WOW Wednesday - 1st Day of the 2017 Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days

Well, What I'll be Working on the rest of this week is...
Watching the Quilts at the Fair & All the People walking by in the Pavilion.

It's my 5th and FINAL Year
This is where I will be found most of the time.
See that White table?  On the other side is my Sewing Table- waiting for my Sewing machine
This is the PVC Rack my DH; Paul made to display the smaller Quilts
There were so many we had to go and put in another 32" to hold more.
I still needed to use my other Quilt Racks.
These will have to hold you over until I add pictures of the Winning Quilts.

2013 - I sewed my Pickle Dish Blocks
cut-off bonus triangles and squared them to 1 1/2"
2014 - I worked on a demo-ed a Tutorial from Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company
& made enough blocks for two Little Buckaroo Quilts.
2015 - was the year of 4-Patch I made 147 of them with help from the fair-goers
2016 year I did a Bed-Turning and sewed the 4-Patches with Siggy Blocks.

The THEME for 2017
"Honor the Past - Look to the Future"
I've tried to think of something new and different to do---
Build a Block is what I've decided to try.
I'm taking my Go Baby Accuquilt to cut the squares.
I will have the Fair-Goers choose squares to make 9-Patch Blocks for a Local Charity.
I will sew them between the other stitches.
I have a Border to attach and some Tula Pink Blocks that need sashing, too.

Have a Great WEDNESDAY!
I'll be at a Concert Tonight with Josh Turner and Ned Ledoux, who will start out the night.

I'm very GRATEFUL for all who have Volunteered to help me this year.

Design Wall Monday - August 28, 2017

Way Back in February I started this Quilt.
I hoped to finish it way sooner.
I used the Temecula Hearts Pattern idea and made these blocks 6" finished.
It's all  froma Layer Cake
I have sewn the Blocks together and am auditioning Borders.
Pictures are being weird on my computers again.

I need a Quilt to send to Trends this week.
Maybe I can Quilt this one for the Guild Block of the Month last year.
I have a few other Finishes that could Work if I don't.
I need to work on my Quilt Challenge for the Festival too.
That one will have No Pictures until mid-September.
Deadline to register Quilts is September 1st.

What's on your Design Wall or QuiltingTable?

Friday- Pre-Fair

The Quilts are ready for the Judging.
This morning we get to see all of them stretched out.
I don’t unfold them as we receive them.
I am excited to see them.
There are fewer than last year.

I had my DH make me a lower rack for the smaller quilts from PVC poles.
I hope the display is good.
I'll post more pictures next Wednesday for the 1st day of the
Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days 2017.
Two celebrations of Birthdays on Saturday.
I hope with all of my extra help, We can be mostly DONE with the setup by 3pm.

Design Wall Monday - August 21, 2017

On the Quilting table this past week was my Granddaughter's
Spring Break Quilt.
I loaded it while the family was busy one day.
She asked for Deco Feathers pattern by Crystal Smythe.
I used a Tuscany Batting and verigated gray King Tut thread.
I needed to get it Finished for the Fair turn in Day this Thursday.
 Last Pass across the quilt.

Monday we had lots of Children and Grandchildren come to visit.
Grandpa put the Chicken from Albertson's on the grill with some BBQ sauce.
We had Corn on thc Cob and salads to go with it.

Here is Grandpa with the Grandchildren who came to take the tour of the Helicopter and Plane
Uncle Jes flies on with Life Flight.

The 4 Middle Chidren were together for the Tour.

Tuesday afternoon and evening we were at Joe & Kori's

Thursday after Pictures in Pioneer Park and the Aquatic Center we ate at the Goodson's
Uncle Jes flipped the Burgers and hot dogs for us.
He has experience from the Iceburg Drive in.

Grandma found to presents wrapped in the Linen closet.
Who knows how long they were there???
I changed the Linen and Quilt Closets around to fit more Quilts.
The Grandchildren were happy to open them to see what was inside.
More toy cars and a board game to play.
Jackson guessed corectly that there was cars and a board game.

It's Eclipse Day and I have Quilt Guild that I may not go to.
If I did, then I'd miss seeing the Eclipse.
Not much to show until after the Fair on the Design Wall.

Now that my Row by Row is finished, I can get back to some UFO"s.
If you missed reading that post it is HERE
I have plenty!
The UFO for this month has not been touched as of yet.
It sure would be nice to get this one to Flimsy!!!
So it goes up for the Design Wall Posting today.
Linking up HERE with Small Quilts

I'm sharing the Picture of the Book I got the pattern from to show the Border I still need to sew.
Maybe the Goal for the month should be to just get the pieces cut out.

