June OMG/UFO Report

I sewed the Borders on my
Tula Pink 'City Sampler'.
I thought they were already sewn on, lol.
That's as far as I  got...
I know, I  got distracted by the Row by Row and didn't have time to quilt it.
Excuses, Excuses!
I still have time to finish it in time for the September Quilt Show.
Linking up HERE with my OMG, not all the way finished Goal.
Edited: Tonight the Link-up closed before I could link up.
 EDT time Zone got me.

Friday fun!

I am so glad I took the ride to Pomeroy, Tuesday morning!
Image may contain: text
This was a fun block to make.

I am waiting for the Mail, there are a few more patterns coming my way, I hope!

No automatic alt text available.

My version of the Walla Walla Sew n Vac & Spas.
I had to go and ask how to make the curved blocks.
I should have looked closer at my picture I took the 1st day.

The Foxy Boxy sized blocks are SEW Fast and FUN.
Except for the one that is Paper-Pieced, that one will take a little longer...
Putting them all together will be interesting for sure.
I have two more that are the long size.
The 9th Row is almost done.
Lots of machine stitching around the Birds & Notes.

I need to do the hand-stitching on my Splendid Sampler Block.
My Clam shells are not the right size and the embroidery floss is missing.

Yes I am distracted from my UFO/OMG.
 I just can't help myself.
There hasn't been a winner in my State yet.
I couldn't load my OMG,
I need to keep "Betsy" ready for the Row by Row Quilt.

Edited to add...
HOBBY LOBBY Opened today in Walla Walla!!
I had to get up earlier than normal and meet my sister there.
She did wait for me to go in.  Found her in the fabric section, lol!
I didn't buy any fabric! Whew!!!

WOW-WEDNESDAY - Row by Row still

I'm still working on the
Collected Row by Row patterns
I have chosen for my 2018 Quilt.
I LOVE the 18 " 'Foxy Boxy" ones.
DH  (dear hubby) got this one for me.
I left the 'not' off because I Love Music!!
 Grandma's Sewing Room with my
Black and white Music fabrics.
I needed to add the strip to the top row.
Fussy-cutting the Pianosame made
Swiss cheese of that FQ.
And this one...
had me cussin', hating Fusible!
I  just could figure out why I kept getting it wrong.
I used my widow to trace reverse images.
But the Biggest piece was still wrong.
Lots of fused fabrics were harmed in the making of this block.

I finally made the Roadtrip to pick up the
Block from Pomeroy.
I  took a picture but it was fuzzy.
I had about 4 places to be Tuesday.
I am glad I chose to go and get this Block.
It's going to fit in nicely with my
Other B&W blocks!!
I have enough now to finish,  if I can just stay home and sew.
18 Years ago, I  became a Grandma!
Seems like yesterday.
Happy Birthday to Jared!!

Design Wall Monday - Row by Row, Etc

On my Design Floor , lol
3 of 8 rows ready for the Machine Applique stitches. Maybe Blanket stitches by hand.
I had to go back to get the kit for the Background fabric for the STASH Row.
The 9th Row is on top. It needs two mini quilts to add after the quilting.
I asked DH what color to make the Heart from Janean's that my Sister picked up.
My block is reversed from the layout,
but this Treble Clef looks more like an 'S'.
I don't think I like using fusible...
I opened the FQS pack I Won.
Gonna make some fun blocks!
I need 2 more patterns.
Waiting for the Mail...
Elizabeth decided to Not do the Row by Row with me. I'm ok with that.

There's already a posted Winner out in NC.
My calendar of events prohibits me from
Finishing so fast.

Here are the Numbers for
Spelling Bee Saturday.
I did a bit of Un-Stitching on them.
Quilters headache= No fun!

Block 2 of Splendid Sampler 2
'Milk and Cookies'
I finished this one while waiting to go out and get my Row by Row patterns.

Free Friday

I'm calling this day
'FREE FRIDAY'
I am home alone, my car is with the
 DH/dear hubby.

I got a few Rows for the 2018
"Sew Musical" RxR quilt.
I started at Walla Walla Sew N Vac.
They open earlier than the other shops.
They have kits from the past years.
Fun to see them all together.
They have a Jr Row kitted up, too.

Next was STASH
I love their row!!

