Ironic? YES!

When my Mail came and had this copy of QUILTMAKER...
I thought --How Ironic!
I picked up the Scottie Dog fabrics from Athena when I won my Prize from the Row by Row.
I played with EQ7 and came up with my version of a Scottie Dog.
It's not the same, but very close.
I need to tweak my version a little more.  The pieces are  pretty tiny.
How fun.
Great Minds think alike.
I know this issue has been in the works, probably more than a few months.
Lots of Fall quilts and projects in this issue.
Pick it up on your news stand if you aren't a subscriber.
Bonnie's Giving a copy away HERE
along with a few other Goodies!

I started some "Secret Sewing" in preparation for Quilt Cam.
Not my usual colors, huh?
I saw about 4 of the 8 minutes before the sound went out.

Still cutting Hourglass units to stitch.
It's another BUSY weekend for us.
Check back Monday to see which of my Goals will carry through to August
And what I choose for my OMG.

WOW Working with 4-H

I missed the 1st day of Advanced 4-H Quilt Camp
The 2nd day went pretty well.
I help the same girl as last year.
She had another helper Monday and Today because I have other things on my Calendar.

Here are her blocks laid out.

Her rows got all sewn and she will add the cross-sashing and start the quilting while I am gone.
The pattern came from Missouri Star Quilting tutorial HERE
Of course it makes me think of making one for myself or for the next grandbaby...

This one was made as a sample. Like an I-Spy!
Funny thing is I went expecting a whole different quilt.
HERE's the link I looked at mistakenly.
for "Diamond Squared"
It reminded me of Bonnie Hunter's "Weed Wacker" pattern HERE.

Meanwhile, a few stitches are happening Between when I play with the Grandsons.
Wait until you see the Ironic thing I have to show you on Friday!

Design Wall Monday - July 25, 2016

My week ended with some Stitching between Baseball games and our Pioneer BBQ.
More tiny Temecula Blocks are on the Wall.

I thought I was caught up, then I looked at the rest of the blocks from late June that I hadn't done.
I still have 4 more sets of 2 to sew.
Finished HST's at 1 1/2" are so tiny!
I always have to check twice to make sure my Friendship Star is going right, LOL

My hope of getting a Quilt on "Betsy" didn't materialize.

I did sew a few more of the Guild Lotto Blocks.
Last week I had 3 more to go HERE.

I sewed them and looked again, only to find 1 more that needs different fabrics.
These Blues and Yellows just scream out, "Look at Me"

I have enjoyed re-making these Lotto Blocks with a constant set of fabrics.
The Alphabet background, Red American Brand, Yellow Shadow Play,
Blue with dots and splotches, and Toyko Green.
I'll add the extra blocks to the stack for Guild Charity quilts.

My Block count for July is growing!
I got a few Leader/ Ender Blocks sewn between the stitches too.
I'm cutting these from 2 1/2" strips so they are 4 1/2" now.
Love that Companion angle!

I'll save posting the final Picture when this quilt is in the Fair or Quilt Show.
My Judge might see the Picture...

It's a Flimsy counting Friday!

It's Friday and "Betsy" is Lonely!
I have many Quilts that need some "Betsy" time.
I don't know why it's so hard to decide which one comes next.
This one just needs that Final Pieced Border
Judy L loves making Borders and this one will be one well worth the time.
Big Star from 2009

This one has been in the works since 2007
Made from Leftover strips from my very 1st Lone Star.

 Farmer's Wife
A Flimsy since taking the class using Marti Michell's Templates in 2012

The Romance Continues or NOT!
This one is still waiting for the quilting -
2013 Marti Michell BOM

Globetrotting BOM - Pat Sloan  2014

Started at Block Party 2013 - Debbie Caffery
I'd like to add another border to this before quilting.
Choosing which fabric is the big Question.
I don't have any more of the dark Purple.

When Downton Abbey was still airing on Sunday evenings, (sigh)
I made this with Love Bug Studios
It was just last year - 2015

Made in Chicago with Debbie Caffery 2015

This one was two + years in the making of just the Blocks

And the latest Mystery from Bonnie Hunter
Allietare'

I have so many more in various stages.
These are 10 that are just sitting in a Tote, backing included with most.

