Thanksgiving 2008

Brant wanted a project... so 3 hours after he came the living room rug started coming up. By the time Paul got home from work it was most up and he helped cut it and get it out of the house. There was nice old wood flooring under all that red carpet. It will need some TLC later but I'm happy to have it gone.

The next set of pictures are of the Turkey Bowl players. Joe came from Pasco and Brant from Idaho to play. Paul went to take pictures and he took a lot more. The first one is of the winning team. I've been informed that my sons had a hand in 2 TD's and a interception. By the looks of Joe when he got home, He enjoyed the game! The girls and I fixed the food, while the Turkey cooked. Thanks to them for all their help! We celebrated our Thanksgiving and had lots of good company and food. Thanks to all the family and friends who joined us.

Here are a few pictures. Colby Food- in abundance! I had to get a picture of the kids with their quilts that are mostly finished. I have two that still have work to be done on them. They live closer so I'll get theirs to them ASAP. Aunt Tina helped us remember why we get together... to be Thankful! She made this Turkey for Paul's parents who they will go and visit Friday.

Time Passes on...

We share our Anniversary with 3 generations. My Paternal Grandparents and my parents.

I also found a picture of what we looked like when we were "newly weds". Just looking at the photos makes me think a lot of time has passed. Grandpa William and Grandma Florence Brown were married in 1908, my parents; Alma and NaOla Brown were married in 1938. Sepia tone to Black and White to Techicolor to digital...

This is a special time of the year! Not only for Thanksgiving but it's our 32 Anniversary two days before Thanksgiving. We spent Thanksgiving of 1976 in Cardston Canada. We had our picture taken at the Ward Thanksgiving Dinner last week. Brother Walk posted them on Picasa for us. Not bad for two old people... BTW the phrase at the top is one that Paul's father used to say a lot to us when we were counting down to an event.

Saturday Rounds

We made the rounds after our session at the Columbia River Temple. Stopped to visit with Colby and Kori on the way there. Got to see his new room with all the fun penants Joe put up. Also got copies of his 4 year pics. Opps, I forgot to take any pics while there...

My sister and husband met us at the Temple too.

This is what happens when Grandpa mans the camera... Elizabeth was sharpening her colored pencils, Vincent was just being cute.

NaDell and Olivia weren't looking at the camera when it finally went off. Paul says the delay is too long before it takes the picture.Paul always takes lots of pictures of me. I asked for one of Vincent... After we played the Guitar Hero we went to Quizno's like NaDell said in her BLOG. Had to try the $5 Subs that are now $5.99.

Then we went to Milton & Christen's. The kids were ready for bed by the time we got there. We got them all hyper- sorry Milton and Christen!!!!

Milton's kids were asking for Pictures like kids do. They expect it when Grandma comes.I can't pass up a picture of Lydia's big brown eyes! She's the Princess in the Crowther family right now. She was happy to have me hold her- not the Norm...

13 days until Turkey Day

This is my Table Runner Made for the Fall Mystery Challenge at Guild. Made in one day at Lynn's after I got home Monday from my visit. Only 6 of us made them for the meeting so we get a surprise next month at Guild from the Small projects Chair. My Quilt guild fellow Runner makers... This is me after my Mary Kay Makeover at Jan E's house Wednesday. Getting old isn't fun, but this is the best I have to work with. A few extra wrinkles and crows feet that weren't there 32 years ago this month...

It's almost Turkey Day!!!! Have to start the major cleaning and reoganizing the dirt for company... Quilting still happening. The Ward will have Turkey Dinner Friday night and I get to cook all day for that. I get to make Rolls, Stuffing and cook a Turkey...my favorite things about Thanksgiving other than FAMILY!!!

Visit to Vancouver- Home again!

I left Walla Walla Thursday morning with Mignon to go visit Jes, Janessa and Jackson in Vancouver. Janessa met us at Fabric Depot. We hit the Taco Time at the Mall on the way home. Jackson with their Christmas Quilt- I took it to them (just in case) they don't get home for Thanksgiving. On Sunday we took a drive to the Portland Temple. It's been over 7 years since we had been there. I had to take some pictures while it wasn't raining... Jes was at work. We played "Rummicub" Saturday and Sunday nights. Jes and Janessa whooped us, I finally won 2 games Sunday night. We cooked, shopped and had a great visit, rain and all! Monday we went to the Vancouver Mall to let Jackson ride the carosel, but it wasn't open in time for him to ride this morning. This horse was outside the doors of the Carosel.

Grandpa carried Jackson on his shoulders. He got the reindeer in JC Penneys.

We stopped by Hermiston for Danette to color and fix my hair. Afterward we went to her house. Paul had never seen her twins. They were shy and didn't want to perform as Danette thought they might. They only wanted Mom and Dad. Had to take a picture of their 4 girls; Brittany, Michelle, Brooke and Kristen. Now we are home and uploaded the pictures... so I could POST! Dad is tired and wants something to eat... It's been too long since lunch-Taco Time in the Dalles had my Crispy Bean Burritos for 99 cents today, YEA!!! Thanks for the fun time Jes, Janessa and Jackson!

HALLOWEEN Weekend

Lydia came to visit a while Saturday, November 1st. She left her brothers to stay with Grandpa and Grandma for the week-end. See how happy she was? She is 5 months old now. It rained so the boys had to wear old t-shirts of their Uncles while they played Beanbag toss with Grandpa. Seth remembered making Crowns with Aunt Tina, so he and Jared made them while Trevor and Coy were sleeping. On Sunday I took these handsome Boys to Church with me. Milton packed most everything they needed, I borrowed a white shirt for Jared from Turners. It was chilly so Grandma just happened to find some Sweaters that Milton, Joe, & Brant had worn when they were little. Milton wore one like the one Seth is wearing, I think. Brant wore the one Coy is wearing and Joe wore the Brown one from Australia when he was two. See how they look up to their BIG brother, Jared? After Church we had Pudding and watched the Book of Mormon Movie while we waited for Grandpa to come home from the Church for dinner. Later we drove to Basin City. We sang along with the Church tapes all the way. Shannon Jorgenson earned her Young Woman Award, this is equal to an Eagle Scout. This is her display of things from her projects. We met Milton and Christen there and they took their boys home after. Paul and I stopped to visit Dad and Mom for awhile then came back to Walla Walla. It was a good week-end!
