OMG -progress report

Moth in the Window Blocks
have multiplied.
Not as many as I had hoped.

EDITED: My August OMG was
The Blue and Cream DWR.
Opps, I didn't work on it much, it was forgotten in the back of my car most of the month.

Lots of my time was spent
getting things all ready for Fair.
A Blue Ribbon sticker is on
Caleb's D9P Variation.
I didn't get a 2nd quilt bound in time to
 turn it in.
The Granddaughters will come to see their ribbons tomorrow.
I'll share those results next week.

Wow Wednesday- Vintage Goodness are Family Treasures

This past weekend we made a quick Roadtrip up to Grand Coulee.
Our family Photo Albums, that were missing, were found by my brothers widow.

These Vintage Quilts were ones that my Father had in his camper.
I remember the tied one.
I have a quilt with the same backing and yarn ties.
It is made of Wool squares.
The stitching on the binding looks familiar.
Made in 1974 or 1975 when Mom and Dad first got their Camper.

Backing

The Goldish one is Hand Quilted.
Maybe given to him on his way down to AZ that last time in 1979.

Did my Grandma make it??
 It's a mystery.
I love the scrappiness of it, and that layout!
Close-up of the Quilting

Today is my Brother's Birthday, he would have been 76.
I miss him!!
I know his sweetheart and daughters miss him even MORE.
They are in my Prayers today.

Design Wall Monday - MSQC

I enjoyed doing the Quilting on this Project.
It is a class coming up in October.
I had to take a picture of it hanging
 off the Loft railing at
Walla Walla Sew N Vac and Spas.
I have a multi-colored one started.
Linking up HERE

It will be a very different week of Fair!
I have a Winner in the Blog-O-Versary Giveaway!
Lucky Commenter #6  Shauna from Texas has been contacted.
Her package will be mailed today.

I'm grateful that DH could drive me to Grand Coulee on Saturday..
We drove passed the home I grew up in.
So different from the house, I remember.
The White Picket Fence & Roses are gone.
More about the Roadtrip on Wednesday's Post.

It's Friday -Before Fair

Whew!
I got all of the Grandchildren's entries delivered to the Fairgrounds.
A few long lines and a couple changes in Departments.
I entered only one Quilt.
It wasn't this one...
I had hopes it would be done in time.
Close but not soon enough.
Turn-in time ended at 7pm.
Maybe I'll enter it next year.
I collected the Siggies starting in 2008.
I started making the 4-patches at the 2015 Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days.
I love the Arkansas Crossroads layout.
On the pieced back is the Sign I made but never quilted for the Fair.
I couldn't find it last year at all.
When I found it this year,
I decided to put it on the back.
In a perfect world it would have been centered better.
So this is #7 to get Quilted since I finished my Row by Row  in July.
Betsy has been very good!!
In spite of not liking the So-Fine thread.

BLOG-O-VERSARY Winner will be chosen by Random Generator tonight.

WOW-WEDNESDAY -Still Un-stitching

Yes, I am still Un-stitching!
I love my Clover Seam ripper, but...
I thought this would be a quick finish.
Betsy, oh Betsy!!
She didnot like the So Fine thread.

These Table Runners are next to be quilted for the Game Night sample.

Tomorrow,  I turn in the entries for our Walla Walla Fair.
It will be weird to not spend this weekend setting up.
I'm just going to spend a little time, knitting with the Lacy Lacers.
I just can't stay away.
Trying to avoid the smoke, staying home.
I have grandchildren starting School today.
8 of the 21.
Wyoming and Zillah.
Have a great School Year!

Buried Treasure has Borders and is now
'On the Frame'
Started the quilting but my tension is off.
Eyelash stitches are showing on the back.
I skipped my Friday post.
Have you entered the Blog-O-Versary Giveaway HERE? ?
I was resting up for a fun night at the
Grant County Fair.
We met up with my Nephew and his family.
They had extra tickets for the Round up!!
Much better than the Demolition Derby we saw on our 1st Date 42 years ago.

WOW - Wednesday August 15, 2018

WOW-Wednesday is a little late today.
I had to make a quick trip to Tri-Cities to get paperwork signed for the Quilt Show entries.
Now that all of the Quilting is finished.
I left the Ransom Girls' quilts with them to tack down the Bindings and write on their labels.
We've been waiting for them to give the Quilts a Name.
Elizabeth calls hers
"Green and Grey Quilt"
 This is the Back
65x82
Tuscany Batting

Olivia named hers
"4-Patch Beauty"
 Here's the back of hers.
66x 68
Cotton with scrim batting
I always like seeing through the back for the quilting pattern.
Quilt design is "Beauty".

Lydia's still doesn't have a name.
Can you help her??

40x59
Warm and White batting
Lydia's Backing is a Flannel Polka Dot.

I turn them into to the Fair next week.
Last night I shared them at Quilt Guild.

3 girls, 3 quilts, all so different!

