Two Lonestars from the class at the Airport last Saturday. The left one is Lynn's in all BLUE. Mine is Leftovers from some of the Christmas fabrics I used in the kids quilts. I'm debating on whether to put another star in the 4 corner sections...

Yummy Lunch- Grandpa came home to eat with us, we had Mac n cheese, Tropical fruit Kool-aid, Pizza, Choc pudding and Brownies. Coy asked if he had a moustashe When he was eating his pudding cup. Here we are at the Pioneer Park- Does this picture say it all???? YEP, They love to come visit Walla Walla and go with Grandma or Grandpa to the park.

Tuesday & Thursday were Grandma Days! Tuesday- Spent up in Richland with NaDell and her children. I didn't take any pictures of Olivia refusing to do her Ballet... I didn't take pictures of me taking Elizabeth to school...I didn't take pictures of how cute Vincent was after he fell asleep on the floor while I finished NaDell's costume. I did take a picture of NaDell, but I'll let her post a better one, on HALLOWEEN... I stopped to take Coy his B-day gift- a bit late bit --ok with him, he's a good sport! Wednesday evening, I begged Milton to bring Coy & Trevor to me while he was at work. So... 6:30 in the morning Thursday---I'm awake and waiting for them to come. They rested a short while then we waited for the electrician to come inspect our Laundry room. The boys busied themselves between trips downstairs to see what he was doing to the wires. It was fun to have them come. They don't usually get to be here without everybody else, who don't let them play with stuff they want to play with. They learned to share with each other. I hope Christen and Lydia had a good day and didn't miss her boys too much....

Siggy squares & Utah friends

Here are two layouts for my Siggy squares from my online Quilt group WASIQ. I couldn't wait anymore to put them on the design wall at Lynn's. It took an evening of making some 'half- hatchet' blocks to finish the stretched star layout. I was in two 4-patch swaps so I have a bunch of those to border the siggy's. It won't be a huge quilt but a great reminder of the many friends I have through my quilting. Took a break from Christmas quilts... Friday- 62 days until Christmas...EEEKKKK that's a scary thought this Halloween season! My goal to have all 6 done by Halloween is not looking too promising. I have two completely done, one pinned- ready to free-motion quilt, one ready to pin and 2 ready to set into tops, then pin and quilt.

Scott and Ellen Bailey came to visit. They spent the night with us Tuesday, then on Wednesday morning we went to the Columbia River Temple. We met back when we lived in Umatilla over 20 years ago. It's great to have had the chance to show them around Walla Walla. I wanted to take them to the new THAI-Bon appetite, but they ran out of food so the owner was outside apologizing. We ate at Yammy Teriyaki, just up the road on the corner and played Mexican Train (Dominoes). We had made an appointment at the Temple at 9:15, but had to turn around at Lowden so had to change it to the 10:45 session. Since we had a few minutes we took these pictures. After the session they left to travel to Leavenworth- Ellen's sister Mary Lou lives there. Paul only had time to stop for a quick lunch at SONIC. Love the onion rings!!!

Ice cream- Primary

These children sang their little hearts out and earned ICE CREAM! Sister Stott put scoops on a paper Ice Cream Cone for each of the songs they needed to learn for the Primary Program.

Today our closing hymn in Church was "Called to Serve" and I looked around behind me and every Primary Child I saw was singing the song, which is in our Sacrament Meeting program next week. Some were even doing the motions Sister Stott has taught them. It made me tingle and I was so proud of all of them. I made them cookies after the practice yesterday. I know that Heavenly Father is proud of them too for singing praises to Him! I just had to Brag on them a little bit.

Utah!!!

I left Thursday for a "girls only" trip to Utah. Sylvia and Mignon went with me. The car was loaded with goodies for their children in Utah going to school. We had just enough room for us to sit - no room for anyone else. I put my things in the back seat, even took my sewing machine, all of the other stuff was in the trunk.

