Class Schedule is Ready!

I stopped in at Walla Walla Sew & Vac and Spas Thursday.

Seeing my Quilt on the wall walking into the store made my day!

Oh and so did my neice, Danette- I got my hair re-done finally!! Bye -Bye Gray!

I have 3 classes on it for April, May & June.

I'm EXCITED to Teach again!

Thanks to those who are so encouraging on my new Venture.

I am having FUN dreaming up new designs and stitching up pretty fabrics.

I wake up in the night with inspiration so I have to keep a Blank piece of paper and pen beside me.

My first order from Schencks has arrived.

I'm happy I get to attend Trends in a few weeks.  

Diamonds and Rubies will be there!!!

I took the long way home to avoid Road Work.

I needed to go to the Highland Quilt Shop in Athena. 

To get more of the Yellow for my Grand Illusion inner Border.

I'm thinking of adding another 3-4 blocks to the quilt to make it a little bigger.
 The Pieced border blocks will fit better if I do...

Wednesday - I went out to Thread and Bolts to sew.
We made purses to take to Trends.
Mine is made with Mrs Sew N Sew and Kona Bay Fabrics.
I had to add the Purple, right??

I used a piece of Moda twill tape for the button loop instead of a magnetic snap.

Here a Little Sheep, There a Little...

I hear it's the Year of the Sheep (Goat)...

Sheep are "springing up" everywhere around the Web right now.

I am trying really hard to resist, Janet O!

Janet O has made a bunch of Seasonal wooly mini quilts HERE.

Janet O calls them  "A Lamb for all Seasons"

They are from a FREE pattern HERE by Lisa Bongean called "Old Glory Gatherings"

I am VERY, Very Tempted to make one of these...

Resisting so far, but they keep showing up on my Blogroll.

Another cute one was seen HERE  on Esther Aliu's Blog.

It's FREE for those on her Yahoo Group.  I'm glad I am already on the list. 

I've saved the pattern, but since I don't have any "Babies" coming in the near future it can stay there.

I have this Lamb Sheep quilt that needs to be finished...

Deon, who Blogs HERE, shared it with Quiltmaker last year.

She named it "Sheep in the Meadow".  QM called it "Sheep Shape".

  I made "Sheep Shape" in the Mini size back in November.

I need to insert the legs and add the Hexie Origamis to it.

I think I can remember how to do it...HERE's Deon's Tutorial over on Riley Blake Blog.

Meanwhile, my week with nothing on my calendar suddenly got busier!
I worked on another Pattern idea and got he Sample "flimsy" made.

While I was stitching blocks together I found my Quiltville Mystery and started assembling.
Just one more seam and the center is together.

Gotta make sure the patches are in the right places...
The borders are ready so this one will be done this month.

Design Wall Monday- February 23, 2015

Still playing with Primary colors.

Lots of Bonus Triangles turned into Hourglass Units.

These are Leftovers from My Strippy Stars.

What will they become?? 

I'll be putting them into my EQ to see what I can make.

I have an idea I think will be FUN...

These are 3" blocks so it won't be very big.

The 3rd Sample will get finished this week.

More Patterns to be printed in preparation for EE Schenks Trends next Month.

How am I doing on my Goals???

February Goals

1- Get started on the Sew Simplicity blocks and the Country House block.  ie: choose a fabric or two. :( Nope

Finishing Instructions were given HERE.  Deon S has her finsihing idea HERE

2- Finish Writing & Testing NEW Patterns :) YES

3-Make a few more LUS and SBS Blocks of the week.  1 done so far 

(sometimes I already have the week's blocks done so I skip it.)

4- QUILT Something "Betsy"is very lonely lately.  YES

I hope to have kept up with the English Manor Mystery  :( Nope

 and have the 2 Grand Illusions to Flimsy by February's end.  :( Nope

I have one more week to get something else done on this list.

Meanwhile, back to the Quilt Zone- My weekly Calendar is FREE-

This one was from "Jumanji" shown on the Family Channel a couple nights ago.

One of the NEW Hallmark Movies had a LOT of Quilts in the scenes!

Design Wall Monday- February 16.2015

The REVEAL was given to all of us Downton Abbey Mystery Quilter's on Sunday.

I've not done the past few weeks blocks. 

On my Design Floor today I have enough ready to lay out the center.

It was a BUSY week with Quilt Guild, Lacey Lacer's Exectutive mtg and getting my

 1st Sample quilt finished, Quilted and the Pattern Printed.

HERE is the post about that.  

My Niece, a Graphic Designer did the Logo for my Pattern Making Business.

I could have spent Saturday Stitching and been all caught up on the Downton Abbey Mystery.

Instead, I spent the day shopping for Paul's Valentine and Birthday dinner and making 

Yummy Lemon Tarts!

They are so worth the time and effort it takes to make them!

1st Pattern Self-Published & Sample

I finished the Sample quilt for the KID's class I'm teaching in April during Spring Break.

"Strippy Stars"

Finished size 45" x 52"

I did a simple Meander on it.

"Betsy" did a great job!

Patterns will be available Downtown at Walla Walla Sew n Vac.

