WOW-WEDNESDAY - February Snow days cont.

"If it weren't for the last minute, not much would get done!"
I stitched up my February blocks for
Quilter's Planner BOM
Using 'stashed' fat Quarters for it.
I love scrappy quilts.

Here's the Mini Quilt I mailed to Janet O.
17"square
Hand pieced, Machine quilted
Started in January 2019
Finished February 2019
Made from my collection of Men's shirts.
A few that have been shared from Janet O.
Below are a few of the layouts tested on my 18" Design board.
The 'Honeycomb' Paper Pieces were perfect for a Swap quilt going to Utah.
It's called the Beehive State.
I thought a Beehive layout would be nice.
But the Zigzag won out.
If you look closely a few 'blooms' show.
Not as easy to see as Hexie flowers.
EPP or English Paper Piecing reminds me of my English Grandmother.
Tomorrow is
Grandma 'Flossie' Brown's birthday.
I don't have many pictures of her.
She died the year before I came along.
She came to America to marry my Grandpa.
Grandpa served his Mission in England.
He met her there, and they wrote letters after he returned to Utah.
Her family disowned her for joining
Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints.
My Middle name is the same as hers.
I was named for both of my Grandmas.

Not Moving much Monday!

I've put off my Blog long enough
I know the linky's have changed
Not doing them now.
The Snow hasn't stopped much since late Saturday night.
Compacted, piled up and covering everything.
The best little surprised that I found in my Mailbox after our Temple day...
My Swap Mini from Janet Olsen.
She's the Best!
I couldn't resist trying on the Socks.

I have decided I need lessons -Mini making.
My mini was just under the size of my
18"design board.
She should receive it Tuesday.
Then I can share it here.

Stay warm if you're surrounded like me.

Friday Fun Day

I found another way to cut up my pinwheels with Jenny!
Missouri Star Quilt Company Tutorial is HERE
I already made the Disappearing Pinwheel Baskets quilt, lol

My SWAP Package is ready to take to the Post Office today.
I missed the Mail yesterday.
Mine will be here SOON, I'm a little excited.
Pictures later!
The little quilt had to get a picture in the snow.  No snow overnight. YEA!
Just frost on the windows.

What are you doing for FUN today?
One more week in February.
Here comes the windy Month of March!
My Butterfly Quilt isn't Quilted but I need to get it down to the Store.

WOW-WEDNESDAY - What oh Wake-up

I woke up to the falling Snow again.
Can't measure old snow.
I really am tired of this White Stuff!
I think I have only been out driving 2 days.

I have been handstitching, and need to rest.
My hands are getting older.
I feel it when I do this.

So guess what else is on my mind.
I think I have made a decision.
I ripped out the Brown corners.
Found some more Trees.
And a lighter green for the first Border.
What do you think Brant & Tina???
We have about a month left.
Moving in day coming soon!

I leave this here, back to the SWAP Mini!
Almost done, Janet O.

Design Wall Monday - More Tiny Hst's

There were a few more Tiny Hst's to stitch. Last week I sewed these up.
They are only 4 1/2"
I don't know what they will become just yet.
Possibly with some borders, I can add them to this block.
The Moda Love Block.

I have decided on an alternate plan for the Borders on the Star Valley Stars quilt.
The Reveal of that flimsy should come soon.

It's another Snow day, I will miss going to the Tri-Cities Quilt Guild today.
I have a Swap mini to finish.

WOW-Wednesday What do I work on when...

It's a Wednesday in Walla Walla.
Quilt Guild was cancelled so I could play.
I worked on a couple short term projects.
You know those ones we call SQUIRRELS???
No photo description available.
These cute Bonus triangles were just waiting to become something.
They needed to be pressed, trimmed, sorted, then sewn
Moda had a Free Pattern for this using a mini Charm Pack or a 5" Charm pack.
EDIT: Oops, I forgot this picture,
sorry to keep you in suspense!

It measures 8 1/2" so, not a very Big project.
Worked up quick and used up some scraps.
A Win Win!!
This is a Class Sample I started at the last SEW-IN I went to.

I shared the beginings HERE
I am ever Thankful for my Alphabitties and Wonder clips.
Now to get it Quilted so it can go up at
Walla Walla Sew Vac & Spas.
I know a few ladies already have the 10 degree wedge ruler already.
Thanks for the Challenge Tara!
Pattern can be downloaded from HERE

Good Fortune - Final Link-up

This is the link-up HERE
I've been waiting to share the picture I took
Last week in our newly fallen snow.
We have a Lot more now!
I think the quilt shows up best
In the Snow.
The 'Hang it Dang It" makes it easier for my helper to hold up my Quilts.
I bought it after it was shown on on the
40 Fabulous Years BOM  Block party.
Eleanor Burns shared it.
Finished, Quilted, Labeled and Hanging Sleeve attached!
Its been a fun ride, Quiltville!

