Design Wall Monday/ NewFO - end of June report

My NewFO for June was starting "Market Day" HERE 

 Part 10 - more Pinwheels -was revealed last week and next week is the Big REVEAL!

June Goals

1- Complete 4 LUS Blocks -2 DONE

2- Make Globetrotting Block - DONE

3- Make 8 A-Z BOM blocks -not Done

4- Quilt Guild Block -DONE

 Pennsylvania Block for July, Old Maid's Puzzles for June Lotto

I bought her pattern after her Trunk Show

I found some Lori Holt Fabric on the way home Saturday at 

The Gathering Place in Rupert, Idaho

I filled a bag of scraps there too.

 I found this Grab Bag in St George Utah.

 This package was waiting for me when I got home. 

I WON it on Facebook and sent my Address to Schenck's from my phone.

Small Town Quilt Show -Midway Utah

The final stop on our Utah trip was the Small Town Quilt Show in Midway, Utah

I first got to Meet Lori and Introduce her for her class.

The first night there was a Meet and Greet time and the winning Quilts were announced.

My neice lives in Heber. After many texts we made arrangements and she picked me up 

so we could have a visit and Lunch on Friday.

I added the Trunk Show by the Crazy Old Ladies - Emily Herrick

Deonn Stott of Quiltscapes showed us how to make the Origami Hexies for the Lamb quilt on the 

May/June Quiltmaker Magazine cover.

She used the purple hexie I chose to demo for Hexigami,  the link shows the steps to make it.

I got their Quick Curve Ruler after watching the DEMO.

There was a challenge to Instagram a 'selfie'.

I don't have that on my phone but I took a selfie anyway.

Before leaving I took pictures of the Pond and the Carosel

 All of it was so wonderful and I am going to be on a HIGH for weeks after meeting all the ladies whose blogs I follow or have visited.  I met Amy Ellis Amy's Creative Side  but didn't get to take a pic with her. :(

It was great to have so many of them in the same place where I could meet them and get a few more

Many Miles & Wonderful Memories! (Pictures overload)

Last Week- Saturday, June 21st we left on a long anticipated V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N!

I took many more pictures than will be shared on the Blog.

Where to start...

We drove first through Oregon and Idaho to get to Logan, Utah.

The Quilt Shoppe I had wanted to visit was still open when we got there.

I didn't find the Neutral Fabric I was seeking, but came home with a "Maxine" Panel.

 Paul's Cousin, LaDean lives nearby in Mendon, Utah.

We stayed at her lovely home and attended Church with them.
Their Bishop grew up in Pasco Stake- it's a Small world.
Paul attended a Stake Priesthood Mtg where his Cousin, President Clark spoke and presided.

 Her sister's family came to visit with us in the afternoon.

AND... my Blogging friend- Janet O took time to come and see me!!!

 She brought me this cute Mini hanger with a basket on it.

 Monday before leaving we snapped a couple pictures with the Thorne's.

We drove south to see my Brother and Sister-by-Love who are serving a Mission in Utah.

They live in their 5th wheel and spend 6 days a week giving tours at the Fort.

Next stop- Cove Fort

Then it was on to St George, Utah

1st stop there was Superior Threads

 We stayed with our #3 Sons' in-laws.
Tuesday morning we got up early to attend the Temple.
It is so Beautiful inside!!
This was the first operating Temple that the Latter-Day Saints built in Utah.

It was fun to see our shared Grandchildren there and spend time showing them the Temple and Visitor Ctr.

B & T went with us to see the Jacob Hamblin Home.

I loved seeing it with a few of our Grandchildren

Wednesday we started back driving North after a stop at the In & Out for Lunch.
Cheeseburgers "animal style" and fresh cut Fries!

We got a Hotel and stayed in Nephi after going to the Cemetery in Fountain Green
We found the road on our way to Manti.

This was a Highlight of the trip!  

We haven't been here together since Paul's Brother was married one wintry day in December 1979.

As a Bonus we were able to see the Mormon Miracle Pageant.
The Performers visited the waiting audience and I was able to take a few pictures.
(as requested- no flash cameras allowed during the Pageant)

 Words cannot express the feelings I have after being here to see the Pageant.

I am "blessed" to have been in Utah this past week to have these experiences & spend time with Paul.
