WOW - Wednesday - OMG on Repeat

It's a DeJaVu all over again.
Last year,on this very day, I finished this Quilt (flimsy) as my OMG.

Blogged about it HERE!
Started in 2014
It's time to get it finished!
I wonder is Kathy S nudging me to get it done?
She had us make "ReSEWlutions" back in 2014.
This was one of the quilts that didn't go in the tote when I was clearing Quilt Zone space.
It's Scrapilicious!!!
SO... It will be my OMG for March.
I will Link-up at the OMG Blog HERE!

But this one has to be Quilted First for the March Quilt Show.

It was also my UFO for the month. Linked up HERE
HURRAY!!!
It's finished and I can link-up HERE

I am glad I can, the link-up didn't have the Blue Box to click last night when I looked.
Thanks for leaving it open until the 28th, Patty!

It was a LONG, LONG night when I quilted theis one.
Betsy was good and uploaded my new Quilting Patterns from Anne Bright.
I used the Pattern "KaPOW"
No automatic alt text available.
I love a striped Binding and watching Olympics it got done quick!
It imitated the paint splotches in the Blue fabric.
No automatic alt text available.

The weather wasn't good for hanging it up so I took the picture on the grass.

You can get a close-up view at the Tri-Cities Quilt Show March 23-24, 2018
This Border fabric made a Great Finish,
I found it at QUILTMANIA in Richland.
It's ALL of the Olympic Colors too.

Label and hanging sleeve are done!

Linking up with Design Wall Monday HERE also.

My WASIQ Friend Kathy S

Yesterday we learned that our Dear Friend Kathy S had passed away.
Her Obituary is HERE
She was always a big instigator in the WASIQ List.
Helping with our Annual Swaps, that we stopped doing in 2011.
Suggesting Sew a longs and making Purple Food for our Purple Picnics.
She took walks on early mornings in Leavenworth.
She hiked Mt Rainier with her dear Husband Ranney.
They are reunited, I know she has missed him dearly.
I'm so glad I got up early and walked with her.
"Blackbird Lake"
She took great pictures and Blogged HERE

She had us Sewing into the New Year 2014
This is as many Blocks as I made and put it together, ready for the quilting.
The Blocks are similar to the Blocks in THIS QUILT, only scrappy.
Lynn and I designed it for our WWVQG Raffle in 2009
Then made our own versions, because it would look funny if one of the Guild Members WON.
The Pattern was Published in 2011

WOW - Wednesday - February is coming to a close

2 more of the 2017 Designer Mystery Blocks were sewn on Tuesday.
No automatic alt text available.    No automatic alt text available.
Block 8 designed by Edtya Sitar - Block 9 by Bonnie and Camille
So many pieces to keep straight.
Alphabitties to the rescue again!

They will be added to these blocks that were on my Design Wall.
Only 3 more Blocks to make and then the Finishing blocks in the Pattern I had to order.
I'm loving the fabrics in this quilt.
The plentiful leftovers will make the finishing Blocks, I hope.

The 2016 Guild Block Lotto Quilt for the Quilt Show will be going on the Quilt Frame today.
It's my OMG and UFO for the Month.

As soon as I find something to eat and get myself away from the Olympics Broadcast.
It's so addictive, sleeping is elusive as I would rather DVR it
& fast forward the commercials & ski jumping events.
I did watch some of them, but the Figure Skating is what I really enjoy!!
Oh my Goodness, the falls and mis-steps last night that pushed Team USA down farther in the
numbers and they are left with not much hope for a Medal.
Short Program was dominated by the Russian Athletes.
Are you watching?

He doesn't complain when he has to cook his own dinner.

It's Abraham Lincoln's Birthday!!

I stitched all day Saturday working on
my Spelling Bee Saturday blocks.
I made a total of 27!

That's about a full alphabet, wow.
I can cut out a Bunch while I watch the Olympics, I found.
Cut and Stack them between the pages of the Spelling Bee Book.
I want to do the Bake Sale SAL too, but there is no Time!!!

And The Tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Company called to me!
HERE is the Link.

