Lots of ideas formulating for sashing and borders.
On point or straight set, wait and see.

Elle sewed her first row together.

Elle with 4 rows sewn with fun sashing.
I couldn't be more proud of these 2 Granddaughters.
They chose to come back to the house and keep sewing,  after we went to lunch at Taco Bell.
DD#1 Asked what I was doing, lol
Fixing cleaning, changing Needles and oiling machines!
Keeping the bobbins full!

We'll have a finishing day or two.
KD couldn't come this week.

Now to finish the Quilt on the Q20.
It's waited long enough.

Whacha Working On?

Monday& Tuesday Grandma Camp has Begun.

Let the Grandma Quilt Camp Begin!

5" squares turn into 4- patches.
Purples of every shade.

Hsts by the dozens
Ready to press and count.
Just a few more to sew.
We took a break to get pins and magnetic
dishes to hold them.
Had 2 for one Calzones at the park then went for ice-cream.

We have a little fun along the way.
Can't wait to see what these parts become.
Our first timer picked up the cutting, pinning, sewing and pressing right away.
Proud of both of them!