Jo over at the Country Junction HERE
She's getting an early START on her Bonnie Hunter UFO's.
Not waiting for the next Mystery in November.
Bonnie has a New Book coming out in September and a New Essential Tool (ruler) to go with it.
That's incentive to get some of these other projects out of the TBQ  right???
One of these will be my OMG Goal for August!

The Fair is Coming up soon and I need something to enter.
150 Years we are Celebrating!

WOW - Wednesday 2016 Quiltville Leader/Ender

Bonnie of Quiltville Fame has announced the 2016 Leader/Ender HERE.
Hourglass units from scraps.
I started cutting the scraps I got at the 2 Guild meetings this month.
Other peoples scraps are always more fun to Cut!
There were some strips just right for cutting a set of Quarter Square Triangles.
I hope to not have duplicates in this, we shall see.
This panel was one of my winning Bids in the Treasure sale
 "Domestic Diva"

The month is over half gone.
Goals are going pretty well.  I just wish my Mojo was better.
The heat is making me want to just sit around under my fan.

Adding to my Goals are some Community Service Blocks for Tri_city Guild next month.
This will be an Interesting quilt.
Each HST block will have the sashing on 2 sides so assembly will go fast.

Dear Daughter #2 went for some Training in Spokane this week.
She took some time at her Lunch to find a couple more row patterns & a license Plate for me.
I found the Purple shirt and sweety Onion at our local Chamber of Comerce.
My Friend Brandy and I can be Twins at our Retreat, LOL
My Tiara is coming.
What are you working on?

Design Wall/Floor Monday- Blocks July 18, 2016

I went to a Quilt Guild Sew-in on Saturday.
I got this Block made first.
It's my July Block for "My Secret Garden"
I sewed next to Brady P.  She calls this her "Tiara Time"
I gotta get me a Tiara...lol
Pics borrowed from Jessica M.

Here's my set of 7 Blocks
I used the 'wrong' background fabric and the Striped Blue is kind of light. Oh well...
I need to make the Block one- Bonus block and I'll be caught up.
These 16" BIG Blocks are a Lot of Fun to make.

I started sewing a set of the Lotto Blocks for myself at the Leavenworth Retreat.
I had to make a quick trip home from the Sew-in to get my YELLOW.
Then I could cut out a few more Guild Lotto Blocks and sew them.

I need to sew 3 more and make a Sampler from them.
Sashing will help a LOT.
Now to just get the DEMO Board samples cut and I'll be more ready when
Guild comes around the rest of the year.
EQ doesn't provide the Instructions so it's extra good reason to make my Samples early.
My Block count this month should be pretty good.

Today is Quilt Guild in Tri-Cities.
Have a great day in Blogland

Row by Row Quilt - Ta DA!

I waited all day for the Owner of Highland Quilts to get to the Shop
so I could go and turn in my Quilt.
Just look at that stack of Fat Quarters.
I'll go back and spend the Gift Certificate later.

The owner let me bring it home so I can show it on Monday to the ladies at Tri-Cities Quilt Guild.
She wants to put it in her Window for the rest of the Row by Row time.

My rows are From:
Keepsake Quilting- Bothell, Wa, Quiltmania-Richland,Wa, Kissed Quilts-Grand Coulee,Wa, Thread and Bolts-Walla Walla, Wa, Stylish Fabrics & Quilts-Logan, Ut, Highland Quilts-Athena,Or, Yesteryear Quilting-Waterville,Wa, Janean's Bernina-Pasco, & The 9th Row from Thread and Bolts.

I decided to just get it done with the 9 rows I had.
I liked using the Licence Plate fabric and the "roads" sashing to divide the rows.
There is room to add two more rows on the sides if I had taken the time to do that.
I traveled a LOT of Roads to get my many Rows.

If/ When I make a 2nd quilt I will add the extra rows.
Here is how it looked before I changed it to the final layout.
She noticed I forgot to add the Green on the bottom of her Row, OPPS!