Design Wall Monday - Getting it Done

It has been a Great month so far!
'Betsy' and I have quilted a few projects.
Since it is so smokey outside and
DH (dear hubby) needed the car...
I finally got Elizabeth's Quilt Camp 2018  project off, the binding is sewn on.
I was on a Roll,  the Red Snappers made re- loading and Quilting the side borders, fast.
There was a bit of reverse stitching
 on the Corners.
(Note to self, take a picture of the quilting)
Next up was this Disappearing Pinwheel Baskets project I started back HERE.
I got these neat clamps from Grace Company. I had to try them out, lol.
Then I  thought that was a fun pattern.
I decided it was good for Lydia's Quilt.
The pattern is 'Alfresco'
Just one more Quilt to get finished for Fair.
Olivia's was loaded on Betsy late Saturday.
I'm not liking the quilting pattern much, so... I'm reverse  stitching again.
I need to find a better design, with not so much back-tracking.

WOW-WEDNESDAY -in no particular order...

My Quilter's ADD is in high gear!
Lots of Projects on my mind &
Design  Floor & Blog.

Yesterday's playtime in the Basement.
The Quilting Design was chosen.
It's almost to the bottom.
Time to turn it, to quilt the side Borders.
I'm using a Verigated Aurifil Thread.

Walla Walla Sew N Vac and Spas had the
Teacher's Meeting.
This quilt is from one of Jenny Doan's
Missouri Star Quilt Company Tutorials.
"Disappearing Pinwheel Baskets"
I  was channeling Eddie Walker, huh?
I was a little short on fabric for the Borders.
Do I un-sew and use another fabric or find an alternative piece??
I didn't see it at the store last night.
This will make a fun
Throw size or Table Topper.
Classes coming soon (September)

I'm really excited about this one.
I saw this at
Spring Quilt Market.
Let's play a game, bring a stack of
2-1/2" squares, Charms, or Jelly Roll strips.
I made mine with Fat Quarters I Won with my Row by Row.
I wanna make one with different colors.
SCRAPPY, Team colors, Holidays,
anything goes.
Watch your Social media and check your email from wwsnvandspas.com
Last but not least, I  found the missing
2 Splendid Sampler 2 Blocks.
Tomorrow block 9 will be posted.
I know, my Block 7 isn't done :(

Today is my BLOG-O-VERSARY!
Giveaway Post coming Friday.

Design Wall Monday -UFO

It's been a good weekend.
Last week was so Hot!
I'm still praying for the Firefighters working on containing the fires nearby.
My DSIL is one of them.

As for the Design Wall... well.
It is kinda blocked in so the floor has my
SPLENDID SAMPLER 2 blocks
(- the missing first 2)
I just use whatever fabric is close to my Cutting table to make these.

Judy L chose the August UFO.
It's not been out of the tote in a year.
Shirtings, some from Janet O -
plus a few from the laundry room.
I am not even halfway to the 64 listed in the Addicted to Scraps
 book by Quiltville Bonnie!

Week 44 has brought the
SPELLING BEE SATURDAY SAL to an end.
The question Mark and Semi-colon in scrappy Teals.
This project has to wait for my next
Retreat or Sew-in Day.

The Walla Walla Fair is coming up too fast!
I have Quiltin' to get done.
Linking up HERE for a Monday.

Friday - Link-up

I didn't get Block #7 finished,
I mis-labled this one, opps.
It is my #7 block.
No automatic alt text available.

In my cleaning, I have lost a few of my Splendid Sampler Blocks, uh oh!

Here's my Let's Go Camping Block for August,

Image may contain: stripes
It is Block #7
I love fussy cutting the camping type fabric from Tula Pink that I found.
July blocks were the setting blocks that I haven't made yet.
Friday Link-up is HERE with Pat Sloan.
Both of these projects are with her.
I have resisted quite a few of her Projects, I try hard to choose just the BOM.
Between the Quilting, I hope to get the Setting Blocks made so I'm ready to assemble this top.

Wow - Wednesday

It's the 1st day of the last Month of SUMMER!
I'm Blogging later since I spent last night away from it ALL at Cameo Heights Mansion.
Our children gave us a Gift Certificate for our Mother's and Father's Day.
Very Thoughtful!
Image may contain: 2 people, including Mary Brown Crowther, people smiling, text
There are no pictures of Grandpa and I in the Pool, I left my phone upstairs.
We only got our feet in after having our Smores.
Time stands still at the Mansion.  The hands on the clock are broken, on purpose.
We had our own parking spot.
I say it is as close as I will get to England this year.
The room was on the top.
We were happy to go and stay for a night.

DH had to be back to work early so our departure was before Breakfast and even the
Wake up service at our door.

Today it's back to the Quilt Zone...
The Binding was cut for the leftover backing-  it was - JUST ENOUGH!
Ready for our Roadtrip after the new grandbaby comes.

We went to have dinner with my Sister Monday night and I left my Purse.
Getting old is not fun!
I made the most of it though and took out the Blue and Cream DWR.
Checking to see if the borders I have planned will be enough.
This will be my OMG for August.
Border on to the Flimsy is a good goal!
Linking up HERE with Elm Street Quilts.

I know I'll be busy with the quilting of the Grandma's Quilt Camp project for the WWFair.
