WOW-WEDNESDAY!

What am I Working on today?

Scrap day at Powered by Fabric!
Eddie upsized a fun Pattern she found for us.

We could dig through the scrap bins as long as we used what we took while we sewed today.
Free Fabric to go even more scrappy!
Here's a piece I found to use.

Eddie was using 30s prints.
Mine were purple,  of course.
Found some fun neutrals for the solid squares.

I'll have to order the book on Amazon,
if I can't find it at JoAnn Fabric.

More pictures from Monday and Tuesday.
My Yellow Roses and Mary's Peonies.

Mary Withers and Big Brother Paul.

Selfie with Brenda and her 2 Aunt Mary's

Paul, Anne and Brenda

At my Parents graveside in Moses Lake.
Lots of Roses, Iris and Peonies.
The small flag I got from a worker at Rite Aid.
There weren’t any ordered this year, but he
had one in the office that he gave me.

Tuesday evening was a night to honor our Grandaughter and 5 of her Ward graduates.
What will the family miss??
What are her future plans?
Teaching Piano and Violyn,
then a Church Mission next year.

Olivia is ready to be a "Grown- up" Adult!
She has an August Birthday.
I loved seeing one of her Grandma Camp Quilts.

Flags are flying!
I love our Patriotic home.

It's a day for remembering! All who have lived and died for our Freedoms. The legacy our parents instilled in our hearts! Take time to rememember and honor their lives well lived today and everyday.

Any day at the Temple is a Good Day!
We were going to be in town anyway, Why Not??

So great to attend Olivia's final High School  orchestra concert.

The Seniors wore these 😎 cool sashes!
Proud of all her talents!

Happy Fri-Yay!

After we got home and changed last night we went to get Plants to fill the Planters.
Top pot is Lillies, then 2 Diplodenias.
Yellow Pots have Coleus and Petunias.

In the front Flower bed empty space I planted a Hosta to stay!
Petunia and Coleus are annual, so I have to buy them every year.

Coleus, Petunia and a trailing plant I forget the name of.

I found an Over the Rail Planter.
I wanted some Sweet Potato Vine to go over the edge of the porch.
Petunias to fill in and put a little color in the planter.

On the stitching front...
More Dealer Designer Exclusives. (DDE)
Sister Bennett loved this one in the Orem Store.

I bought the kits so I could make her one.
This one was a Practice.

Making a Drawstring Pouch in the Hoop was a little tricky.
Thank Heavens for YouTube.
Loved the blue Leather on this Butterfly.

WOW-Wednesday "Chillhowie"

Tuesday was a Sew Day at Eddie's Powered By Fabric.
I worked on making more of the Big Blocks for my Quiltville Mystery.

SEW Many tiny pieces and parts in each block.
I should make 4 more so I use all the parts I've made.
Today I'll work on the sashing parts.

The goal is to have this one done in time for the next Quilt Show.
I could even send it to Garden of Quilts.
It is probably too late for Sisters Quilt Show.
Yep, TODAY is the Deadline for that.
I just checked. The entry fee is $25
It's isn't done so I can't measure it... or take a picture of the flimsy.

It  will be my Summer Quilt.
Rhododendron Trail is too heavy for the Warm Nights.

My yard is all a-Bloom!

Our Quilt Guild in Walla Walla is having Marie Bostwick come in August.
I have all her books, I think they are already signed.
Excited for May 30 Release of Esme Cahill Fails Spectacularly!
It's on pre-order.

Happy Wednesday!
What are you working on?

Mother's Day 2023

Janessa and her boys brought Mother's Day gifts on
Saturday.

Fun garden picks, a sign and book in
a bag that is reusable.

A photo with those growing boys.
Jackson is taller than both of us.

NaDell gave me this bag of Chocolate Friday night

We handed out the Utah Truffles after
Young Singles Adults Sacrament meeting.

Today I went to Tri-Cities for Quilt Guild
Stopped by Joe's office and received the gift he got for me in Seattle.

Can a Mom get too much Chocolate??
I'll have to ration it and make it last.
Paul doesn't complain when I share.

We had a Scrappers lesson on
Community Service Quilts by Marion

Pretty Iris by the parking lot.

I made another of the Bonus designs
from the fresh and Local Bella Box

I enjoyed the day in town.
Tuesday is my day to stitch!

Super Saturday- Balloons inflation time - Early riser

The balloons got inflated this morning but not launched.
We'll have to watch again
in the morning to see if they go up.
The early risers get to see the Balloons.
A panoramic view from the field at Tieton Park.
The Walla Walla Balloon Stampede started in 1974, I read this week.
So almost 50 years!
I counted 16 Hot Air Balloons before we left the park this morning.
No lift offs because it was windy up high
when they sent up a test Balloon.
Nap Time for Grandpa.

We missed the Night Glow last night while we were watching
the Ransom 3 with Forte, Amplify and Bravo Performances.
The theme was ""Stand by Me"

Photo Proof - we were there!
See the photo bomber, lol

Balloons inflated.

What a View!
I tried to get a Panoramic photo.
Which is your favorite!??