The Final Outside Picture (before binding).

The Backing
Maywood Simpatico Dot
"Home Tweet Home" Panto
This panto was meant for the Row by Row quilt this year.
I found it on my memory stick and added it to "Betsy's"  files.
Only 5 hours of steady quilting  & an evening of stitching the Binding and Hanging Sleeve down.
Done in 3 weeks  & a Day from when the Row by Row Started.
I noticed that the past 2 years I turned in my Quilts on July 31st.

I'm early this year.
Hurrah!

Now it's back to my regular UFO's and BOM's and BOW's.
Oh and that Beach Quilt.
Have a great Weekend.

WOW-Wednesday July 13, 2016

Quilt Guild was on Tuesday.
The Block chosen for next month is-
"Clown's Choice".
I had to do an easy block.
Too much time needed to get my Row by Row Finished!
There's 2 ways to cut and make the Hourglass Blocks for this one.
I gave them a choice of the square cut twice diagonally or
using a strip and the Companion Angle Ruler.
The July Meeting is our Potluck and Treasure Sale.
I came home with just a few items. Spent less than $10.
A Good night!

Edited: I have to add that, after this Blog entry posted,
I have added the final Borders, made the backing, found the best Batting and I am
READY to Quilt my Row by Row!
Come back Friday or Monday to see more of it and my Goodies I get when I turn it in!!!

Design Wall Monday - July 11, 2016

My Row by Row is on the Design Wall/Floor this week.
I have 9 rows, lots of Finishing ideas in my head.
Here are the 9 Rows in no particular order.
 Highland Quilts - Athena Or
Will add the buttons on the Apple Tree after Quilting
 Keepsake Quilting - Bothell Wa
Needs some embellishing after Quilting.
Melissa D brought me the pattern for this Row at the Leavenworth Retreat - THANKS!
 Janean's Bernina - Pasco Wa
Button is pinned on for picture
 Quiltmania - Richland Wa

Yesteryear Quilting - Waterville Wa
That elusive 9TH Row - Found at Thread and Bolts Walla Walla Wa  YEA!
The pattern calls for two appliqued Flowers on the ends.
Those might not happen.
It was fun to dig in my 3 1/2" squares tote for the outside border.

I have 3 Vertical Rows so far, I think I need one more.

Kissed Quilts - Grand Coulee Wa, Stylish Fabrics & Quilts - Logan UT,  Thread and Bolts -WW Wa
The Quilt over the chair in the Kissed Quilts row will come off, then stitched in place after quilting.
The row in the Center is My FAVORITE of all I have made.
The writing above the Bird says, "Home is Where You CACHE Your Stash.
Many Thanks to Janet O for sending it to me from Utah.
I saw this plate on her Blog, she's sew nice she sent me one.
I had fun in my STASH finding the "bolts" for the lady to carry.
Of course she is wearing PURPLE in my Row.

My #2 Daughter by Love likes the Camper Row.
A Special Request for their new Camper/RV

My little helper will be needing to watch some Paw Patrol while I sew this week, LOL
I have a self-induced Deadline on this quilt.
No winners YET in Walla Walla or Athena Shops.
Gotta get my Quilt in the running for the Prizes!

Quilt Guild is Tuesday, my Lotto Block is made and Copies of the pattern are ready to share.

July Goals - OMG

My Row by Row is my OMG for July!!!
Because this quilt has a Deadline it has to be my Focus for July!

I spent a lot of time collecting rows and just haven't gotten it worked on as bad as I wanted to.
Every day I see more and more Winning Quilts on Facebook HERE

I have 26 rows so far and a couple more I want.
The local Shops haven't had winners yet and that is good.
I want to put their rows in my Row by Row Quilt.
As of Monday I had done this much.
Now I have made a couple more rows and need to choose which ones to use to finish.
Then I can get it quilted.
I have a great idea for my quilt and hope it comes out as I see it in my head.
Thankfully the 9th Row is now at a Local Shop Thread and Bolts.
I'll be picking it up tomorrow.
This is a late night post because I saw the last day to Link-up for OMG is tonight.
