Design Wall Monday - end of July

The end of July makes me a bit Sad.
August is always busy and then School starts and the holidays aren't far away.

Elizabeth's Creation is on the Quilt Table.

I couldn't decide how to quilt those fun borders she designed.
They deserve more than a E2E Panto.
A phone call to consult was needed.
Thanks for her patience.
I really want her quilt to be a
'WOW, that's Amazing,
I can't believe she did it.'

I also did some re-arranging, the Quilt Zone
really needed it!
The neighbors are re-doing their old house and pulled out all the old cupboards.

I saw this one standing on end and thought...
That would work in the basement to help keep my fabric bolts stored better.
DH (dear hubby) switched the hinges and waited for me to make room to fit it in.
A 120" tape measure helped me to double check, the height.
Just barely missed needed to cut some off.
And it didn't cover the Outlet or vent to the H2O shut off.
Good news!
I'm slowly getting my day started.

There are Monday Blogs to surf HERE.

WOW-Wednesday - Fair Entries

It's a day for spending time in the
Quilt Zone.
Fair Entries need to get the Quilting done.
The deadline for paperwork is next week.
I finally got the Red Snappers
attached to the rails.
Whew that was a job!
I  hope that the time savings is true.
Elizabeth chose the Gray for her backing...that goes on first.

I thought I had a better picture of
 her and her quilt top.
Oh well, I'll just wait till it's done.
What are you working on ??

Design Wall Monday -A Finish

Betsy was pretty good this week.
Only a bit of a hiccup when I tried to leave the Quilt Machine on overnight.
I got a fun new pattern to quilt on this
D9P VARIATION.
Hurray!!
1 more quilt on the Finish pile.
I had hoped to get the 3 Quilts
made at Grandma Quilt Camp  done, too.
There's always this week, right?
Less meetings = more quilt time.
Linking up to Small Quilts and Doll Quilts HERE.

Tomorrow is Pioneer Day!!
I wore my Pioneer dress with a new to me Tatted collar I found at Love of Junk.

I wish I could have gone to Utah to Celebrate!
This is my Tribute to the Faithful who made the long Trek to The Utah Valley in 1847.

Design Wall Monday - Grandma's Quilt Camp -results

I missed Blogging Friday.
We were pedal to the metal getting 3 quilts tops to the Flimsy stage.
They made it in time for late afternoon photos in Pioneer Park .
The Gazebo is perfect for the Group pic of their creations.

When grandpa came home we took a picture on our porch.
It's my favorite !
Can you see the smiling Grandma?

I love the Creativity of all the Granddaughters!
They started with 4-patches this year.
Mostly designed on my EQ.

First Finish went to Elizabeth.
Her 4-patches were bigger so her main challenge was the designing of the Border.

Her Math and Drafting skills were helpful!!

Next is Olivia's
 Simplified 4-Patch Trip.
Her Sister called it an 'old lady quilt'.

10 yr old Lydia's 1st quilt.
She came with an idea, picture on her Kindle. We added in the 4-patches & flower.

What a week of Memories and Fun Breaks!
More Pictures on my Facebook and Instagram feeds
This week grandma will try to get them all quilted.
What designs will be chosen??

I had most of Saturday to recouperate & clean.
I got my Row by Row Quilted and bound.
Just a little too late to get it turned in.
I'll share it at Tri-Cities Quilt Guild then turn it in.
I will Blog about it more on Wednesday.

WOW-WEDNESDAY Grandma's Quilt Camp 2018

We had some Quilty fun Monday evening and Tuesday.
4-Patches in a few different sizes are being sewn by all of us, even Grandma!
Lydia is here for her 1st time.
3 Granddaughters, stitching,  laughing, eating,  listening to "The Greatest Showman" CD & having some quality Cousin/Grandma/Grandpa time.
Lydia & Olivia sewed and turned in a 'Piano' Jr Row at Thread and Bolts.
They got Ribbons, Certificates and got to choose fabrics from Lynn's scrap bin.
We all took a break to attend the Potluck at Walla Walla Quilt Guild.
At the end of Day 2 the Design Wall was being used by Elizabeth and later by Olivia.
Lydia went to bed happy to see some parts of her 1st Quilt on a 2nd Design Wall
aka: flannel backed tablecloth.
They woke up early and the stitching. Walking back and forth from the
Design walls is happening.
Elizabeth has her Quilt center finished & is drafting and cutting her border pieces.
(No pictures until tops are done)

Side note: Grandma's Row by Row is ready for Quilting.
Reveal to come asap.

Design Wall Monday - Row by Row Sneak Peek

I worked on my Row by Row on Saturday.
It wasn't hard once I figured out that almost all of the Rows/Blocks are divisible by 18".
Here is my Sneak Peek!
The top picture on the left is the Filler Block I needed.
There was a Lot of Stitching down fusible on Friday.
I used my Bernina Embroidery Machine.
I had fun stitching names on the Sashings.
Giving each Store credit, and making it easy to know where I collected my Rows/Blocks from this year.
I haven't decided where I will turn it in, yet.
I need a final border of a Musical fabric.

Linking up HERE for Design Wall Monday.

PS-  I  missed out on being the 1st in Washington State.
Close but not quite there.
I am earlier than the past 2 years.

It's Friday - No Finish yet!!

I took a bit of TV time to stitch my
Splendid Sampler Block 3
The clamshells weren't as easy as they look.
I tried EPP  (English Paper Piecing) them.
I  used Aurifil 50 wt doubled and quadruple strands for the flowers.

Block 4 showed up Thursday.
I took the easiest way for it.
I had some pre-fused fabric just waiting to be cut up smaller.

A perfect balanced Pink Elephant!

I had dark thread on the machine from stitching around the fusible on my Row by Row Blocks and Rows.
Practicing the machine Blanket stitches around those curves, fail!
Back to it today.
I still have a chance to be one of the 1st in Washington State to turn in my Quilt.

Our youngest Son is 33 today!
He has been too far away for me,
 for too many years.
I miss seeing him and getting a hug!

WOW-WEDNESDAY -Happy Birthday America!!

It's the 4th of July!!
I  finally got to work on my
Thread and Bolts Row
I also did the Row from
Fabric 108
I am so done with FUSIBLE!!
It is fitting to share the Eagle Row
 on this Holiday.
It took a whole day.
I must be totally CRAZY with a capital 'C'!!
Yes this is me admitting it!
I  have  made a Row by Row Quilt
every year it has been offered in Washington- 2014
These were my Rows that year.
This will be the 1st time I don't have a Row from Leavenworth!
5 years I have been making them.
There's a Quilt Show in Wenatchee in August. Maybe I can get their Row then.
Have a Great 4th of July!
My 'Crazy' Sister and I went to the 9pm
$5.50 Tuesday showing of
Jurassic Park
Fallen World
It was fun to be crazy.
Reminded me of late night Movie watching with my Children.