Then I went out to Thread and Bolts.
Lynn & Mary Ellen in the NEW shirts!
The 9th Row is on the left above them.
There is 2 kits ready.
A 3-D and the regular flat version.
She will even cut out your birds and notes.
Take your fused fabric out to use her
ACCUQUILT cutter.
Lynn and her crew (not all pictured)
have been really busy!!
2 versions of her
"Wind Beneath My Wings" Row.
And last but not least...
They have 6 Jr Rows all kitted-up.
Isn't this quilt cute?!!
Shameless plug here...
You can buy all 6 for $35.
Each kit is regularly $6.95.
So, it's like getting 1 almost FREE!

Lastly, I went to Alpine Cottage Quilting.
This cute Row is all pieced!!
The notes are of a song about Walla Walla.
I haven’t figured out which one yet.
Which ROW will I sew first?

Grandma's Sewing Room wasn't open at noon, so I will have to get that Row later.
I had a few other Rows collected for me.
A little less driving for me the 1st day.
Thanks to my family and friends.
I will stitch, today and maybe go on a Roadtrip tomorrow or Monday.
Happy 2nd Day of Summer!

WOW-Wednesday - Splendid Sampler 2

I just can't resist a scrappy Block!
The 1st Block was introduced last Thursday.
It was designed by Alex of Aurifil fame.
My oldest granddaughter is here helping Grandpa with Cub Scout Day Camp.
I got to Quilt/play with her in my scraps after dinner and a Baseball game.
She made the 1st Block also.
She is 15!

I just realized last night that  she
can't do the Row by Row Jr.
It's for ages 6-14.

The 1st 20 Splendid Sampler blocks will be shared on Thursdays with a link to the pattern.
After that the Block reference will be from the New Splendid Sampler 2 Book.
This Sew-Along is hosted by
Pat Sloan & Jane Davidson.
I collected patterns a bought the book for
The 1st Splendid Sampler.
I didn't make the blocks as they were shared. :(

I signed up for the Splendid Sampler HERE
You can too!!!

Design Wall Monday Again Mid-June

I missed my DWM posting last week.
I posted on a Thursday instead.
I will make this one a Quick post.
Headed out to Quilt Guild this AM.
This DWR is on my Design floor.
I need a few more and the 'Ripper' to come out so the outside blocks match the center.

Still working on a pieced backing for my Tula Pink UFO and OMG!

AND 2018 'Sew Musical' RxR starts 6-21-18!!

Here are last Saturday,  Spelling Bee Blocks.
The numbers aren't going into the quilt.

Eleanor's Fabulous 40 Year's Blocks
From last week's Webinar.
I forgot that sewing with a directional background is tricky...
Measure twice,  cut twice on that
fussy-cut center.
This one was a bit of a challenge too.
Quartersquare triangles with
Directional Fabrics, will I ever learn??

Back to Blogging - Retreat Report

I'm  Back, did you miss me??
It's been a long week away...
I was at our Walla Walla Quilt Guild Retreat
Last weekend so I chose to have a
Social Media Fast.
I sewed from early morning to late night.
That made not looking at Facebook and Instagram easier.
I got a LOT of Flimsies ready for Quilting.

& a few  more blocks for my QAL & SAL's.
I made the 6" & 12" Typewriter blocks.
Those keys are Tiny squares!!

Most of this week has been spent
 Car Shopping.
We finally got a  Replacement for my Civic.

It took more time and $$$$
We hope this one lasts longer than 2.5 years

Wow- Wednesday

All I  can say is WOW!!

Yesterday took a BIG detour.
I had a plan, it changed quick.
Sad to say 'Bambi' didn't have
a good day either...

No Quilting happened in the Quilting Zone.
I am stiff and sore.
But, I am so thankful the Airbags didn't Not deploy, and we can fix/replace the car.
This car has seen many miles!
We are waiting to hear the verdict.
We it be totalled??
Stay tuned .
Thanks for the calls, tesxts, and visits from my children.
I did get to watch Jackson play in his last Baseball game.
Congrats to Grocery Outlet Team!!

Monday, I did do some stitching.
Lots of scrappiness.
Tiny seams for the small
'Comfort Quilt' blocks.

I forgot to post my
SPELLING BEE SATURDAY
Number Blocks.

Hoping for a much better day today.
Rental car in the works.
I have places to go!!

I  am sorry I haven't been receiving email from Blogger comments.
Thanks for comments anyway.
I can still read them, but it takes longer.
Ug, Computer troubles...too.

This was my OMG for May.
Now it is the June UFO

I need to figure out a backing and get this one quilted.
It's huge!

A Proud Grandma moment happened last night.

My oldest Son ordained his youngest Son.
These 4 Brothers have grown up so fast.
To this Grandma they are still these cute boys.