This is another UFO that surfaced in my cleaning this past week.
It's a Jelly Roll Challenge that didn't get finished and turned into Sew n Vac in time.
It's not quilt as Old but it shouldn't be hard to get it assembled into a Flimsy, right?

I posted my Blog-O-Versary Giveaway on Friday HERE

WOW - Wednesday - BIG TA DA- Row by Row Reveal

The long awaited day has come...
I finally got my 2017 Row by Row "On the Go" finished.
I quilted it on Monday after adding the final Borders.
This is where DH found me after he came home from work.

 almost the final pass...

Paul helped take pictures outside before the Binding and embellishments went on.

I turned it in at "Stash" downtown Walla Walla.
We had to take it outside for this Picture
Even then we couldn't fit it all in the picture.
16 Rows + one Jr Row

My 25 Fat Quarter Prize
I need to take it back downtown tomorrow to show the Owner & fill out the Paperwork
After I got home I got Buttons to put on the Train and I cut out a Sewing Machine shape for it.
I showed it at Quilt Guild and got lots of comments.
I found out there is only one more Local Shop that doesn't have a winner yet.
WHEW, I made it just in time!
Here is how it looks NOW!
Rows are from all over and I appreciated the ones sent to me from Idaho, Utah and Tennesee.
Left Vertical rows: The Fabric Patch - Ephrata WA and Old Hotel Gallery - Othello WA
Left Diagonal Rows: Jr Row - Arrows, Leavenworth Quilt Co - Leavenworth WA,  Ratherbe's - Pomeroy WA,  Quiltworks - Bend OR, Thread and Bolts- Walla Walla WA,
Amelia's Quilt Shop - Kennewick WA
Right Diagonal Rows: Jr Row - Arrows, Janean's  Bernina - Pasco WA, Quiltmania - Richland WA
The Sewing Basket - Prosser WA, Stitches n Stuff - Powell TN, Stash - Walla Walla WA
Center Bottom rows: My Girfriends Quilt Shop Logan UT,
9th Row - Thread and Bolts Walla Walla WA
Right Vertical Rows: Discount Sew n Vac Kennewick WA, Daydreams Quilt & Sew Idaho Falls ID

Note: The row from Pomeroy is supposed to face East.
Mine didn't get traced in the reverse so I made it go UPhill.
I used my Embroidery Machine for many of the Rows.
There is a LOT of stitching around the fusible.
I was asked which was my Favorite Row, that's hard because each one has a story.

These are the plates I have collected.

This is my OMG for August and it is Finished!
I'll add the link when it goes up later.

Design Wall Monday - in the Works

I sewed as long as the Bobbins held out.
Then I refilled them.
Saturday I "Air Stitched" Way too Long.
Image may contain: one or more people and text
Played the Bobbin game with my Facebook Guild Ladies.
I had to measure how far and it was 5 1/2 yards worth.
Can you say 'not paying attention'??

I got 2 of the Dash Dot Dash Borders on the sides.
Roads going all around the edges.
This fabric will be the final Border.
Hope I have enough...
Gotta pull an all-nighter to get it quilted in time for Quilt Guild.

Boggling Borders.

It's a Mind- Boggling Borders Day.

I got all 15 of the Rows put together and I need to add some kind of Border.

I am trying to decide on them.
I really dislike doing Blob-o-borders.
I have the idea to sew the strips together before adding to the quilt.
It's big enough but I think the borders will finish it.
Then I need to choose a Cornerstone, choices choices.
This Row by Row has me on the fence.
I really wanted to have it finished this week.
Again Life has gotten in the way.

I bought the row fabric that was offered hoping to use it as the Border.
It doesn't work with this print, IMHO.
I can use it on the back, lol.
Wish me Luck!

Quilt Guild is next Tuesday, can I hope for a finish to share??
The weekend plans are fit for staying inside with all the smoke in the air.
Wishing everyone a Quilty Weekend.

WOW Wednesday- OMG & UFO for August

What I'm Working on hasn't changed...
The Design Floor looks a little better, just about 12 more long seams, LOL
And then it will be ready to Quilt.

I needed a Short Row so the Train pattern from Janet O won out.
From My Girlfriend's Quilt Shop.
It needs some embellishments after Quilting.
Maybe Wheels & Sewing Machine Button and a RR Sign.

I am waiting to show it on here after I turn it in for a good reason.
The TADA is Coming - REALLY!

It's my OMG again.
