Quiltville Mystery Link-up Part 6

I had a bit of fun playing with scraps for Part 6.
I grabbed a few Selvages from my pile that has collected on the sewing table.
Mostly White or cream ones.
I called it my Graffiti,  lol
Some 'out of Bobbin experience' happened.
I remembered to bring my Bobbin thread.
I liked not trimming the phone book pages.
Sewing the strips on lengthwise.
Brandy stopped by to see if I was String piecing Part 6.

Here are the 6 Parts of the Mystery.
I still am not guessing on a block or quilt layout.
I'm waiting for the Reveal!
Will we get a New Year Surprise again?
With Rapid -Fire clues... only Bonnie and Sadie knows.

WOW-WEDNESDAY - Thoughtful gifts

Christmas was a Success.
Thanks for the FaceTime,  Texts, Messages, pictures of smiling kids, and visits!
I woke up to the smell of Cinnamon Candy Cane Bread cooking.
A slight dusting of Snow, lol
This was part of Christmas Morning.
DD#2 came to see me open the Big Box!
I had many different thoughts, what was it?
The picture in the center shows part of it.
Who knew that I needed one...lol
Janessa got us the cover that is  magnetized.
It sticks to the top and is handy to cover food being Microwaved.
#asseenontv
DH was happy to swap it out and toss the old one!

We gave and received some very
Thoughtful gifts.
Nativities, gift cards, books, a Big Uno game.
Useful  & creative things!
We opened the gifts from Far-away.
DH got a Tailgate net from Jeff & Chey, the Painted Nativity is from the Wyoming kids.
I wrapped up a couple of pkgs mailed to me.
The New QUILTVILLE Book and Mini Simple folded Corner Ruler &  Jolly Box.
DH got his usual,  jeans & SWEETS vouchers.

Christmas Secret Sewing was not all I originally planned.
I didn't get a Cousin lineup picture with their gifts.
I ordered Books, mostly online, and made Christmas Pillowcases for the Grandchildren.
I gave them something good to read.
I learned a little more about each one.
A highlight was having them, start reading the book right after opening.
The most important thing is that we spent time together!
It's been awhile since we have played Scrabble and Grandpa's toy and Giant UNO was fun.
I  Love my Family!
Had to show a bigger picture with the girls!

Time for a New Tree & post-Christmas.
Going to the Temple with the Grandchildren tonight!

Quiltville Mystery -Good Fortune Part 5 Link-up

I cut before going to the LOFT.
It didn't take long to get to the Pressing.

Christmas with the Local family last night .
I love seeing our Grandchildren together.
I took mental pictures!!
Except for this one.

We are blessed  & the roads were good.
Just rain on the way home.
The Grandchildren played outside so no Cousins line up pictures .
Paper snowflakes might need to go up.
Or we could watch "White Christmas".

Janessa took a few and her son took some of our gifts from Jeffery in Missouri .
I will need to get those from his camera.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Time for Part 5-Good Fortune

I've been waiting patiently for Part 5.
I had a few other things to work on.
The Break for Movie with my Sister was just perfect.
I should have posted
"Trip the Light Fantastic"
The songs were so fun and lyrics much like the original.
I missed a few from 1964, but heard a few of them during the credits.
I wanna see it AGAIN!

I was up early enough to print the
Part 5 Directions.
Some in Bonnie's Colors and some for Mine.
I found a piece of Blue that said
Sashico on the selvage.
Going to Stitch at the Loft.

Then I get to go to Tri-Cities for
a Lexie Walker "Magic of Christmas" concert with DD #1.
Ha great Winter Solstice.
I'm taking my "Celtic Christmas Solstice" Quilt to Sleep under at DD#1 home!
Still no White Stuff in our Forecast.
Doesn’t bother me!

WOW -WEDNESDAY - Countdown to Christmas.

The last Christmas party for
 Lacy Lacers was last night.
A nice dinner- Soup, Rolls, Fruit Salad and Veggie Tray. Yummy, rich, dessert!
All assigned potluck.
I have enjoyed my time with this group.
I have stepped down as Secretary, so it was my last gift exchange with them.
Such cute Lambs, Angels,  and Nativities.
I am glad she knew what I like!
I'm so blessed!

Today, it's not going to be what WAS on the busy calendar...
Plot twist, early morning call to reschedule my Mammogram appointment.
I'm awake,  my Christmas list has been checked off, wrapped and waiting patiently for our Sunday family Christmas Gathering.
We'll miss 2 Boys and their families.
Maybe a FaceTime will happen again.

Today is ALL mine. I thinking it might be a Stay in my Jammies day, playing with
a couple UFO'S and the string sets for the Quiltville Mystery.
Choices are endless, maybe, I should load a Quilt for one last Finish in 2018???