Made from 10" Squares!
I cut my own and it was a fun set of Blocks to make.
Wouldn't it be cute on a Table for  Valentines!???

It's a Busy week, so I knew if I didn't put the Pedal to the Metal on Saturday
this wouldn't be ready to show at Guild tomorrow.
This is a sneak Peek!
Come back Wednesday to see the full project flimsy.
If I'm lucky, it might be Quilted.

Linking up HERE for Design Wall Monday.

This happenened on Sunday!

Our 10 year old Grandson who lives in Walla Walla performed at Cordiner Hall
with the Walla Walla Symphony and Wa-High Drumline.
"Orchestra Rocks"
He is a 5th Grader and what a priviledge it is to play at this famous Hall.
He got a little distracted.
I took the smaller pictures of him waiting to play.
He even got caught reading his book, lol
Many faces of Jackson...
Next year it will be "Orchestra Swings"
I am so glad to be able to watch the Grandchildren who live close when they are Performing.
It's the most fun part of being Grandma right now.
Even if it makes Grandma Tired...from Too much Fun!
Are you watching the Olympics???
I am trying to in my Spare time...

WOW - Wednesday February 7, 2018

OK - It's a Wednesday...
Time to look around and see where I am at on a few of my OTHER Projects.
I tried to not 'Start" a Lot of New Projects last year, too many to count, that were resisted.
I did start these 3 Projects in 2017
Pat Sloan 2017 BOM "Children's Library"
2017 Designer Mystery - Fat Quarter Shop
Lori Holt - Spelling Bee Saturday
Having the Portable Design Wall up is very Helpful!
When I find the Blocks and take time to get them up to see the colors - LOOK!
9 Blocks - Need the setting Square in a Square blocks/sashing

7 of the 12 Blocks DONE
Ordered the pattern for the Finishing, didn't know it wasn't included :(
I don't usually order Blocks of the Month online with Kits.
These kits had a LOT of extra Fabric.
YEA for FQS. (Fat Quarter Shop)
This is #9 on the 2018 UFO List

and lastly Lori got me started on this book when I saw the cute letters showing up on her Blog.
also found each Saturday on Fat Quarter Shop's Jolly Jabber Blog
 we are halfway there...
I see that I need to space out the BLUE Letters.
Or make a few extra in other colors... duh, I am already doing that.
Marking off the letters I have ready for the Grandchildren names Quilt.
This is # 8 on my UFO list HERE

I did start a few others, like the Garden Party and 2nd Midnight Flight at the Retreat with Bonnie.
AND the Mystery I just finished, it's a Flimsy HERE
I'm a Quiltville Groupie!

So far in 2018 I have started Just ONE NEW Block of the Month
Pat Sloan's "Let's Go Camping" BOM
I have one of the 2 Blocks done for this.
I shared it last week HERE
But I will be starting this one next month...

Eleanor Burns is Celebrating "40 Fabulous Years"
I saw this quilt at Road to CA...and online on her Facebook page and on YouTube Webinars
No automatic alt text available.
I know a few of my quilty friends will  be LOL - ing all over the place...
YES, There are LOG Cabins!
She used her Go Cutter to cut them, I will decide later IF I will make & use them.
The webinar's start in 8 DAYS on YouTube.
I watched her Webinar's last year and ordered the Patterns.
They were fun but no Big Projects came from them.
So Laugh all you want...

I started watching Eleanor when I was a Newlywed in Mesa on PBS.
The year was 1976-80...
My Boys asked me to turn the volume down... her voice was squeaky, they said.
They wanted to know who was picking up that fabric off the floor...???

I was a star-struck fan at EXPO when I met her in 2010.
She signed all the Books I dragged along. plus a Siggy Square.
I will NEVER forget seeing her come down the aisle in the Expo Tent pulling strips out of her sleeves.  That was her "Still Stripping after 25 years" Show.

How excited was I to see her last year at Road to CA!!!?
I missed seeing her this year by one DAY.

Today I got the email that my Pattern Book to go along with the Webinar is on it's way.
There's a Facebook Group just for this group too!
I'm just a little excited.
Easy to get me excited, huh??
My "Name Dropper" reputation is showing...