Ogden City Painted Horses- Ellen and I went to Ogden and were parked by this pretty horse. The Mayor walked by and we asked him why they were there. He said they were from the Pioneer Day and that they wanted them all removed before the Snow came.

Ellen found some Christmas fabric to learn to make the Dissappearing 9-Patch (D9P) I had fun showing her a few "quilty" tricks. We shopped all over Ogden, Layton, Roy & drove to Salt Lake Saturday to visit a Quilt Store I'd heard about online. Sunday Morning we woke up to SNOW!!! Big fluffy flakes all morning before Church. I enjoyed just observing Primary there. Ellen asked them if any of them had brought a 'friend' to Primary, then had me stand up. They sang the "hello" song to me with HOLA as Hello.

The trip home was an adventure as I contracted Pink Eye and my eyes were hurting. This morning, my eyelids were stuck shut. Thankfully I had Mignon and Sylvia with me so I didn't have to drive all the way home. I drove to Jerome where we stopped for lunch at the Sonic. I got some over-the-counter Eye drops. NaDell said they were available OTC... We gabbed all the way there and back. No radio- that was different for me, I always play my Country to keep me awake. Paul was glad to have me home, but I had to sleep in the guest room... Today I'm going to the Dr to get some good eye drops. I will miss my Guild mtg tonight, and I even had my Lotto block done. :(

P.S. I won the lotto Blocks in absentia! My quilt buddy came and took mine to the meeting for me. There were 7 plus the extra one I made for me in case I didn't win. She also brought me the 'giftie from my secret pal to cheer me up. Thanks Lynn!

Computer won't let me post a new blog so I had to add on to this one. Hope it saves. Tech guy says I need a new Network interface card...weird stuff!

Conference 10-3 & 4

Saturday Vincent and his sisters came to visit and watch Conference, NaDell & Andy too. We had fun between and after the sessions making parts of their Halloween costumes and found this outfit that fit Vincent. I left my camera upstairs during the Session. I didn't get any pictures of Olivia and Elizabeth, only a video that I can't upload. Sunday, we had Milton's Family here. It was crowded but fun. Silly Grandpa kept teasing the boys. They were trying to color while they listened. They put some of the colored pencils between Grandpa's toes. Yucky! Jared wanted to take a picture of his family. Trevor was a sleep upstairs... Here's Lydia in the ELMO chair. She was a happy girl. I got to rock her to sleep after dinner. Milton and Christen's Silly Boys with the Velcro game on their heads.

I listened to all of the sessions and learned that there will be 5 new Temples... about Living a Simplified Life... Faith...Missionary Work...Learning to Laugh... Angelic Visitors....getting on the Path and staying on it...Peaceable things...Be humble...One Heart... Christian Courage...We can do ALL things, through the Lord...Pioneers and Patriotism...Find Joy in the Journey- NOW...Take Pictures twice a year...In everything, Give thanks... Not all clouds give Rain... I took notes and Jared asked what I was writing. They are to remind me until I get my Ensign. I'm happy we could spend this time with some of the grandchildren. They are learning and growing. Their parents are to be commended for teaching them all they should do, by example. Grandpa and Grandma love all of you!!! Thanks for bringing Joy to our Journey this week-end!

Heartstrings & Christmas teaser

I made some Heartstrings blocks for an online group I read blogs from. I mistakenly made some that were 6.5" so those will be mine to keep and use for the guild. I made some on 10" so I can mail them off for the Block party. I made some Pretty Kitty Blocks for the Fall Swap also this week. Here's a little tease for the kids.... I've been working on several different Christmas quilts this week. I hope to have all 6 ready to be Quilted by the end of October. I'm looking forward to watching General Conference while I bind a couple of them. I'm making progress... slow but sure. In-between changing my ice pack and getting up and down to press blocks and check e-mails. 3 birthdays in October so I have to get their gifts made and sent or delivered... Happy birthday to Christen, Coy and Christopher!
