Party in the Park

We celebrated with Jackson today at Wildwood Park. This G-ma made 2 cakes and a pan of Vegan Brownes. The tires on the Firetruck were Chocolate frosting. He went for the tires first! Jackson is 1 year old.
10 of our 12 grandchildren were there. I didn't get a cousin picture,
we were a little busy with all the fun Jes and Janessa had planned.
The kids always love the Pinata with CANDY CANDY CANDY!

After the party in the park we played with the grandkids while Joe and Kori went out for their 7th Anniversary. Milton and Christen also left to go for their 'Date night'. They grow so fast I have to take advantage of all the Kodak Moments I can.

Fun-Stuff Memories Here's how to do it- 1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! 2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you!

Walla Walla Fair 08

I entered my stuff in the fair and was there early to see what color my ribbons were. Sorry to say I got mostly reds this year. I think because I didn't do all-over quilting on the quilts.
First thing was the Ribbon cutting for the
renovated Fair Pavilion.
Wendy and her Sister-in-law Sherri went with me.
Last thing I did was attend the Chris Cagle and Tracy Lawrence concerts with Paul. Paul asked if they could turn the volume down... He's really not a fan of banging music, but goes along with me. He didn't make us leave in the middle this time.

Wake up call

I have been staying up watching the Olympics! Go USA!!!! My husband asks me every night if they go until 2 am. Every day after, I need a nap! I have quilted two of my UFO's (Un-finished Projects) and thought I had more time to get my Fair projects done. UGGGGGGGGG They have got to be turned in today! My quilt buddy gave me the bad news when I went to my quilting day on Tuesday. I made a few things, the Blue and green NMRR (No Mail Round Robin) was made in time for the Tri-city quilt show, but have many that I signed up to get done that will have to be in next year. I've had a bit of fun using my Bernina and free-motion quilting on these UFO's. The Walla Walla Quilt festival is coming up fast also. I have until September to complete a project for it. Onward and upward...

Remember...

So, 32 years ago My DH was just a guy I was dating. I've been thinking about that long ago time. Life was much simpler. We were less worried about the future, living in the moment. I think of how fast we became friends and then engaged within 17 days. We think about going to the Grant County fair and the Benton-Franklin County fair. Long rides between Moses Lake and Mesa. It's good to REMEMBER! I should post a picture of how we looked way back then. The kids would laugh. I'll have to find a good one, our engagement pictures were taken in black and white. I taught the children in Primary today to--- REMEMBER. The best we can do to help us keep the Commandments, is to remember them. They had a lot of interesting responses and I rewarded them with "smarties".

A REAL Blast from the Past

Here I am at 2 yrs old
At 10 years with a page boy/Pixie haircut
and 'friendship' ring on my finger.
At age 16. this was my actual b-day. I had short hair again.
My mother made and decorated my cake with Holly hobbie.
My shirt was what they called a Poorboy and I probably was wearing my 1st pair of 501 LEVI'S.
I had to look at these after finding pictures for my girls yesterday.
Now you know why I don't cut my pictures in ovals and circles as much.

Up way too late...

I have always been a 'nightowl'. My mom called me that. But playing with this Blog kept me up way too late last night. I was listening to the Olympics sort of too! Had to give up and watch the last of the Men's Gynastics. It's heck getting "old", I'll have to take a Nap today. No pictures today...

A Blast from the Past
20 years ago - I was 31, We lived in Umatilla,Oregon. This picture is taken on my b-day.
10 years ago - I was 41. I was collecting Beanie Babies. I woke Jeff and Janessa up to go with me to stand in line at the Pasco Hallmark. We lived in Burbank, Washington
5 years ago - I was 46. I had 3 grand children. Here's a picture of me with my 2 grandsons and 1 grand-daughter. We still lived in Burbank, Washington
3 years ago - I was 48. I had moved to Walla Walla, Washington. We had no kids at home. :( We made many trips to Tri-cities to visit the Children and Grandchildren. We had almost 6 grandchildren.
1 year ago - I was the BIG 5-0 and decided I wanted to go to Sister's for the Outdoor Quilt Show.
I rode a bus from Richland with 40+ ladies of like-mindedness. I met some of ladies I e-mail with on my WASIQ Online Quilt Guild. I was no longer working at the Hancock's, not through my own doing. They closed!
We made a Road trip back to meet Jeff's wife in Kansas. Andy, NaDell, Brant & Tina flew and we went to some Church History sites. We had only 7 grandchildren, we now have 12 going on lucky 13.

Yesterday- I made a RW &B D9P (Disappearing 9-patch) and baked a Chocolate ganache birthday cake for Janice and Sylvia. The Luncheon was today at Wendy Turner's. See Picture. Aren't we cute?
