Mystery Friday... My Fri-Yay

We had a great Thanksgiving!
I was still laying low from being ill the past month.
3 of our 6 Families came, plus a friend.
Good Food, Family and Fun.
Ransom's came early and NaDell helped get the gravy made after she made her stuffing.
Only to find her father had turned the oven off when he took the Turkey out.
We only had a bit of Potatoes and gravy left.
That was so close.

We decided on setting up two tables in the Living Room and have 4 Boys in the Kitchen.
Paul has been busy clearing space so we could do it.
Most of my Big pans are downstairs now.
We did take pictures of people until after it was time for some to go.
Andy's friend, Nathan took them for us.

I didn't sleep much last night.
I woke up just to read the first clue.
The rest of the day I prepped for the Wedding cake I'm making for tomorrow.
Buttercream Frosting ready to make roses.
And whiteish to Frost the Cakes in the freezer right now.
It's been awhile since I have Decorated!

I got my Indigo Shadow Play and Solid from MSQC and pre-washed it.
See the Color catchers.

"Indigo Way Mystery"
Clue one so far HST's with the Indigo and Neutral.

It's Saturday now!
I can finish before the next Clue.
No More Coughing!!!

Wow-Wednesday

What am I Working on??
Well, since DH is subbing at the Temple and left me home to my own devises...
Testing, testing the FREE Snowflake pattern
from MeTime last year.
Hmmmm, each one takes 42 minutes.
Nope not making them this year x 30.

Last night's Walla Walla Valley Quilt Guild meeting
This was the Block Lotto.
It's supposed to be a Card trick Block... oops
I didn't look closely at the pattern.
Came home a fixed the extra one I left there.
Much better.
Made with strip sets.
Easy, Peasy!

Back to today's stitchfest.
Take 2  - 4"x4" Snowflake
Only 30 minutes.
Maybe...

It's been awhile since I have played on my
Bernina  B700 Embroidery Machine.
Gotta hoop up some wash-away stabilizer.
Meanwhile a few on a Hot Pink Fat Quarter.

Whacha working on??

Monday 11-13-23

Chilhowie Mystery needs a border.
What do you think of this?
If not a border, maybe binding??

I'm late posting because it was
Daughters of Utah Pioneers Day

We had a nice lunch served at Wheatland Village.
Thanks to Joanne.

Not much else to post about.
It rained!

Flimsy Fri-Yay! Veterans Day 2023

It was a Guild Sew-in morning!
I only had the morning to play.
I got the borders on my 4-Patch Trip Quilt.
Now for the Quilting.

In honor of Veterans Day
My daddy served in the Civil Conservation Corps.
He enlisted in the Army but got
 deferred for flat feet.

My Father-by Love joined when he was 18.
He drove a truck in World War 2
He didn't talk about it much when his children were growing up.
The Grandchildren asked a few questions
and he did tell them some stories.

Our youngest Son chose to join the Army after being in High School ROTC.
This picture is taken at his Basic Training Graduation  at Leavenworth, Kansas.
He served several tours to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba at the Prison.
He said he couldn't tell me stories.

I am so proud to have these Patriotic
men in our family.

Wow-Wednesday

I forgot to Blog the 10 Lori  Holt
10 inch blocks all together

In the wee hours I  was making # 11

Sew this is finally a Flimsy!
All done with the Seam ripper.
It needs a border.
What color should it be?

Final borders went on! YEA!!
Only the first one had to be then off cause
I put it on wrong.
I want it bigger, do I add a Purple Border?

I joined the MGQS Christmas Club
The Zoom last night was fun.
I sewed along.
It will be a Pillow after I quilt the top.

My Thanksgiving Cactus is a couple weeks early.
Pretty blooms again.

Whatcha Working on???

Monday, Monday

 Is Monday over yet?
I woke up later than I  planned.
Got downtown to Powered by Fabric at noon.
I was in need of getting out of the house.
I saw a turned Block when I  laid the finished
Center of this 4-patch Trip.
(upper left side)

Fixed  after having to rip it, rip it!
Then I saw a block that got switched in the
 process of assembly.
More rip it, rip it to do.

Glad I took my Borders to sew for Chilhowie.
Top and bottom sewn and pressed.
Ready to sew on later.
Saturday we didn't stay home, so
 no stitching that day.

I also cut out some pencil borders for the Purple Quiltmaker 40th Jubilee Quilt.
I have 166 Hsts to make first.

Three quilts almost ready to quilt!
November work on Christmas might slow the Quilting down for now.

Happy Fri-Yay! One Day More...

I'm singing the song...not really my voice is
 still gone.
Les Mis on my YouTube.

One last laying out of the Blocks.
It might be rearranged some more.

Rows all sewn and checking the sashing placement.
No way to avoid those tiny squares from
being in a row.
I am pinning a LOT!
I couldn't stop when I was this close.
It amazes me how the tiny Sashing pieces all fit together in Bonnie Hunter Patterns.
All sewn with 1st Pieced, finishing border.
One more pieced border to go on.
Bonnie says, "You've already made the parts!"
Part 2 of  each of the Quiltville Mysteries
 has been the border frequently.

Will it need another Border after the last one?
I think it might to make it fit.
And a small border would help in attaching it to Betsy, the 18x8 Viking for the 'Frosting'
So close to covering the pillows.

I have loved all of my Bonnie Hunter Quilts!
This one might be another favorite 😍
My Purple tote is still over flowing.

This one should have help put a dent in it.
The Quiltmaker Ruby Jubilee Quilt from last year.
It still has 3 more pieced borders to add.
I just finished adding the 1st inner border.
Never too much PURPLE for me.

Wow-Wednesday

 It's  Novem-burrrr!
I didn't get my Chilhowie Mystery finished
But, I  did finish all the Blocks!!
I kinda just Love it!!!
Sashings are cut, ready to stitch the pieced parts.
I had to move it to let my Family Trick or Treaters in to visit.
Our Walla Walla family!
I had to ask what they were dressed as.
Daughter is Patti Mayonnaise, Hubby is Quailman.
We did Not Dress-up this year!

The Quiltville Mystery Season is Here!!
Go over to The Quiltville Blog to see!
Here's my first fabric pull.
The nearest Lowe's didn't have the
 Indigo paint card.
I have dark Navy that will work.
Fairy Frost in all the colors to give it Sparkle!
I have cleared a tote to store it in.
I have the Rulers!!
Introduction is printed!
I forgot to buy more Paper!
Thank goodness for my Stash of
Printer paper with holes on the side.
So, I can stitch up the rest of the parts and
maybe finish Chilhowie this month.
Wait and watch this space...