Lucky Number 15 is hanging at Walla Walla Sew Vac & Spas this week
3 yard Challenge.
I didn't use a 3- Yard Pattern.
The top border was left off, I ran out of the Yellow fabric.
Borders on three sides and smaller Sashing than Miriam's Quilt.
The Navy fabric had barely enough for the Binding.
The Blue and Yellow are "provincial" don't you think??
Love the secondary patterns that shows.
I made this one in just a couple of days. Pieced Quilted and Bound!

May for Me- delayed

My usual May begins with
MAY FOR ME!!

I have these Great Grandsons who still don't have a
Great-Grandma Mary Quilt.

Liam's is all Bound now!
I had a lot of Me time last week.
Hubby indulged me by taking the
 long way to Wyoming.

He went to his favorite store and got me these
Pretty Petunias

I enjoyed the time I spent with Sister Bennett.
This picture hangs above her sewing machine.
See the child under the Quilt?
Oh, the Memory floods my mind.

This also hangs there above where she sews.

Here she is driving us to My Girlfriend's Quilt Shoppe  in Orem!
She is a Miracle to me!!

Too many photos yesterday.
This was my Snowball tree when we got home.
The Dogwoods in full bloom behind,
across the street.

It's also WOW-WEDNESDAY!
What are you working on?
This is under my needle for a challenge.

More "Time Flies" blocks
For the 3 Yard Challenge at Sew Vac & Spas.
Classic Navy and Yellow.
Thanks MSQC for a fun project.
I loved making Miriam Grace Crowther's
Quilt with the Tutorial.
Had to do it again.

What a Wonderful Week! Pictures galore...

Twin Falls Temple
We left early Tuesday and drove to our Hotel in Twin Falls.
We thought it was in Jerome.
It was still daylight so we took a quick nap and
went for the 7pm Session.

I love getting Selfies at the Temple!

Thursdays Drive took us to Utah.
A stop at the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum is always necessary.
I bought myself Captain and President Pins.

Beautiful stained glass in one of the rooms.
I always try to see my 3rd Great Grandma's Quilt.
I got up real close this time.

Then we finally got to President and Sister Bennett's home.
This Quilt I made her was in the room where we slept.

Here we are at the Marriott Center.
BYU Women's Conference
I loved being at BYU Women's Conference with her.
We went shopping in the morning and attended the Conference in the Afternoon.
I wore my new Pinstripe Dress
I bought at Sweet Salt.
It reminds me of our FM Shirts.

NATHAN PACHECO
His voice is a soothing to my heart,
so clear and easy to listen to

All of the Evening of Entertainers
Bonner Family, Simply Three, Truman Brothers, Nathan and
a sister who was a Missionary in Sweden in 2020.
She performed her first composed song.

So many women filled the Marriott Center flashing their phones.
Just from one side.
There were just as many on the other side of us.

Leaving the house I had to take some memory photos.
The book on the left was made by Elder Cain who took lots of pictures.
The photo on the front makes me cry.
It is of President and Sister Bennett at the door of the Kanesville Tabernacle.
Taken just before the demolition started last April.
He titled the photo " I know the Door"
The photo over the couch was replaced in the Trail Center
with a wall sized Mural of Winter Quarters.
The original is in the Winter Quarters Temple on the 2nd Floor.

The Guys!
They worked together outside Wednesday spraying weeds and trimming bushes.
And a bit of visiting while we fixed dinner.
I'm so glad we could make the detour.
It's been almost 2 years since we left Omaha.

Friday after Breakfast we headed up to Etna by way of Provo Canyon.
Here's Grandpa Paul's first time holding #23

Paul said Look up on the hill...
There were elk walking down.
There was still snow but we were warm inside the loving home of Brant and Tina.

Friday night was a Concert back in Afton at the Star Valley High School.
The Sinc-o-pation group and the choirs sang a variety of show tunes.
Lots of Costume changes.
Christophers choir sang "Chim, Chim, Cheree" dressed as Chiminey Sheeps
with paper plate props.
Calebs choir sang "Kids" dressed as old folks, lol
"What's the matter with kids today?"

We woke up Saturday and Sunday Morning to Deer outside the windows of the Basement.
Just peeking in like they live there.

Pictures at Christopher's Star Valley Soccer Game vs Riverton. they WON!

Put a quilt on the floor to take pictures of the baby and look what happens.
Sisters love to have their pictures taken.

She is dwarfed by the size of the quilt. The Label on the right.

Caleb brought out his well-worn baby Quilt that I made when he was born.
Oh, My Goodness, No wonder he needed a new one... it was loved to tatters.

Derek found his baby Quilt to show me.
His favorite was a Fleece one his
Grandma Teresa gave him. It has been replaced
by another fleece one. He carried around with him, all the time.

2 Big Sisters found their Quilts I made for them.
So glad they love the Quilts!

Blessing Day Photos with Grandma Mary
and on her Quilt, wearing her Mom's Blessing Dress.

Anna asked to hold the baby. Grandma had to take a picture.
Miriam Grace Crowther is a sweetheart- Loved by the whole family!
What a blessing that we could be there and spend the time with family.