With my Midnight Flight on the bed, I realized that the Stars formed by Four blocks are close to the same Block in Good Fortune with an HST in the 4 corners instead of the 4-patch.
The 1st Border echos the top and bottom row of the stars.
Inspiration comes from all places.
HST'S seen on Tom Green's shirt.
Lol, I had to take a picture!

Linking up with Design Wall Monday too HERE

Frozen Friday - Warm under my quilts

The sun came out yesterday and I had to get out of the basement!
After trying to scrape the windows, prying the wipers off,  I just turned up the Defrost and waited. BRRRŔ
I needed to go visit the Quilt shop!
Consulting by Messages with Tina.
Light or Dark?
As they cut the dark, message comes back.
Light, lol
I got both, I am a softie for a great stripe.

I tried to see how to add the Borders
I had some extra strips of this fun fabric.
Not sure if I like either one.
Maybe a different color between.
I  can change the corners.
Time to pick it up off the floor.
3 more Bindings are Done.
I have a cramp in my thumb, the one that holds the edge while I stitch :(
I have a Few other things that I am
thinking on.
My Binding class isn't happening,  bummer.
Gotta finish stuff for another class.
And there's a Quilt Show Challenge and a Swap mini to finish,  haha
My Quilter's ADD is showing!
We're watching and waiting for the next dumping of the White Stuff.
The only thing that I go out for is a Photo op  of my Mystery Quilts.
I?might be Snow bound for the Weekend.
Have a Warm one wherever you are.
I will add a 3rd Quilt to the bed, if needed.

DH is walking around this, stepping lightly.
I changed directions on the side Tree Borders.
 Today's #qpprompt
#wip
Franken trees on the bottom corner.
Ran out of background... oh no!
Looking forward something similar.

Our Sweet 16 girl!
I'very been saving pictures for her Collage.
I love seeing her as a 'Brunette'!

When there's snow, it means photo op
For last year's On Ringo Lake Mystery.
I finished this one in March.
Just in time for its showing at
Tri-Cities Quilt Show.
Bindings while TV watching
Walla Walla is in late Winter freeze!
 2 or 3 Quilt weather.
I'very got it covered, lol

Design Wall Monday - is AWOL

I haven't done a real Design Wall Monday  and linked up much this year.
This is the Forecast.
It calls for a Sew-Day!
But it's a Joe -Day.
Our 2nd Son turns the Big 4-0!
To his mom he's still my little boy, playing anything that requires a BALL!
His sweet wife had a Surprise party for him on Friday at Batter's Box.
Yummy cake and Ice cream cake.
Hard to get a good picture through the netting.
We are so proud of him, he works hard to keep his family playing.
As for me, I have more bindings to do.
We agreed to $.12 per inch.
She said she could keep me busy.
When I delivered the 6 to her, she had 3
 more, ready to go.

As I type, the light snow is falling outside.
A light border has been added to the Stars quilt, it's ready to add the Tree border.
I need to add Trunks to each Tree first.
Pictures on Wednesday.

Finally February -Bye January

January was a good month.
I kinda celebrated my B-day all month.
Lots of Family Events, Priesthood Ordinations,  Baptism, Airplane ride,
Food Poisoning,  lost voice, Temple service,
Meetings,  new friends, Lunch dates.
The list could go on and on...
My #7 UFO  barely made an appearance.
Edited to add: February UFO is #10
"Moth in the Window"

On Instagram,  lol.
I  hope to do better in February.
The "Good Fortune" Mystery was talking louder to NOT go into the UFO pile.
I'll save that Final picture for the
Quiltville Link-up on Monday.
On the final day of the month,
I got to sew on my favorite Purple Bernina.
Fresh from the 'Spa' week.
It takes longer when the main Belt is bad.
It had be replaced along with a spring on the Bobbin winder.
I made some Trees!
I  decided that the EQ8 pattern looked like
PEAKY and SPIKE!
So that is what I chose to use.
NO Paper Piecing if I can help it!
This Block is the Center for
QUILTER'S PLANNER Sew-Along on IG.
I mistakenly made a Block from the Planner, thinking it was the right one
for the SAL.
This block will go somewhere in the quilt.