I was going to do a "GO" friendly version but that would take longer to get it all approved.

I'm taking patterns to Trends in March.

I only printed a few for starting out.

February Guild Night

Our Guild Block Lotto is nearing the end of the Alphabet.

This month is the letter "X"

I made a 2nd block with a lighter Lavendar Fairy Frost  as the Center square.

This was a block that takes a while to make all of the Flippy corners for the "snowball" type blocks.

We had 12 Blocks, I think, turned in tonight. 

 Barbara L's Mom; Robirta, a new quilter to join in on the fun was our  Lucky Winner!

My picture of the blocks on the table didn't turn out.

There were 3 QOV quilt tops shared at Guild.

The Sawtooth Stars were made prior to the day.  I made a few of these.

A total of 75 Blocks were made that day, including all of the Ohio Stars.

Design Wall Monday- February 9, 2015

I took a break on Saturday to spend the day making Blocks for the Quilts of Valor effort.

It was a National QOV Day and my Guild hosted a fun Sew-in. There's a QOV Blog HERE

The Guild provided a Crockpot lunch of yummy soup and rolls.

I'm glad I could attend!

Jessica M is our QOV Sew-in leader.  She said the goal of the day was to make a bunch of blocks to stock up for more assembly of quilts through the year. 

Two ladies were assembling quilts as we stitched new ones.

Other Blocks being made were  Ohio Star, Jacob's Ladder and a Chain Block.

Jessica showed them at Guild last month.

I only had time to make 12 of these blocks.

The pattern is from Quilter's Cache HERE.

I could just make it the normal way.  

I brought some Red, White and Blue fabrics from home to use.

I couldn't lay my hands on any "Flag", "Star" or Patriotic fabrics

 as I was hurrying to get there Saturday am.

I first though of making the blocks with the Blue as Background all around.  

Opps,the White snuck in there...

A new block made.

I had a couple of my Grandson's Basketball games to watch in the afternoon.  

It was nice that they were in Walla Walla this time.

His team won both games- Go Kennewick AAU team!!!

I put the 12 blocks on my Design Floor to play with them.

I'll add this coloring to my EQ7 and see what kind of sashings and border look best.

I wonder how many QOV Quilts were made for National Quilts of Valor day?

Day 2- I shared three quilts that were hanging around in my home.

(I could take the pictures with my phone and upload them easily, FB was being dumb)

A "seasonal" Quilt made from Blocks gathered on a Shop Hop I took with my Oldest DD  and DBL.

I made a different version for my Sister. 

This one hangs inside on my back door window, I see it as I leave the house.

This quilt was made from Spool blocks given to me after I served as Co-Chair for the Local Quilt Guild back in 2007- I finished the quilt myself in 2010. 

This one hangs in the window of the Basement bedroom as a curtain.

"Spools"

The 3rd quilt for the 2nd day was this one.

 It began as a Strip Challenge at Guild in 2010.

I liked it so well, I made a 2nd one (different design) to give away for the challenge instead.

This one hangs in my stairway as I enter the Quilt ZONE!

 Day 3- It's the celebration day for our Oldest Grand-daughter, so I shared her 3 quilts I made.

Her first quilt-made to fit the tiny bed she slept in.

I used polka dots and backed it with flannel and hand quilted it.

Attic Window "Raggedy Ann"

For her 2nd Birthday I made this-

"Sun Bonnet Sue" 

 I was taking a Block of the month class at Hancock Fabrics with Jo Fox and she designed these patterns just for us. I used fabrics leftover from some of her and her moms dresses.

In 2009 I was busy making quilts for all the Grandchildren's birthdays.

I'd made sample blocks for the Block of the Month I taught at our NEW Hancock Fabrics in 2008.

These were left over from those classes.

This is when I learned to really LOVE the Quilter's Shades fabrics. 

These blocks came in monthly kits that were $4.99 and fun to make.

I added hourglass blocks to the top and bottom for this version.

 Born on a "Fast" Sunday in February of 1979.

My Father was staying in his Travel Trailer, outside our home in Mesa, Wa.

 I'm so glad he was there to watch Milton while Paul took me in that evening.

This pic is one of the 1st ones taken of him. It was taken by John Shaw at Medicine Shoppe in Pasco.

We drove him to Utah to enter the MTC. 

I liked to take my Elders through the Salt Lake Temple on the way.

Paul, Brant and I flew down to say good-bye to Elder Joe when he left Utah for the 

Mission home in Guatemala.

I love this Picture of the brothers, 

I was hard to send a Missionary to a Foreign land, but I knew he was in the Lord's hands.

He came home and returned to BYU-Idaho where he met a sweet girl from Pasco.

We teased that he had to go clear to Rexburg to meet a girl from our own Stake,

Always the "teaser" Joe & Kori switched boys with his big brother for Family pictures.

Brant and Tina asked for them to hold a letter of our last name and take a Picture. 

They put them all together in a frame for my Christmas gift.

I love that kind of Christmas Gift surprise!

                

I hope his day is filled with lots of FUN and Good wishes. He deserves the attention!  

I know he would rather NOT be on the Blog but his wife told me he reads it sometimes...