Mary Poppins Returns opens today!!
Can I find a moment to go see it?
Reminders of a long ago day at the movies in Moses Lake with my family.
I remember skipping out of the theater singing "Let's Go Fly a Kite"
I also recall my Daddy fell asleep.

6 More Days til Christmas!

Quiltville Mystery Link-up -part 4

It's another Link-up Monday!
I had some company in the LOFT.
3 ladies, one who is Blind, came to sandwich some Quilts.
I was happy that they took time to help a friend. True Christmas Spirit.
& Brandy stopped by.
She is stitching at home after working at her mom Pac n Ship. Busy!!
I got to play with my 'Happy Colors'
Lots of old Phone books laying around, lol.
We got new ones last month.
My handy Paper cutter went along to help.

I did some in strip sets too.
That used up my shorter strips
from my scraps bin.
I'll cut into more Purples to finish.

Abby is singing the song this year, lol
"All I Want for Christmas"
I had to get a picture!
I found a wrapped package from a few years ago for my daughter.
I forgot what was in it, so I  had to take it and have her open it, of course.  Right?
She doesn't have a Nutcracker like this one.

A few of these parts need pressing.

Good Fortune Mystery Link-up -part 3

This will be short and sweet.
I worked a little on this part.
3 different Fabrics and scrappy corners.
Plus Bonus HSTS.
The Bonus buddy ruler got a workout when I got home.
Drawing 2 lines to sew takes more time.
But it will be Sew worth it.
Dejavu of the making of Midnight Flight!

The rest of the week was Christmas fun.

I missed going to see
  The Nutcracker Ballet last year.

First Friday - Stitching in the Loft day

I am up early to get prepped for stitching in the LOFT  later.
Cut, Mark, Stitch, Press & Count...
Finding things around the house
to stay organized.

I don't think I Will run out of
Binder Clips.
I might run out of Chocolate,  lol
Found this turning stackable caddy on the
Quilt in a Day website.
There's magnets holding them.

I missed my WOW-WEDNESDAY post.
Finding a way to get the tree
to work one more year.
Don't you hate when the lights burn out?
The lights come in so many shades of clear.
Uggg, Warm or Cool??
 300, 100,  150, 70, 50 light sets.
Choices,  Choices!
The middle section is hard to match.
Guess who will be shopping after-Christmas sales for a new tree. ME!

Thursday, found me wanting to Play.
My sister was doing errands Walla Walla,
So a plan hatched.
Roma said, let's make Nut clusters.
We did them in the Crockpot pot!
Soooo easy!!
We tried to make mommas No-Fail Divinity.
Hahaha, I  bet she's laughing!
Here’s my TBT from yesterday.
Circa Christmas 1957.
I'm the Baby.
Love that my daddy took pictures of Us!
These old pictures are treasures.

QUILTVILLE MYSTERY LINK-UP PART 2

It was another SOLO day in the LOFT.
I  got a few HSTS made in both colors.
You can see the Blue ones by the Essential Triangle Tool in the top right of this collage.
The Essential Triangle Tool made them come out just the right size!
Careful cutting and 1/4" stitching is the trick.
Linking up early this morning,
HERE'S the link
Got my String Frenzy book in the 3rd round

I shared how to use the Essential Triangle Tool with Mae at WWSVANDSPAS.
Jessica stopped by,  but is resisting the Mystery because of too many in totes unfinished.

I cut the a bunch of Purples and have them ready to stitch between my sessions of Christmas  decorating.
Nativities go up first, then the Tree.

I took this one out 1st.
It is one I bought last year when I picked up Paint Chips at Lowe's.

The Nativity is up at the Columbia River Temple.

We got home just in time for the final hours of the Walla Walla Stake Christmas Festival.
Paul wore his Nativity tie!  Lynn found it for me to give him when he was the Bishop!
We had a nearly private viewing of the 1st Presidency Christmas Broadcast from
Salt Lake City at Cameo Heights Mansion.
Brother Fielding has put up a Star that can be seen for miles, on a hill by the Mansion.
A great way to begin the Season of Christmas!

2019 UFO Challenge link-up

WOW-WEDNESDAY Quiltville Mystery Part 1 Continues

More 4-patches going under my needle!
I am at home and have my favorite handy tool ready to count and stack them
as I spin that seam.

The process goes on...
Making sure that seam is a true 1/4"
Gotta swap strips and make them Scrappy!

I might have to stitch a few more before Friday.

Ornaments were delivered in time after
Thanksgiving for my girls to go on trees.
We got to see these 3 put their ornaments on the tree.
My DD #1 sent me pictures of her children.
I had fun making them using ABC beads.
Here's a closer look.
I love family Christmas Traditions!
